Assassin Pride Volume 12 Prologue
HOME ROOM EARLIER

(Unedtied)

「──Why?」

Having already become the last man alive, he asked that to none other than himself.

「Where have I picked a wrong turn……」

However it would be another story if the pistol in his palm vomited an answer other than bullets……。

He couldn’t do nothing but think inside his head.

As he did so, a glittering sapphire scene came to his mind. ──

† † †

「Doctor Hoir」

He was called so. A voice came to him from high up as he timidly walked out.

He was the doctor that successfully repaired flesh using the great power of the night dweller (lycanthrope), a Frankenstein. ──

The Frankenstein clan was not consistence in height and physique. They who even used their own flesh and body for experiment material had their own limbs patched with other living beings and repeatedly remodeled many times. Losing their original form was exactly the virtue a researcher’s proficiency.

Doctor Hoir’s legs were that of a toddler, so mostly he was in situation which being looked down by others around him.

The man in front of his eyes was very tall.

Even so he lightly bent his waist and politely smiled.

「I’m so glad you came, doctor」

A splendid white hair──

As he smiled small wrinkles appeared. However his skin was pure white as that of a young girl, his hair was long and glossy. His age couldn’t be told at all, he was overflowing with youthful vitality.

Furthermore, there were the sharp canines from the left and right of his mouth.

He was from the vampire clan.

A bluish glitter──

The moment he set foot inside the palace, doctor Hoir felt extremely proud. The Lycanthropes inhabited this night world had always afraid of the vampire clan. Their territory was the sapphire capital built inside the misty valley!

The true form of it was the crystal of moon’s power called Nemesis Sphere.

It was a precious resource of the night world. Certainly anyone would put it inside a treasure box and locked it away.

The vampire clan used that scarce stone to build their capital.

Their national power’s bottom couldn’t be comprehended at all.

Hoir who was nothing more than a mere Lycanthrope seemingly became dizzied at the greatly dazzling blue glitter. His gait on the blue stone floor was unsteady and staggering.

Is it really fine to just enter a place like this?

However, he couldn’t just keep staring. The first time he was in touched with the vampire clan was no more than half a year ago. That encountered was at the last human’s city-state 《Flander》.

It was at the king of time Serge Schlesal and leader of the werewolf clan Mad Gold political marriage.

As the invited guest of that, 《He》and Hoir met.

His name was Kufa……

If Hoir was the Frankenstein’s representative then he was the messenger of the vampire clan. No matter what it takes, Hoir had to make use of this connection.

The Frankenstein clan was standing on a dilemma.

Their reigning queen Lacey La Moore’s whereabouts was unknown.

Just where she has gone! She declared 「Finally I have the secret formula to immortality」and made a triumphant returned to her own birthplace Flander, but it was spring a year ago. The matter with Mr. Kufa was that he had met queen Lacey.

『I’ve completely parted with her half a year ago though──』

Mr. Kufa didn’t intent to run his mouth much more about it. On the contrary it seemed he was staying at Flander after the human’s civil war and exerted himself as a mediator of the night world.……

As he was under the Frankenstein clan, the said Serge Schlesal was sent forth as the messenger, and they should try to freely cooperate ── that was the only order from the above.

There was something strange, Hoir couldn’t help but think so.

On the position entrusted due to the absence of the queen, the course of action of his clan depended solely on Hoir.

Using that excellent head of his, he thought extremely thoroughly, as the result ──

Hoir decided to visit the capital of the blood sucking demon (vampire).

The clan Frankenstein and him didn’t have any allegiance.

The moment he entered the territory, it wouldn’t be strange that his head would be flying. Practically, when he thought that once he set foot inside the valley he would be wrapped by the mist, but before he knew it, Hoir was surrounded by never seen before《monsters》. He was easily caught!

《Monsters》were 《monsters》. They couldn’t be expressed as nothing but ferocious beasts.

However, before being eaten Hoir claimed.

