The vast Ancient Wood Desolate Marsh was widely acknowledged as the most dangerous region to an adventurer.
In this place, there were not only numerous ferocious beasts and demons, but also countless of snake-poisonous creatures. The natural environment was also extremely vile. Soil could not be seen on the ground as everywhere was covered with ponds, duckweeds or aquatic grasses, which completely blocked the line of the sight. Except for those adventurers with rich experience, although Lei was a veteran adventurer, he himself could also not determine where on earth his step would land; whether it would be solid mud or bottomless mud pit.
Only a problem with the ground was still acceptable. But the air also had the same problem. Due to the damp climate, the great amount of bushes and vines grew here. Everywhere was densely packed with roots hanging down from the old trees. Countless branches were like snakes, intertwining each other, blocking the road. Lei had no choice but to use the sharp hatchet in his hands to constantly cut those branches, opening the path.
Here, in these branches and vines often had vipers and ferocious beasts living inside. Not only once that when Lei chopped with his hatchet, did a viper vigorously fly out and attack him.
Fortunately, Lei’s ability was powerful. Before that, he had heard warnings from the adventurers in the Gerton’s dominion to be careful in the marsh. He had been extremely cautious all along. Hence, he was not hit by its attack.
However, such a situation clearly slowed down the journey of a team. Especially, after having passed some solid regions, and when they got closer to the border of the marsh, , their advancement became more challenging.
Other troubles could be dealt with, but the trouble under their feet was unable to be solved. No matter how powerful Lei’s capability was, it had to be nurtured properly to display its full potential. There was time that he clearly felt that he had stepped onto the mud and rugged weeds. But the result was when his other foot managed to step in, those weeds and mud broke into pieces. The ground under his feet immediately turned into a bottomless mud pit, which made him very battered and exhausted.
What more disgusting was that the lush vegetation and branches from the old trees connecting into one piece covered half of the sunlight. Although at noon, the ground here still looked a little bit dark. At the other times of the rest oof the day, except for the evening, one could not basically see anything under their feet.
After having encountered dangers many times consecutively, Sui Xiong directly launched a floating disk technique, created an invisible disk drifting around one meter above the ground (or the water surface), let him stand on top of that.
The floating disk technique was the very commonly seen beginner technique. It could be able to create a round disk, which could carry not-so-heavy objects. To those rookie little shamans, this was a very convenient spell, which could help them run on muddy and craggy terrain, also transport some bits and bobs.
The duration of this spell was very long. Even though a low-level shaman like Palin could also maintain the disk which he made by this spell for approximately four, five hours-----right now, without any limitation, it could be at least double----- and with Sui Xiong’s ability, when he cast this spell...
Generally speaking, the limitation for the duration of this spell was one day because a normal person would need a full rest every day. And to a shaman, after a sufficient rest, his magic-casting ability would be fully restored. He then could cast that magic once again. Therefore, the duration of one day was an important target. There were many times that to lengthen the magic duration to this target, shamans definitely had to train the "Delay Magic" technique diligently, to double the duration of the magic effect.
Due to the demand of prolonging the magic duration, many powerful advanced shamans had invented a technique named "Magic Prolongation" technique, which ignored the original duration of a magic, directly prolonged it for a whole day. To be able to master this technique, at least one had to pass their past target.
But by merely relying on the most basic magic-casting ability, Sui Xiong had been already able to maintain the magic floating disk for more than a day. When Stelle asked how long that magic could last, he bluntly did an experiment and changed the floating disk besides.
As a result, that floating disk lasted from the noon of that day to the noon of the second day without disappearing. In the evening of the second day, it still didn’t disappear. Until the morning of the third day, everyone had just found out that they hadn’t seen it last night. But no one noticed when on earth it had vanished.
"So powerful!" Stelle constantly praised, "Indeed a God! I have never heard someone who doesn’t rely on any specific technique can maintain that magic in a long time like this with just a basic magic-casting ability!"
Lei silenced, let it pass. He was tongue-tied on the inside.
He didn’t expect that the jellyfish god who disguised as a hat on his head was a super mighty shaman!
An inaccurate result obviously would not satisfy everyone. Hence, Sui Xiong once again launched the magic. This time, he had made up his mind to wait until the magic dissolved to calculate the exact time even if he had to lose his sleep.
"Uhm, I also feel interested." Lei said.
"Me too!"
Yet, the progress of a situation often went beyond everyone’s expectation. On the next day of trekking, they encountered a surprise.
After lunch, a group of three (or we could say a group of one human) continued moving forward.
Because of that coincidental matter with the King of Lust, Sui Xiong had a mixed feeling about the God declare matter and was a little worried. He put his mind into carefully studying the material of the God of Salvation, to check about the God of Lust, making an attempt to spin silk from cocoons, finding the possible existence of the problem.
Owing to his distraction, he could not immediately react to an intense enmity, which suddenly flooded over.
To be honest, he couldn’t be blamed for this. Right now, the situation was completely different from when they started. After adapting the environment in the dense forest, the advancement of the team could not merely rely on him.
