Chapter 2 – To be Able to Eat is Very Fortunate

“Wa, wa, wa, wa, wa…… I’m so hungry, really hungry……” Yan Xiaoxuan’s teardrops fell down rapidly, only god knew what was wrong with her. Since she was young, she would fall and scrape herself only to easily rip off the broken skin and walk away, but if it was in any way related to eating, the tears flowed with no end until they flooded an entire village.

“What happened?” A beautiful voice suddenly entered the conversation, but it wasn’t enough to stop Yan Xiaoxuan’s tears.

“Fourth……”

All sound from the guard suddenly stopped, Yan Xiaoxuan didn’t seem to care, persistently crying until she gets full.

The other two kept a short, quiet conversation, before someone came over and called her.

“This girl……”

Girl, what girl, the girl didn’t even have mushrooms to eat! The little girl was already so hungry she couldn’t think straight!

The person seemed to sigh, then said a quiet line.

“Don’t cry…… I’ll take you to the grand visitor’s tower.”

The crying stopped abruptly.

It’s said that this was the most famous visitor’s tower in the capital.

So expensive that it would kill a person to get that amount off money……

Also, even nobles couldn’t get into this tower!!

This tower Yan Xiaoxuan certainly did not know.

She rubbed her small belly, smiling happily, glancing up at the table that had been messed up in the wind, rubbing her head in a small bit of embarrassment.

The handsome face across from her looked a little lifeless, her heart couldn’t stop pounding, will her non existent table manners scare him away? Or how she eats with no end, he didn’t seem to have any money on him?

Will she be left there to be a dish washer?

“Hehe……” Yan Xiaoxuan giggled foolishly, finally grabbing the person’s attention again.

Frankly, this person was a very beautiful one, he had a perfect face, shining gold hair, his whole body clothed in a brocaded gown.

Yes, in short, he looked way better than her dad, he looked far better than any man she had ever met!

To even treat her nicely after her episode, this man truly was the best.

“Girl……” He probably didn’t know how to address her, the corner of his mouth turning up kindly, though it looked as if he didn’t want to smile but had to, “to be able to eat is fortunate.”

When he spoke the words, Yan Xiaoxuan’s heart was extremely grateful, and she was almost going to jump over, grab his hand and cry, “Those words you speak…… I also think that to be able to eat is very fortunate, there isn’t anything in the world that’s more important than eating!”

She continued mumbling to herself, “father is making me go bankrupt, I haven’t even been able to eat my family’s poor rice.”

She said this quietly, however, the person across from her still heard her.

That person really wanted to laugh, but he decided to stay polite, a bit of his mask cracking as the corner of his mouth turned up, feeling somewhat exhausted by stifling his amusement.

“Thank you for letting me eat delicious food, if you have any problems later on, feel free to ask me for help, I will immediately try to come and help.”

“It’s nothing.” He stared in her eyes, “Forgive me if I am too forward, but may I ask for your name?”

“I’m……”

“Si…… Si Ye!” An anxious voice came from the gate, and the person across from Yan Xiaoxuan seemed to scowl, but he still proceeded to calmly say, “Come in.”

“Si Ye……” The person that the guard was escorting gave Yan Xiaoxuan a glance, not saying anything.

“Oh, it’s already this dark, I’ll leave now.” Yan XIaoxuan discreetly stood up, smiling, “If fate deems it, we’ll meet again.”

When she got to the door, she stopped, then cocked her head to seem casual, “Oh, right. I’m Yan Xuan. Xuan as in the Xuan in Xuan Cao…… Bye!”
(T/N: In chinese there are words with the same pronunciation but completely different meanings, though you probably know that if you read a lot of novels)

Her actual name was Yan Xiaoxuan, but that was too much of a boy like name. Other than people who were close to her, she would normally tell people “Yan Xuan”.

Yan…… Xuan?

“Si Ye, emperor……”

“……”

This didn’t seem right. Yan Xuan hurried home. She never came back so late, even if she was fighting with her father, he still must be worried.

It was good to go home. After all, that was where there was food.

Even though she would take the initiative, tell her father that her running away from home was bad, her father definitely wouldn’t budge, he wouldn’t give her five bowls of food, only four! It’s too cruel!

Eating the most food, Yan Xiaoxuan didn’t have the strength to resist her hunger once again, she must be obedient.