『Your faithful servant has hastened to visit you!!』

──like that.

As he did so, one of the vampire leading the beasts had lent his ear. Although Hoir became very incoherent because of fear, he rattled on about the circumstances, and the vampire nodded as if thoroughly understood the story, he ordered the beasts to retreat.

『Welcome』──He said.

He put Hoir on the back of the beast and invited him to the sapphire capital very deep inside the mist. Finally, he courteously guided Hoir to the most splendid palace.

That vampire was, at this moment, the youthful man at the prime of his life standing in front of him.

Theodoa was the name, he politely announced.

Seriously, is it fine to just enter a place like this……

The place Hoir was led to was the so called throne space. The floor was a wide circle, and the tall ceiling formed an arch. On the place that was so high he had to hurt his neck to look up── there was an object releasing pale light. It was the Nemesis crystal. But it was so big! Because it poured brilliant light down, Hoir became dizzy.

But, the thing he should pay attention to the most was the middle of the room.

There was a tall stair, and the throne built of bluish stone on it was looking down at him.

He could see there was someone sitting on it……

Only their feet were faintly seeable. It was unknown whether they were male or female.

……Furthermore, it seemed he was intensively staring at the throne.

Theodoa coughed 「Gohon」, making Hoir returned to his senses.

There were a mountain of things he had to ask.

「Then, is it true?」

Hoir leaned his body toward Theodoa.

「Messenger-dono……Kufa-dono has never sent back a report even once?」

Theodoa only moved his mouth, and expressed a smile.

「He is poor at writing」

「Haa……」

「Therefore it’s a great help that you have come here, doctor Hoir. I wish that you would tell us everything that he has done as the messenger of the vampire clan」

Hoir rounded his eyes.

「E, everything?」

「Yes, everything」

Being told so, Hoir couldn’t do anything but to confess.

While Theodoa repeatedly nodded as he was hearing the story, the blue veil covering the throne didn’t even fluttered in the wind.

In the end, Hoir blurted out the most recent contact regarding Mr Kufa.

「Hou, time travel?」

Theodoa showed a lot of interest.

「He wants to carry out that plan with the human?」

「Ye, yes……I also doubted  my ears, but cooperating with human is not impossible, it was necessary……he said. No, no matter what it was a vital point of the plan──」

After all there was no basic to connect the story, or was it? Hoir wholeheartedly groaned inside his mind.

While being reminded of something from the fragmentary situation report, he opened his mouth.

「That’s right! Do the noble girls of the human world become important? Eeto, I think her name was── Mule of the house La Moore. Sarasha of the Schlesal house. Then Elise of the Angel house and──Melida. Right, that’s right. Melida Angel──…………」

It was at that moment.

There was something wriggling inside Hoir’s vision.

It was the veil surrounding the throne. Up until now it didn’t move a slightest, however it shook.

Theodoa also immediately noticed that.

「My liege, what have happened, my liege?」

『…………』

「I’ll come immediately」

Theodoa turned his heels, unconsciously Hoir also followed after him.

As he did that, Theodoa turned back with the《face most befitting a vampire》so far.

「You wait here!」

Hoir’s whole body cowered with fright, he couldn’t do nothing but doing as told.

Theodoa ascended the stair, and went hidden behind the veil.

It seemed he was saying something with the one on the throne ……

That voice was like flapping of insects even though it was from the serene throne, without changing, Hoir couldn’t judge whether they were male or female, young or old.

Without a doubt, the one on the throne was the most powerful person of the vampire clan. ──

I want to try meeting them, Hoir harbored such a natural thought.

If the Frankenstein clan could affiliated with the vampire clan and achieved a fixed position, then the representative of the clan, Hoir, could also receive the privilege of serving by their side.

Hoir imagined his own glorious light with that full of wrinkle brain of his.

† † †

……However, his ambition never came true at all.

He finally realized that as he had became the sole survivor.
