On the gray and black great desert, everywhere was messily crushed or broken rocks and stone. Occasionally, some short and low weeds or bushes grew out from the middle of those crushed rocks and stones as it seemed like that person had to bend or lie down on the ground to see them.
Looking far away to the surroundings on the northwest horizon, the towering barren mountain range was just a black long shadow in the world. If looking to other directions, people could see blue sky and paddy-fields. As the distance was getting further, the blue color of the sky gradually disappeared, the black color of the earth slowly faded. Till the end, the entire sky and earth had just one ash-gray color, which made people unable to tell the difference between sky and earth.
This was the Gobi Desert, one of the three Great Desert of the main surface.
On the so-called "Main Surface" mainland, there were many big and small deserts. Among them, there were three especially big Deserts, respectively located in the northwest, northeast and southeast mainland.
The northwest desert was called the Gobi Desert. Its characteristic was having lots of rocks. Except for the center area of the desert, most of the remaining area didn’t have much sand but was mainly covered by ash gray and black rubbles. There were many gales and sandstorms here. Hence, it was called "Black Storm". Once the sandstorms came up, even the legendary powerhouse had to run for their life. Due to that reason, the west barren mountain range and the east Wilderness Empire were absolutely separated. Only merchants who were not scared of death had dared to pass it with the help of the weather forecast magic to seek for a sudden huge profit----the majority of them didn’t have news or could be found since they departed.
The northeast desert was called the Falling Death Desert. This desert was a bit long and narrow, and scattered along the coastline. The north pole of this desert was adjacent to the Dragon Mountain Range, while the south pole was adjacent to the Blue Moon Kingdom border, separating the Holy Angel Kingdom with the sea. People said that a long time ago, when this desert had not existed in the place, the Great Army of the Holy Angel Kingdom and the marines of the habitants living in this long and narrow coastline were involved in an intense fight. The Gods from both sides had the same ending. After that earth-shaking war, several hundred miles of this coast turned into an ash-yellow desert. Until today, sometimes, people could still see really big corpses along with broken weapons in the desert. Many devil creatures haunted that place. Hence, the "death" and "falling" name of the desert came from that.
The desert on the Southeast was the Golden Desert, which considered the nice guy among the three Great Deserts. There were no terrible sandstorms or horrible devil creatures here, but only blue sky blending with a yellow desert. The tiny grains of sand looked like gold under the sunlight. If standing at the border of the desert and looking to the sun on the horizon, and it was like a world-famous beautiful scenery. However, this desert was extremely exhausted. There was almost no water source that could be found in this desert. Even for the one who didn’t lose his way thanks to the navigation spell, thirst and hotness were enough to take his life.
If Sui Xiong wanted to get to the Mystique Tower Federation, he had to pass the barren mountain range then cross the Gobi desert, go along a yellow rock mountain to the south, across the woody marsh, get through the Broken Cloud Mountain Range, then pass through the Immemorial Forest to finally reach the Mystique Tower Federation.
There were dangers everywhere along this way. Normal people who dared to go on this way must be sick of living. Even the veteran adventurers’ faces changed colors when they heard of this. Under normal circumstance, to go from the Mystique Tower Federation to the Northwest four towns, the most reliable method was by sea and then changed to walking when reaching the Gold Coin Federation to pass through the jag of the barren mountain range on the south to reach the Black Rye Town.
But that path was a huge circle. In addition, there were a lot of dangers in the sea. He was not afraid of the danger in the sea or the danger on the mainland. Not to mention, his way of moving was floating not walking. Thus, the rough road had a very limited impact on him. Therefore, after consideration, he still chose to go straight.
Anyway... among those two options, going straight was still the shortest.
Going straight was an exclusive benefit of a powerhouse.
Sui Xiong inflated his body to more than hundred meters in the air, leisurely headed south, and floated slightly toward to the east. After floating for a while, he would stop to do the navigation spell to determine the coordinate then continue floating forward.
The place he wanted to get to was a small city called the Gold Tower, located in the mid-west of the Mystique Tower Federation. The reason why it had this name was that there was a Gold Magic tower which stood tall and upright in the middle of the city ------the Mystique Tower federation was naturally surrounded by magic towers, which formed into a city. In this place, all the residents were shamans and disciples. To be able to be an official, one had to be at least a relative of a shaman if he was not a caster. Therefore, the name "Shaman Country" came from this.
However, at that year when the federation was established, they had gone through hundreds of years of ups and downs. The Shaman Country today was no longer pure as before. There were many more bureaucrats and aristocrats.
For example, such-and-such high-level shaman’s relatives all wanted to obtain power and status. Some disciples of a legendary shaman all required the locals to arrange accommodations for them. The previous generation had tried hard but the young generation would naturally inherit the power and status...
Satan was originally a young genius of the Gold Tower, having a bright future ahead. But since this innate man who had conflicted with a grandchild of an advanced shaman, his future became gloomy. After encountering an upheaval in life, he finally gave up the thought of safely developing in his native land, decided to leave his hometown and become an adventurer.
That event... happened approximately ten years ago.
Ten years of wandering and adventuring had made him say goodbye to the innocent teenage years as he grew up being a veteran adventurer, and stepped into the mid-level shaman realm.
If he wasn’t forced to leave his hometown, he would have needed five years to mature to the level as he was right now.
When he told this story, all the old scores could clearly be seen. Through the spirit sensing, Sui Xiong could be thoroughly clear about the anger and resentment in his mind.