Stelle was worthy of being a Divine Creature. She couldn’t only fly high and quick, but her body could also shift between a virtual form and an entity. After a period of time, she could turn into a virtual form, ignored the dense population of trees and vines , and also wasn’t scared of any attack from the serpent or ferocious beast, fearlessly passed the marsh in the dense forest, easily learned about the danger in front then came back to report.

Lei wasn’t worried about falling into the mud pit while standing on top of the invisible disk as well. With his exquisite horsemanship, he immediately got accustomed to this kind of traveling method. He relaxingly swung up his hatchet to chop off vines and branches along the way. If he came across an attack of a serpent, he would also not need to waste any effort to fight back because it basically couldn’t reach him.
Except for the same nasty environment, the same dusky surrounding, the condition of the marsh in the dense forest might only have a tiny bit impact on them.
But right at this moment, a surprise happened!
At that time, Stelle flew on the branch above to investigate the danger in front, then conveniently found a suitable place for the camping-----here, at noon, a campsite was found. Lei was as usual, standing on that floating disk, chopping off those obstacles along the way to open a path. Everything seemed to be normal like before.
But when he chopped off a thick branch of tree, a green serpent immediately flew out. Almost at the same time, not far away from the marsh, a giant black shadow suddenly leaped over, struck an attack on him.
Without any preparation, Lei suddenly swung up his sharp hatchet to chop. However, when his sharp hatchet hit that black shadow, it was like a wooden blade chopping down some leather item, which was both slippery and soft, as well as tenacious. As it immediately avoided, there was no place being hit on the shadow.
But the last strike of the hatchet also had some effects. That black shadow also dodged to the side as the hatchet slipped past his body.
Without any hesitation, Lei directly threw his hatchet down, took out his word.
His sword was not only sophisticated made, but it had also been strengthened by the magic of a shaman. It could be called a masterpiece among the enchanted weapons. With this sword in hand, he still had a confidence in winning even if he faced a Giant Dragon (but the actually result was another matter). Was this black shadow, regardless what it was, perhaps more powerful than the Giant Dragon?
He growled, leaped his body over then felt some intense danger. He didn’t have enough time think carefully, staggered back a little bit, then jumped down suddenly.
A streak of black shadow swept across him, brought along a fishy gale, smashed down while screaming crazily. It was like a towering old tree toppling over in front of him or a mountain falling down in front of him. With just one swipe, he immediately crushed the floating disk into pieces, splattered the mud into both sides, which were like two walls, hitting toward left and right.
Lei’s body was in the middle of the sky, without any place to borrow force. But his face didn’t show any hint of fear at all. His two eyes were glaring. As his both hands were holding the long swords, he faced the water wall, cruelly smashed down.
The sound of the sword chopping the water was like the resounding and low one from an axe chopping down a big tree.
A gap was slit open on the water wall by Lei’s sword. A torrent always swiped across his body. Maybe, his reaction was a little slow. Along with the hiss sound, a bloody mouth wide open like a sacrificial bowl slapped onto his face.
In this split of second, he had already seen the real face of the enemy clearly---that was a frightening giant serpent. The width of its flat body was about the same length with that of a person lying down horizontally. He temporarily could not see the length clearly. With careful estimation, its length was about more than ten meters. There were scales, which were bigger than his palm, along its body. A pair of dark red eyes on its triangle head emitted a brutal and cruel light. Its giant mouth, which was as if able to swallow a cow directly, let out some disgusting stinky smell. The venomous fangs hidden in the dark could make people’s hair stand up.
"What on earth is it!" He angrily cursed inside, put his hands behind his back, took out the pike, stabbed the giant serpent with his full force.
His marksmanship and fencing skill was superior. One pike from him didn’t have a slightest mistake although it was struck down in a hurry. It hit correctly in the giant serpent’s mouth, maybe in the gum position. This part was clearly not hard because it had no scales. This correct hit from this pike gave him more advantages to borrow force, escaping from the danger of being buried in this serpent’s stomach.
But to a giant serpent, this pike could not cause it serious injuries. It didn’t even show a look of being in pain. It was just a little shocked. Its body suddenly shrank, rolled into a ball, putting on the typical pose of a snake when one prepared to attack.
While it was rolling its body, its triangle head vibrated slightly. Its appearance was not much different from any ordinary venomous snakes.
The only difference was that it was too big, like a small mountain.
Lei turned his body in the air, steadily stood on a big section of a branch. With the pike in his left hand and the sword in his right hand, he showed his most comprehensive fighting pose.
Truthfully speaking, his heart was bottomless. Although he was pretty confident in his martial art, which he might learn from some skillful fighters, how could he fight with a giant serpent? He really didn’t know.
But right now, he clearly could not make any last-minute hasty effort, finding a teacher to diligently learn---not to mention, there would not be any teacher specialized in this matter as well. What he could do was to freshen up his spirit, put all force into fighting with this giant serpent.
Luckily, behind him was also a mighty backup. There was also another companion, who would come back in no time. This was also not a one-man fight.
When thinking about his two companions, especially that thing which pretended to be a hat on his head, his heart suddenly got some strength.
"Too big... If throwing this damned thing into a mouth of a jellyfish... it will definitely be full to the point of bursting!"
Bringing along an irreverent thinking, Lei swayed his weapons, threw himself into fighting with the giant serpent.
