“Miss Charlotte, why are you on this highway?” Hill Nandes asked. “Are you traveling?”
“No, I’m here for work, but my client left me on the highway. I’m so unlucky. Don’t let me catch that b*stard.”
“Why did he leave you on the road?”
“Because he was controlled by evil spirits. At least, that’s what I think.”
Hill actually didn’t have any reaction. Instead, he asked Charlotte many questions curiously.
“Hill, do you believe Ms. Charlotte’s words?”
“I’m writing a supernatural story recently. Charlotte’s words gave me a lot of inspiration.”
“Uh…”
You really have a wide range of interests.
Chen Zhao felt speechless, but it was good that they were talking.
At least, Hill didn’t have to annoy him.
Hill brought Charlotte to her home. It was a small wooden house in a suburb surrounded by barren land.
There wasn’t a single neighbor, let alone any stores.
Charlotte invited everyone to go in and sit, but they rejected her.
After all, it was getting late. They had to hurry and check in to the hotel.
Hill started the car. Charlotte suddenly called for them to stop. “Mr. Chen, can you come down for a second?”
Chen Zhao thought for a moment and got out of the car.
“Anything wrong?”
“Mr. Chen, are you a spiritualist?”
“Kind of.”
“There are a few supernatural organizations in New York. As an outsider, it’s best if you don’t expose your identity.”
“Is it dangerous?”
“Usually no, but you have to be extra careful of the Evil Spirit Society.”
“What Evil Spirit Society?”
“It’s a force established by an ancient and strong evil spirit. It’s even stronger than all the spiritualists in New York. The organization would fight with other forces. Outsider spiritualists would especially become their target.”
“Okay, I understand. Thank you for your reminder. Goodbye.”
“Bye.”
Everyone arrived at the hotel. Other than the two rooms that the school booked for him and Hill Nandes, Chen Zhao also booked two other rooms.
“Brother, can me and Cheryl have a room to ourselves?”
“No.”
“Then why are there two rooms?”
It wasn’t like Chen Zhao could tell them that the room was for a Grim Reaper, right?
“Mr. Chen, are you free tonight? We can sit and have a nice chat.”
“Sorry, no time. I’m really tired. I have to rest.”
Hill wouldn’t let go of any chance to spend time alone with Chen Zhao.
Chen Zhao even suspected that if Hill was a woman, he would dive right into his arms.
Okay, he didn’t want to think about that.
Everyone was tired today, so they had to catch up on sleep.
However, just as Chen Zhao changed into his pajamas and laid down, Blackie came out of the wall again.
“Chen Zhao, I need help.”
“Blackie, can we go from the front and knock on the door? This is really disturbing.”
Even after interacting with Blackie for half a year, Chen Zhao still wasn’t used to it.
Blackie coming out of the wall all the time really made Chen Zhao tired.
“I’ll be careful next time,” Blackie said. “But can you help me? I have unwanted guests in my room.”
“What do you mean?”
After opening Blackie’s door, Chen Zhao heard chaotic heavy metal music inside.
A young man in his twenties was drinking while f*cking a girl.
Chen Zhao clapped his hands. “Guys, this is someone’s room. Why are you here?”
The naked man and woman turned to look at Chen Zhao. “Get out!” the girl shrieked. “Get! Out!”
Chen Zhao plugged his ears. “You’re the ones who should be getting out.”
Just then, the woman suddenly flew over and pounced on Chen Zhao.
This movement definitely wasn’t what a normal person should do.
Her strength wasn’t like a regular woman either. Her nails were sharp and hurt Chen Zhao as she grabbed him.
Chen Zhao raised his hand. He grabbed the woman’s neck and lifted her in the air.
But this woman didn’t struggle and get suffocated like a regular woman. She was still attacking Chen Zhao crazily.
The man also pounced at Chen Zhao. Chen Zhao raised a leg and sent the man flying to the ground.
Chen Zhao swung the woman out of the door. He was about to throw the man out too, when a spirit suddenly came out of his body. It pounced at Chen Zhao.
When the spirit appeared, Blackie also moved.
“Ah!”
The scythe swept past softly. The spirit was hooked away.
Next, a spirit also came out of the woman that Chen Zhao had tossed out the door.
“What did you do? What did you do to Addleway?” the female evil spirit yelled in fury. “You’re dead, you’re dead! Grandfather won’t forgive you! Let go Addleway go. Hurry and let him go!”
“How about you come and accompany him?”
With that, Blackie acted again. The female evil spirit couldn’t even react before she was hooked away by Blackie’s scythe.
“What’s going on? Possession?” Chen Zhao was confused.
“I don’t understand either,” Blackie said. “I didn’t discover anything before this.”
Chen Zhao called the hotel’s front desk. “You guys better come over. I booked a room, but someone broke into it. If you can’t give me a satisfactory explanation, I’ll report your hotel.”
Shortly after, a manager and two guards came up. They saw the unconscious couple on the ground.
“Sir, hello. I am Iveline, the manager. Can you tell me what happened?”
“This is my room, but when I opened the door, not only were people there, they also attacked me. I knocked them out. I need an explanation. What happened and how will you take care of this?”
Iveline’s expression wasn’t good. If Chen Zhao’s accusations were true, then it was a huge mistake on their part.
“Go check,” she said to the employee beside her.
Soon, the employee came back. “Manager, this sir booked three rooms, including this one. As for the two people, we don’t know why they’re here either. But no one has stayed in this room for a long while. It’s been empty for around three years. Once, guests in the neighboring room complained that this room would often have heavy metal music and the sound of sex.”
“And you never checked this room before this?”
“No, because it always showed that no one was staying in it.”
Iveline had a headache. No matter the reason, it was the hotel’s mistake.
“Sir, how about this? I’ll upgrade your three rooms to a luxury suite as your compensation. All of you and your friends’ bills within the hotel for the next three days will also be free.”
“Agree, agree,” Blackie urged from the side.
