Primordial Blood Throne: Book 1 Chapter 7 – Meeting

To the west of the Su Family’s estate was a mountain; at the foot of the mountain was a river winding through it; on both sides of the river were two plots of fertile land, a dense forest within; it could be considered as a good place with an enchanting scenery.

Su Chen’s courtyard was located at the back portion of the Su Estate. Walking to the back of the courtyard, one could see a wall. On the wall was a small gate, and when you passed the gate there was a bamboo forest. After traversing through the bamboo forest, you would be far on the mountain path.

During his time of boredom, Su Chen would often travel to the mountain to relax.

Tonight was no different. Su Chen was currently sitting on a large rock within the mountain.

The night mountain forest was quiet…silent, even the birds did not chirp, leaving only the sound of the wind blowing through to be heard.

However, to Su Chen’s ears, the forest was never quiet nor simple.

Without the clamoring noises of the day, he could clearly capture the most minute of sounds, training his hearing ability.

Most importantly, there was no man-made raucous, allowing his mind to be in a state of peace.

Not far off, he heard the flow of water, that should have been where the mountain spring was flowing.

Although he could not see but a picture began to surface within Su Chen’s mind: the gurgling sound of spring water flowing down the mountain, reaching and spilling over cliffs, creating a small waterfall. Over a long period of impact, a small pond began to form under the cliff, waves formed as water fell into the pool below.

Su Chen sat along a streamlet, listening to it.

Suddenly, he stretched his hand and grabbed at the streamlet. A small flower that was flowing downstream was caught in his hand.

Su Chen sniffed the flower, inhaling the faint fragrance from within, and the corners of his mouth raised into a smile.

Not only his hearing, even his sense of smell had also improved.

Through the refreshing flower scent, Su Chen knew it was a Weeping Red Flower, a type of mountain flower that possessed a thick fragrance.

A few more threads of fragrance floated towards him, from the upstream of the streamlet, flower upon flower of Weeping Red began to flow down.

Su Chen felt strange. This was a period where the mountain flowers were blooming healthily, so why is there a large amount of it falling?

He followed the stream upwards.

After walking a while, he eventually reached the bottom of the cliff. The sound of the waterfall filled the place but, still, he could faintly hear an irregular stirring on the water’s surface.

Su Chen suddenly reacted.

“Who is it?” a delicate voice asked.

Su Chen did not know what to do, he is now acting on instinct, he turned his head away and looked at the ground.

The pleasant voice once again spoke, “Since you cannot see, why are you here walking alone?”

Su Chen smiled: “Who says that a blind man cannot walk on his own?
