The next day was Monday and school lessons resumed.
Snakel put away his formal clothing, and put on a matching lovers’ attire with Gu Mengmeng.
Gu Mengmeng felt rather bashful. This was still a school—wouldn’t it be too flashy for them to wear such clothes?
But Snakel said, “Silly girl. I can’t wait for the entire world to know we are a couple. In case some people forget their place and start getting ideas about you.”
Gu Mengmeng smiled. “You are the most famous person in school. There are definitely a lot more people who would pursue you, rather than me.”
Snakel kissed Gu Mengmeng on the lips. “I will keep myself pure and chaste for you.”
Gu Mengmeng blushed and felt a little dazed.
Following his marriage proposal and subsequent withdrawal of it last night, his words now held an extra layer of meaning to Gu Mengmeng.
After arriving at the school, Gu Mengmeng saw a results ranking pasted on the bulletin board. She then recalled that the results of the previous practice test would be announced today. With trepidation, she hustled closer… haha, as expected, Snakel held first place. But wait a minute, shouldn’t Snakel be in year two now? Why was he in the year one rankings?
Gu Mengmeng turned to look at Snakel with a puzzled expression.
Snakel chuckled. “I enrolled one year earlier so that I can be your ideal senior idol, but now… since I am your boyfriend, I should be by your side all the time.”
“So…?”
“So I got retained for one year to accompany you.” Snakel placed his hand on Gu Mengmeng’s shoulder, as he pressed himself lazily against her body. He tilted his head with a smile. “Are you touched? Kiss me if you are? Mmm?”
Gu Mengmeng blushed again. She scanned her surroundings and saw that there were too many people around. She really couldn’t kiss him in front of so many others.
Snakel saw her hesitation and so pinched her chin and pecked her on the lips. “One must still fight for one’s own benefits.”
Gu Mengmeng felt dazzled by Snakel’s smile. How could there be someone so gorgeous in this world…
So exquisite that he looked as if he had just stepped out of an anime. And this person… was her boyfriend.
Because of Snakel, Gu Mengmeng forgot to check her own results. The first bell rang and Snakel pulled Gu Mengmeng towards the classroom in an unhurried manner.
A morning breeze carrying the smell of books wafted through. Because Snakel was too outstanding, Gu Mengmeng failed to notice anything else other than him. In a daze, she just allowed him to lead her into the classroom and sat down in the farthest corner of the last row.
She muddled through the entire lesson, as waves of tingling numbness radiated from her palms. All the way until the lesson ended and someone called out to her from the door. “Gu Mengmeng, there’s a guy asking for you at the school gates.”
“Asking for me?” Gu Mengmeng was very surprised. Who would come looking for her at school?
Meanwhile, Snakel’s attention was focused on another crucial point. “A guy?”
Gu Mengmeng shook her head, indicating that she had no idea either. Snakel held her shoulders. “Since you don’t know, just ignore him then.”
Gu Mengmeng felt that was not very nice and said she wanted to go take a look. However, Snakel’s face instantly turned so chilly that icicles were nearly forming on it. Hence, she had no choice but to stay put.
But halfway through the second lesson, the school dean suddenly knocked on the door and waved at Gu Mengmeng. “Gu Mengmeng, come out for a moment.”
Gu Mengmeng was bewildered, but she obediently stood up. Snakel had no intention of letting go, and so just followed her hand-in-hand out of the classroom.
