Chapter 15: He figured it out (2)

 I went back to the hotel, Jiang Li also had returned. Bitterly, while lying on the bed I thought about Wang Kai’s last wcords. 

‘If other person wants to play then you should also play back by multiple times, to see who will play whom in the end.’

I realized I really did not have this ability, if I start to play around with somebody’s feelings, then I am pretty sure that before even finishing the game, I would develop true feelings. He Zhi often scolded me, called me an emotional fool, who could only suffer in the end …..Seemed whatever she yelled was true. So my admiration towards Wang Kai increased more and more. He would play with other’s emotions without feelings any discomfort and guilty conscience? This man, Wang Kai seemed to have a fair sense of obligation but if he really put me under the same category as his girlfriends, then I really could not be friends with him.

While I was thinking endlessly, Jiang Li suddenly spoke: “is today your birthday?”

I was shocked: "Huh? Yeah, how did you know? "
 
Jiang Li was quiet for a bit, eventually said: "well, happy birthday."
 
This friendly move of his scared my heart a little. I giggled twice and said: “Happy, happy of course.” 
Finding my action somewhat strange Jiang Li asked: “So happy, did that guy give you anything good, huh?”

I retorted back: "Instant noodles! He really kindled the blaze in my stomach!”

Jiang Li snorted contemptuously and said: “This kind of thing as a gift? Really he can give you anything and you will still be happy.”

 Already accustomed with his caustic tongue, I did not care about his words. Pushing my luck I asked: “Well, Have you prepared any present for me?”

Jiang Li, like an upright tree, in a definitive tone replied: “No.” My goodness and you did not feel bad about it, not even a little bit?

Seeing the expression on my face, Jiang Li, for the first time, did not say anything disagreeing: “what do you want. I will get it to replenish you.”
 
I thought for a while, then shook my head and said: “Forget it, as it’s we two are neither relatives nor friends.”

Jiang Li did not acquiesce to my words: "How can you say that. You are my wife.”
 
I firmly shook my head: "No, the two of us are unfamiliar to each other." Actually, my main worry was, if Jiang Li gifts me something, and when his birthday comes I would also have to gift him something back of the equal or greater price and value, if I ask Jiang Li about this upcoming expenditure………..it seemed too much trouble so did not say anything.

It was too early to go to bed, so I pulled out my laptop to go online. There were a few QQ messages by my friends wishing me happy birthday. He Zhi had also left a rude message: ‘Xiao Yan, congratulations for getting an year older…’

Maldives was four hours behind Beijing in time; He Zhi must already be asleep by this time. I was bored to death but could not do much other than going to the game forum. 
After surfing the forum for a while, found someone to chat with me.

Romance after the dusk: “Yan Yan, you have not slept yet.”

In order to ignore him I hid my status and decided to keep being hidden till he sleeps. 
 
Then, he sent me a message: "I know you're invisible."
 
I was terrified and immediately wrote back: “how did you know?”
 
Romance after the dusk: "I just guessed, I really did not expect that you will reply stupidly.”

That one sentence was really common but that black inked italicized last word, in my eyes, was grinning triumphantly: stupid see, stupid right……I was getting really angry thus stopped paying any attention to him.

 A moment later, he left a new message.

Romance after the dusk: "Yan Yan, I have figured out."

Me: "?"

Romance after the dusk: "Although your face is kind of okay but your figure is not very hot, your ideas are very old-fashioned, you are not only a coward but also lack enthusiasm, basically you can’t communicate well with others moreover you don’t even understand the concept of amorous feelings and key point is your reaction is very slow which proves that you have a very low IQ.” 

I was fuming, his mother, his father, his grandmother……..!
 

Laughing Yan Yan: "So, your so called ‘figured out’ was about how to belittle me?”

Romance after the dusk: “Actually I figured out why a person like you is unfit to become a man’s lover.”

Gritting my teeth I replied: "You just had to report all the findings of your research to me at midnight, while chatting online and that too in detail, lucky me!”


Romance after the dusk: “Thus we can still be friends and I promise that I won’t judge or hold anything against you.”

Actually narcissism is a combat technique, that can shatter your courage, split your guts and liver, burn your inside completely…..


Romance after the dusk saw no reply from my side hence added: "Why, you are moved to tears, right?"
 
Trembling, I typed: "Sweating ...."
