JIANG LI BULLIED ME (2)

Carrying a bag of some sort he was walking towards the main entrance from the other side, just like me. When I saw him, Embarrassed, I laughed a bit and greeted him: “Uh, What a coincidence…..”

Without waiting for Jiang Li’s reply Wang Kai quickly stepped out of his car. He walked up to me, handed me a paper bag, smiled and said: “Your clothes.”

I took it and forced a smile at him: “Ah, Thank you for today.” After all I was still a salaried employee at his office.

“No, today your services made me really happy.” said Wang Kai pointing a tooth bearing smirk at me.

Dark lines appeared on my forehead. I stood still in my place, did not know what to do.

At this point Jiang Li blankly looked at me and Wang Kai from top to bottom then bottom to top, to
and fro, and then looked again. Finally he threw out some words but still with the same deadpan expressions: “Come on, I am cooking tonight.”

I was immediately scared to death by his sentence. I remained glued to my spot, not willing to move at all.

Wrinkling his eyebrows Jiang Li dragged me upstairs.

I was quite sure that Wang Kai would find this bizarre, Jiang Li was ready to cook the dinner and I was still not happy, why?

He would not understand, would never understand. Since he had never experienced it, so he would never understand…..practice is the only criterion of inspecting the truth, this old saying was absolutely correct.

Jiang Li dragged me in the living room, threw his bag on the coffee table and then threw me on the couch. I crouched on the couch, laughed nervously a little, wanted to explain everything to him but did not know from where I should start.

Frowning, Jiang Li with a little sharpness asked: “Couple outfit? Even you shoes are matching?”

*original word is 狗腿子gǒu tuǐ zi which means dog-leg but the implied meaning is ‘a servile follower’ and functional translation is henchman or lackey. 
 

Raising his eyebrows Jiang Li asked: “Then do you care to explain why you left your office without uttering a single word to me? After leaving the office also you had plenty of time to call me but you didn’t? Even if you could not call at least you could have picked up your phone when I rang you.”

Feeling dreadful, I reluctantly said: “My mobile phone is missing.”

Jiang Li was stunned and did not speak anything for a minute….I thought he would definitely laugh and call me stupid.

Then Jiang Li started enjoying my massage peacefully. After a moment he suddenly said: “Today your services made me very happy.”

Oh God!! How could he follow the lead of a person like Wang Kai, who had nothing but bad things to teach?

Gaining Jiang Li’s approval I felt a little relieved and then carefully asked: “So can I go and cook dinner for us now?”

Jiang Li closed his eyes and waved his hand to send me away.

I quickly gathered the bags lying on the coffee table and rushed towards the kitchen as if I was running for my life.

I realized that my life was truly pathetic. As even when Jiang Li wanted to cook, first I had to coax him out of it nicely and then ask for his permission to cook dinner for him….

At night, burning with excitement I happily reported the day’s events to Jiang Li, rendering special focus on how cool and poised I was while facing Yu Zhi Fei. Naturally I wanted to ask Jiang Li, my military adviser
, for the next step.

Jiang Li, who was sitting in front of his laptop, was looking at something on the screen. After listening to my report he beckoned me forward. So I walked towards his laptop.

I stared at the opened webpage on the screen for a moment, said: “This site looks a bit familiar to me. Ah, I have seen it somewhere.”

Surprised, Jiang Li glanced at me: “This is your blog.”

Me: “Oh, my blog….wait a minute, how do you know this is my blog?”

Jiang Li in a very casual and indifferent tone said: “Some of the stuff in your blog is truly at elementary school student’s level.”

Hey!!!

He added: “Over the recent months the total number of page-views of your blog is five, four out of which are from the same IP address.”

I blinked in confusion: “Then what?”

Jiang Li: “Then I followed it, found the IP user and turned out it was Yu Zhi Fei.”

I said nothing, Jiang Li stared at me for some time and then asked: “Your Ex’s name is Yu Zhi Fei or not?”

