Hello again. It’s Miya Kazuki. Thank you very much for reading Ascendance of a Bookworm: Part 3 Volume 3. 

This volume begins with the printing press being improved. They were fundamentally just enhancing the normal presses they had already been using to make them even easier to use, but this was new ground for the lower city craftsman. As they exchanged ideas, it ultimately came to pass that Rozemyne bought the schematics themselves. Benno and Lutz had a really rough time arbitrating all of this, and I hope you enjoyed the short story about Ingo preparing for his workshop’s future. 

Angelica the apprentice guard knight hadn’t been given many opportunities to shine up until now, but in this volume, the Raise Angelica’s Grades Squadron was established for her sake, thereby tightening the bonds between Rozemyne’s guard knights. There were a surprisingly large number of web novel readers who really empathized with Angelica wanting to become a guard knight to avoid having to study; I wonder if the light novel readers felt the same way? 

The star attraction of this volume was no doubt the very fantasy-like ingredient collection scenes. Last volume had the ruelle gathering scene near the end, and this volume continued that trend with the Lord of Winter hunt and the gathering of rairein nectar. 

I think that Rozemyne worked really hard to participate in the action scenes despite the fact that moving even a little bit causes her to pass out. Though, naturally, her guard knights and Ferdinand are the ones who are really working hard to make this happen. I made some graphs related to the gatherings so you can see what they were gathering and where, so I hope you can have fun imagining the scenes with these in mind. 

This was a big surprise for me, but there are actually plans for an Ascendance of a Bookworm drama CD to be made. I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of voices Rozemyne and Ferdinand have. If you’re curious, please feel free to look on the TO Books website. 

This volume’s cover art has a heroic-looking Rozemyne wielding Leidenschaft’s spear, while the color illustration depicts the girls enjoying their mysterious night out while the boys watch on in terror. I really loved both images. Thank you very much, Shiina You-sama.
