“Hm~Hum~~hum~” Gu Qingyu hummed along the song, while organizing her stuff.
The thunderstorm raged outside the large building, and heavy rain hit up against the windows, making a frightening “Pounding”-sound.
Gu Qingyu worked in the most famous and prestigious hospital in City A, a professional psychologist, 23yrs old this year.
She proficiently put the things into the backpack and looked at the time, “23:15……Ugh, it’s so late already, ah……”
Gu Qingyu carried her backpack and entered the elevator.
25……24……23……
All of a sudden, the elevator stopped at floor 22, no longer going down.
What’s going on?
As Gu Qingyu liked to read novels, she immediately started to imagine a scenario from some ghost story……She looked at her wristwatch : The clock-hands pointed exactly towards Twelve ‘o clock!!
The elevator-door suddenly opened. At the same time, the lightning struck ruthlessly outside.
A black-clothed person stood outside the elevator, his face was covered by a hat. His dried up and twig-like hand stretched, slowly and trembling towards her……
Without hesitation, Gu Qingyu immediately pushed him away and rushed out.
What’s that about? Why is it like this……Shouldn’t there still be some doctors or nurses that worked overtime in the hospital? Why……why would a weirdo suddenly appear?! Who was that and what was he up to?!
Without another spare second to think, Gu Qingyu sprinted with everything she had. Her body’s natural instincts made her incapable of stopping her legs——Because she suddenly had a premonition; Once she stopped, she would get caught by him, and the outcome of getting caught would be……
She arrived at the staircase passage and continued downwards……
Behind her, the sounds of footsteps seemed to follow her closely, as if it was just right next to her……

Gu Qingyu hesitated, but she still braced herself to run in.
She shut the door and immediately looked around, “This seems……Ngh!!”
Her mouth was covered by a hand, and right after, her chest suddenly violently ached……She lowered her head and saw a knife tip that had penetrated through her chest, the thick blood dripped down along the point.
She wished to turn her head, to take a look at that person……

Perhaps, I had run into a ghost?
The knife slowly pulled out, Gu Qingyu fell powerlessly down on the ground.
Her consciousness……started to slowly fade away……
How can this be……
Who exactly was it that wanted to kill me?
She tried to open her eyes wider to get a clear look at that person’s face, but her vision turned more blurry with every passing second and her eyelids felt so heavy……
Her spirit seemed to break away from her body……
What should I do……I don’t want to die yet……Ah…somebody…save me……
In the unseen world, a faint and indistinct voice seemed to be calling for her……
“I can grant you one more life. Go to another space-time and retrieve your……”
My? What?
Gu Qingyu tried to listen more attentively, but the sound got more and more faint……
Before her eyes, she seemed to see a shadow, but in the end it was too obscure……
At last, complete darkness.
