Chapter 7 - A Breathtaking Song
The first to perform on stage was surprisingly that elder sister, who she met the other day in the Zither Hall!
To be honest, it shouldn’t be that surprising, right?
Yeah, apart from those exceptional acts, the first and last performers were usually the ones that left the deepest impressions on the audience.
This was definitely one cunning woman……
Gu Qingyu sucked in her cheeks, “However, I must win! I will seize the first place!”
The person on stage played on a large zither, sometimes it had sorrowful tunes, and sometimes it had joyous tunes, as if it was telling the thoughts of a young lady, events that had happened in the past. The whole song centered around grief and sorrow, and also seemed to be covered with a faint layer of mist.
Once the song came to an end, the people in the audience stood up and applauded,

Dressed in blue clothing, standing on top of the roof, his blue robe fluttered in the wind.

He……came to watch her perform?

She clenched her fist on the counter, and glared at him.
At this time, a purple clothed young girl carried a pipa and stepped up on stage, then began to play.
The harmonic resonance, drew in Gu Qingyu’s attention.
Her melody made people feeling very relaxed and comfortable, sprinkles of magic glimmered in the midst of the pristine and pure sounds.
This young girl is certainly not ordinary.
Gu Qingyu didn’t mind it too much, as it was just a thought of hers.
The applause roared like thunder when the last tune ended.
It was her turn and time, Gu Qingyu entered the stage.
She casually held a zither in her hands, and set up the stage.
The melody started off softly and peacefully, letting the spectators to ease up first.
Gu Qingyu slowly and steadily started to sing,
“~A cloud of petals, beautifully and softly, scattered across the world~
~Smiling towards the fluctuations and changes in the Floating World, the inescapable earthly joys and sorrows in the lofty world of mortals~
~Only one’s not aware when existing amongst it all……~”
Up until here, her slender fingers paused for a split-second as the song was about to cut into the main topic, and a pleasant melody flowed out shortly after,
“~Fated at first sight~
~Plunging into the flourishing night~
~Time stopped as they quietly looked at each other~
~Embroidered on the water surface, the pure and beautiful love, slowly spread……~”
The song gradually reached its climax,
“~The burning flame on the eternal seal of happiness and satisfaction~
~Through cycles of reincarnation, just a will for an untouched moment~
~A moment of memories, melts away like snow after waking up~
~Fully blooming for the buried vows of yours……~”
The sweet and soft nature of the song, everlasting beautiful sound……
As the song came to an end, everyone in the audience was stunned.
Because they have never heard this style of melody or poem before, however, after listening to it for the first time, they unexpectedly felt……it was very pleasant.
Hoho~Of course they did~
Gu Qingyu smirked, “Hehehe! Keep on being amazed!”
A few people started to slowly clap, then following, people looked as if they woke up from a dream, and immediately, a thunder of applause roared through the arena!
“Hey, this is the third lady of Gu Manor? Such an angelic aura!”

Gu Qingyu smiled as she bend her knees and bowed her head slightly, slowly getting of the stage, just like a woman of noble birth.
Jia Qizhe narrowed his eyes, “She’s actually so exceptionally talented……In the past, I’ve always believed she only knew a bit of martial arts, who knew that she also possessed such literary grace……”
Why don’t I just bring her with me.

She still had to keep up the manners of a noble lady, because they were still at the location of the competition.
Speaking in third person towards each other. "Rolls eyes"
