Chapter 3: Chapter 2 - I got my first kill! And the start of
trouble?
Below me, was a serpent.
That color...
It's a green serpent.
It's just a normal Demon Beast.
But...if I wanna live quietly--
Then it should be the perfect target.
Furthermore--
I swiftly brought out a single-edged pure Obsidian black Katana from my
scabbard, Masamune.
I named it after Goro Masamune, widely recognized as one of the greatest
sword smith in history.
Unlike most weapons, which was easily broken due to the difference of
hardness at the location where the two pieces of steel met, mine was forged
with a single steel material.
The steel's hardness was dependent and decided by the carbon content.
A high level magic user would be able to control the amount of carbon content
dissolved in the steel through fluid control of magic; to constantly maintain the
balance of hard and soft.
Because there was no extreme difference of hardness in structure, Masamune
had stuck together extremely tough. Furthermore, the steel could penetrate
even the toughest of defense more readily and it's lightweight nature made it
easier for the user to wield.
The moment I held the sword in my hand, a sense of familiarity came back.
This sword was used during my previous life as a hero and through my previous
life's knowledge and the use of magic and alchemy, this sword has appeared
once again before me.
I displayed an Iai posture in midair and produced heat from the depths of my
body- -This was known in ancient times as life energy.
I concentrated magic at only the soles of my feet and created an acceleration
with the minimum amount of magic. It was exactly like the move of a master
assassin.
Without any preliminary motion, also with little emission of magic, it was hard
to foresight and detect.
"Here I come!!"
I issued out a scream as I plunged towards the serpent.
However--
"What?"
That green serpent seemed to be paying attention to something else.
Well, who cares. It doesn't matter anyways!
"YAAAAAAAA!"
Like a shadow, I descended while cutting the sky and with a white flash, the
head of the serpent was sliced off.
First Kill!
Great!
Next up--
To harvest my rewards.
I took out a handbag.
Now, it may look like any normal handbag but this is actually a magic handbag
which I made myself.
From the outside, it's just a normal bag but the space inside has been expanded
by magic, so not matter how big something is, it will fit perfectly in my bag.
Such a precious item.
The bag started to absorb the head of the serpent.
I had no idea what I would do with it yet but...whatever.
I turned my head towards it's body.
Might as well take this along too.
Great, it's done!
I should quickly get out of here before it gets dark!

Let's quickly go register as an adventurer!!
However, I suddenly stopped and turned around momentarily.
Strange, I thought I heard something.
Well-.doesn't matter.
I jumped into the air and very soon, even my silhouette could not be seen.
Unbeknownst to me—
That was the start of everything.
A problem occurred recently.
We were attacked by a monster while on a trip. Even more terrifying, it was a
green serpent.
Even our garrison, with some of the best soldiers from the kingdom, couldn't
stand a chance against it.
So, a phrase like "Strong Enemy" isn't nearly enough to describe this grim
monster.
"These horses are the serpent's target!! Use them to bait it and then run for
your life!!"
"You guys must retreat first!"
A man in a helmet and cape, exactly like a knight, could be seen screaming to
his subordinates.
I'm so sorry, Volhan. I won't let you die alone. I, Sir Lancelot, will also risk my
life for...
"YAAAAAAA!!"
What the?
The knight named Lancelot looked up to find a figure holding a sword;
plunging head down towards the serpent.
A young boy!?
When I realized it, it was all over.
The boy had easily killed the green serpent.
Lancelot was hidden behind a couple of trees as he observed the young boy
taking out a small bag and absorbing the giant body of the serpent inside it.
That extremely extraordinary scene...
The only thing that crossed Lancelot's mind at that moment was "Magic Item."
No. There should be no way a teenager like him could own a magic item in the
first place.
Before Lancelot could say something, the boy had already jumped away.
"...Hey! Wait...!"
In the blink of an eye. Everything was settled in just the blink of an eye.
Everything was over in just a moment.
Lancelot suddenly recalled something important.
"Oh no!! Princess!"
He turned around in a haste.
Fortunately--
"Please do not worry about the Princess, Sir Lancelot. She is still safe."
"Please do not worry about the Princess, Sir Lancelot. She is still safe."
One of his subordinates pointed towards a beautiful young woman, adorned
with golden blonde hair and blue eyes as deep as the sea, dressed in a divine
garment that would make any male fall in love at sight.
"Princess Levana."
Lancelot took of his helmet, revealing a middle aged man with wrinkles, as he
kneel in front of the Princess.
The Princess abruptly turned around as she faced Lancelot.
"Lancelot! I have found the man of my dreams!" Princess Levana exclaimed in
excitement.
"Huh?" Lancelot could not help but reveal a shocked expression.
"I was watching from a distance--"
"That young man seems to be an adventurer. And a very strong one at that.
From the moment I saw him defeat that green serpent, it felt as if I'd known
him forever. I was blown away! This is the journey I have been waiting for my
whole life."
Princess Levana was getting more and more excited as she pointed at Lancelot.
"Lancelot, I order you to find that young man for me!"
Seeing the Princess face, Lancelot could not help but sigh.
