Chapter 134 – Prodigal Beings
Guo Shan’s mountain peak had a magnificent scenery, and the air was filled with the rich fragrance of herbs which made anyone who smelled it feel relaxed and refreshed at mind. Cultivating here for just one day was almost equal to ten days of cultivation outside.
A table made entirely from crystals was placed next to the herbal plantation fields. Three people and a dog was sitting on each side. Big Yellow’s eyes were wide as he stared at the herb plantation field in front of him, he was constantly drooling and wetting the table surface. Jiang Chen placed his palm on his forehead and shook his head. This dog was really here to disgrace him.
If it wasn’t for Big Yellow being so scared of Guo Shan’s Divine Core pressure, he would have already dived into the plantation field and begun his feast.
“Brother Jiang, I suppose this young lady is Yan Chen Yu?”
Guo Shan looked at Yan Chen Yu. Even someone like him couldn’t help but give Yan Chen Yu a big thumbs up. She was such a stunning beauty, and only a girl like this could be matched with the peerless genius Jiang Chen.
“That’s right, she is my fiancée, Yan Chen Yu. Xiao Yu, you should greet Sect Elder Guo.”
Jiang Chen said.
A bright smile appeared on Yan Chen Yu’s face. She nodded her head towards Guo Shan and greeted, “Xiao Yu greets Sect Elder Guo.”
“No need to be so polite, Xiao Yu. Since you are brother Jiang’s fiancée, you can just address me as older brother like Jiang Chen does.”
Guo Shan burst out in a fit of laughter. He was a bright and straightforward man, similar to Jiang Chen. That was the reason why he and Jiang Chen could become friends regardless of their age difference. If it was only because of Jiang Chen’s alchemy skills, their relationship wouldn’t be this good.
“Thank you older brother for helping, Jiang Chen is really grateful for that.”
Jiang Chen cupped his fist towards Guo Shan. What he just said had come from the bottom of his heart. If Guo Shan hadn’t helped today, the matter could have gone worse. Let alone Fan Zhong Tang, he wouldn’t even have been able to fight Fan Kun with his current abilities.
“Don’t mention it. We are brothers, and when my brother is in trouble, as the older brother, I can’t just sit back and watch.”
Guo Shan waved his hand and asked Jiang Chen to not be so courteous, then he said, “No matter what, it was all because of the Sect Chief that this matter could be resolved so easily. But, I can understand why he did it. A peerless genius like you has never appeared in the history of the Black Sect. The Burning Sky Pavilion has Nan Bei Chao, his strong appearance has shaken the grounds of the Qi Province, and if he is given a few more years to become a super strong man, the balance between the four big sects might be broken. The other three sects would be facing the threat of the Burning Sky Pavilion, and they might even be completely annihilated. Now that you have shown potential not any weaker than Nan Bei Chao’s, frankly speaking, you are the hope of the Black Sect’s future. If I was the Sect Chief, I would be siding with you and protect you as well.”
Although Guo Shan didn’t bother much about the matters of the Black Sect, he did pay attention to the big matters within the Qi Province. For a long time, the four big sects of the Qi Province had always been in conflict with each other, but they had maintained a balanced state. However, the appearance of Nan Bei Chao had told everyone that this balance was soon going to be broken. Therefore, for the Black Sect, the appearance of Jiang Chen meant a chance.
“Nan Bei Chao is a really talented and strong guy, he is destined for greatness, and he has enough potential to conquer the world. He is not a simple guy, if a man like him is allowed to grow to a certain stage, the tiny Qi Province won’t even be enough to qualify as his playground.”
Jiang Chen nodded his head in agreement. He had better judgment than Guo Shan. The first time he had seen Nan Bei Chao, he already knew that he wasn’t an ordinary genius. Nan Bei Chao was born with a tremendous destiny. Combined with his incredible talent, he could possibly be compared with those exceptional geniuses of the Divine Continent. Besides, Nan Bei Chao was a man with wild ambitions. Someone like that, not only the Qi Province, even the Eastern Continent won’t be able to hold him for long.
“I didn’t know your opinion of Nan Bei Chao was so good.”
Guo Shan was pretty surprised by Jiang Chen’s opinion. Although he and Jiang Chen had just known each other for a short period of time, he knew Jiang Chen’s temper quite well. All geniuses had their pride, and the pride of a genius like Jiang Chen was even greater than anyone else’s. Now that even Jiang Chen thought so highly of Nan Bei Chao, this told Guo Shan that Nan Bei Chao was really not a simple guy.
With a smile on his face, Jiang Chen stopped his comment. Nan Bei Chao was really somebody, but Jiang Chen was not scared of him. When Nan Bei Chao chose to become Jiang Chen’s enemy, his destiny had changed, and he would certainly receive a miserable ending.
“Brother, you actually go too far today, you set a bad example of what lawfulness is. Also, because the Sect Chief sided with you, I’m afraid there will be some complaints from the high class Sect Elders.”
Guo Shan said.
“Does older brother know why I wanted to wreak havoc today?”
Jiang Chen sneered.
“I don’t know, why?”
Hearing what Jiang Chen said, Guo Shan became startled. It looked like there really were some reasons behind everything that he didn’t know of. What Jiang Chen had done today was definitely not something as simple as bringing justice back to his fellow disciples.
“A few days ago, I ventured into the Myriad Demon Mountains and had some adventures. Someone tried hunting me down in sector two, and the one who tried to kill me was Jiang Wei, the one who was killed by me on the deathmatch stage. The reason I wreaked havoc today was to find out the mastermind behind everything.”
Jiang Chen didn’t hide anything from Guo Shan. Besides, telling him everything wasn’t a bad thing either.
“What? Jiang Wei was trying to hunt you down? Are there any grudges between you two?”
Guo Shan was shocked; he never expected this to happen.
“I never met him before that, so how could there be any grudges? When Jiang Wei chased me that night, he told me I had offended someone I shouldn’t, and had challenged the authority of someone I shouldn’t have. Then, that Fan Kun jumped out today after all the disturbances, and you could see how determined he was to kill me. What I’m guessing is, Jiang Wei was sent by Fan Kun to hunt me down, because when Jiang Wei was hurt by the Silent Poisonous Needle, he asked Fan Kun for help. It’s pretty obvious that he thought Fan Kun had the antidote.”
Jiang Chen explained everything to Guo Shan. He was extremely brilliant and he had a clear mind, with even the smallest piece of evidence, he could find the roots of the whole thing.