I wiped off my sweat. Jiang Li truly wasn’t ashamed of his cannibalistic* nature.

*his ability to eat other people virtually.

But I still had some questions: “Jiang Li, ultimately what is it that you want to do?”

Jiang Li opened his delicate and thin lips slightly and spew out the words: “Show affection.”

I shuddered a bit and had barely reacted when he opened up the log-in page of my blog. Shocked, I shook him immediately: “You…..you will not be able to log in to my blog?”

Jiang Li looked at me as if he was looking at a fool and very calmly said: “If I have to hack in to the account of a master then it could be a tad difficult but hacking the account of an idiot is as easy as turning my hand.”

Obviously, the ‘idiot’ he talked about was me or I was at least one of those ‘idiots’. So I went crazy with anger, grabbed the collar of his shirt and bitterly spoke: “I beg of you, please a paltry thing like hacking won’t do you any good. Don’t you think that you should renew your already expired morals!!”

Jiang Li slowly removed my fingers from his collar, the corner of his mouth curled up: “I also have only best intentions for you at my heart. If you will manage your own blog then in the end it will be difficult to show Yu Zhi Fei how much in love we are with each other.”

I angrily yelled: “But we are not in love!!”

Jiang Li nonchalantly replied: “That’s not important. What’s important is that you want to hold your head high in front of your former beau so faking a few things is alright.”

I patted his head, seemingly there was still a bit of morality left in him. Thus I compromised and said: “Well, you are right. But I still need some time to prepare myself so please don’t march ahead and
create trouble right now.” Even though he was ready I still wanted to prepare myself mentally for this upcoming ordeal.

“Too late.” Jiang Li said as he showered a bundle of his crazy smiles at me “I’ve already changed the password of your blog.”

Hence for a long time after this I became a guest visitor of my own blog. Dear God, I felt that my life was indeed full of infinite ironies and my future was full of darkness.

Before going to sleep I was mourning for my mobile phone while lying on the bed when I suddenly recalled Wang Kai’s allegation from the morning that I hung up his call yesterday. Thus righteously, I asked the rhetoric question to Jiang Li: “Jiang Li last night Wang Kai called me, why did you hang it up?”
 

Jiang Li replied: “You were taking shower at that time and that guy is really obnoxious.”

It seemed that Wang Kai’s favorite phrase ‘X incompetent husband’ had really hit Jiang Li’s heart hard.

But I still felt that it was wrong: “Then why didn’t you tell me after I finished bathing?”

Jiang Li, standing upright as a tree, in a virtuous manner said: “I forgot.”

Me: “Well, what if he had some urgent matter to discuss?”

Disdainfully, Jiang Li said: “He is just a friend, what urgent matter he would have?” Jiang Li had always thought that Wang Kai and I were only online friends; in the past few days when he came to pick me up from the office he never met Wang Kai. I wanted to tell him that Wang Kai was my immediate boss but then thought that if after all this I would tell him that Wang Kai and I had no relationship then he would certainly laugh his head off.

Seeing how I had no reaction Jiang Li asked: “Both of you are only friends and nothing else, right? I think you are quite an alright girl and that guy really has no good points.”

I thought it was time to show off my charms so I blinked my sparkling eyes playfully and started bragging: “I truly can’t help it. He always follows me around and keeps me telling me strange things like why there are so many handsome and straight guys buzzing around me constantly like small flies. Ah, he really annoys the hell out of me!!”

Jiang Li in an unhurried voice said: “It’s probably because you look like cow dung, that’s why.”

Me…………

I turned around, putting my back towards his face. Did not utter a word, my throat was choked, frozen!!! Just wanted to sleep.

At this time Jiang Li added: “Anyways you should still remain alert all the time.”

I snappily remarked: “There is no need to worry about your free laborer.”

Jiang Li: “if you get sold then I won’t come to redeem you.”

Jiang Li: “Of course a lump of cow dung is not worth of much money.”
