“Li Yao, you dare betray me!”
A fiery tentacle of the black sun, raising bolts of lightning of millions of kilometers, whipped the surface of the red star brutally and caused a tide tens of hundreds of kilometers high. It was exactly an amalgamation of Wuying Qi’s furious thoughts. “In such a wicked way!”
“Like I said, you forced me to do this. It was all because you were both bad and stupid!”
The thousands of tides raised by the red star also turned into countless tentacles that pierced into the black sun deeply, trying to affect Wuying Qi’s beliefs further with Li Yao’s will. “A gentleman like me would never have used such a shameless trick because my own honor and reputation would’ve been destroyed even if I defeated you in the end!
“However, what are personal honor and reputation compared to the civilization of mankind?
“I have sacrificed the glorious image that I established after a hundred years of hard work. How could I have been brainwashed by you easily? Embrace your fiasco, Wuying Qi!”
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
As Li Yao roared, crimson fireballs exploded on the surface of the black sun, leaving bumps and dents there and making it look like a gigantic, abnormal tumor!
“Why?”
Due to the immense shock, Wuying Qi’s soul could barely resist Li Yao’s bombardment. Like an octopus that was tied up by an electric eel, he waved his tentacles crazily and sent even stronger mental power to Li Yao, trying to brainwash Li Yao again. “If you are truly considering for the civilization of mankind, you will only have even fewer reasons to betray me. I am your only savior. Only my ‘Next Sun Plan’ can rescue the Imperium and everybody in it!”
“Cut the crap! The fact is obvious that you have been completely screwed, and you are still trying to enchant me with such ridiculous, self-revealing lies? In your dream!”
Li Yao scorned. The red star emitted the most dazzling brilliance that contained his most indestructible willpower. “Like I said before, to convince me of your Next Sun Plan, you will have to prove two points. The first point is that you are meticulous and invincible, and the second point is that the technology of massive brainwashing is mature, steady, and minimally costly.
“However, from what I can see, neither of the two points is valid!
“First of all, you are far from taking everybody and everything into your control. At the very least, you failed to foresee my shamelessness… no, my extraordinary smartness and creativeness!
“Secondly, your technology of massive brainwashing is fundamentally flawed. Not only is the Gold Crystal Pyramid susceptible to the invasion of external viruses, but it also cannot inculcate two opposite ideas at the same time. Otherwise, those who are brainwashed are likely to collapse. Even you, as the performer of the operation, will suffer a severe recoil, and your mind is on the brink of collapse too!
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. You have taken out such an immature technology as your life-savior. Are you kidding me, Your Majesty?
“Therefore, do you understand my logic now? The fact that I have betrayed you is the very reason why I should and must betray you! As long as the idea occurs to me that I have to betray you, the idea will grow under certain self-stimulations. It will expand and consolidate until it becomes an indestructible armor that can resist all your brainwashing!
“If everything you said were true, I couldn’t have betrayed you at all.
“However, I have already betrayed you, and my soul is jumping up and down before your soul, which means that you were lying and your words were bulls*it.
“If you absolutely believed in your ideology and your methodology, and if this were where your faith lies, then the ‘mistake’ that is me should’ve collapsed your beliefs when I showed up.

Their souls were still connected to the mental network that covered the whole Empyreal Terminus Sector. The ripples of the competition of their minds crawled into the heads of hundreds of thousands of people, raising a chain reaction and slowly unfreezing their frozen thinking abilities.
Inside many people’s darkened eyes, feeble sparks were popping up again.
Wuying Qi was both angry and anxious. He intended to get the situation back under control, but he was at a loss about what to do now that Li Yao had taken the initiative.
Li Yao further attacked. Thousands of glittering thoughts were launched out.
“I’ve seen too many hypocritical and shameless jacka*ses like you!”
Li Yao roared, “You always do the same thing—at first, you set up a great and sacred goal, and you highlight the insignificance of individuals by the magnificence of the goal. Then, you describe the seemingly bright, perfect prospect of the future to the individuals who are already ashamed of their insignificance, further enchanting them. After that, you disguise yourselves into commanders, gods, saviors, and things as such, as if the civilization of mankind couldn’t survive without you. In the end, you will be able to cover your ambitions with the grandeur goal and sacrifice anybody but yourselves under full justification, creating a utopia that only belongs to yourselves!
“Perhaps your ideas are not wrong, the future you presented is not wrong, and even the blood-shedding and sacrifices are not wrong either. You are wrong because you are too impatient and too selfish. First of all, you set an infinitely high goal without caring about the actual circumstances, dreaming to accomplish the evolution that should’ve been completed in hundreds, thousands, or millions of years in only decades. Also, you subconsciously expand the meaning of ‘sacrifice’. When ten soldiers die to protect a hundred civilians, that’s sacrifice; but if ten soldiers slaughter a hundred civilians, even feeding on their corpses, for their own survival, you are shameless enough to call that ‘sacrifice’?! Lastly, however convincing and brilliantly you may talk about your cause, you never dare to accept objections. You don’t even have the courage to present your ideas for public discussion so that the wisdom of the people can be absorbed to modify and optimize them. You are only good at stealthy, sneaky tricks, even resorting to shameless brainwashing to promote your ideas!
“I’ve seen more than a couple of jacka*ses like you, and I’ve killed just as many. Let me tell you, of all the jackasses, you are the worst. So, go to hell! Die! Die! Die!”
Li Yao was so excited that he burned his life to the maximum without caring about the exhaustion of his own soul. He released billions of mental blades that stabbed into the black sun deeply, churning the inside of Wuying Qi’s soul into an utter mess.
“How is it possible?”
Wuying Qi’s soul spread out waves of disbelief.
It was not because Li Yao had caused heavy wounds to his soul, but because he found it hard to believe that Li Yao, a minor “cockroach”, “rat”, “earthworm”, or even “dust”, had the strength, the willpower, and the courage to launch such a fierce attack at him, the only commander, god, and savior of mankind!
“I am the nation. I am the sun. How dare you—”
“Enough. You are just a piece of crap, an a*shole who tries to hypnotize other people after you hypnotize yourself!”
Li Yao disrupted Wuying Qi’s inculcation quickly. “Wake up and look at yourself. You are neither the sun nor a god, and nobody is ever qualified to be the sun and the god for the whole civilization of mankind. You are just like me and billions of other people. We are all human beings, the most ordinary human beings!
“Even though we can train with spiritual energy and even absorb tenebrum energy, and even though we can cut rocks and fly into the sky, our strength and our wisdom are limited after all!
“Perhaps we can proudly declare that we are at the ‘Divinity Transformation Stage’ or ‘Divinity Branching Stage’ in front of the ordinary people, but faced with a society, a country, or a civilization that is made of billions of ordinary people, the computational ability in the Divinity Transformation Stage or the Divinity Branching Stage that we are so proud of is as insignificant as the tip of a needle. We can’t be always right, we can’t predict the future of the civilization ten thousand years later, we can’t think on behalf of the billions of people in the whole civilization, and we certainly cannot deprive them of their thinking abilities and their free will just so that we can be their so-called ‘one true god’!
“You think that the failure of your plan is an accident, and it is because you are unlucky to encounter a freak like me? If so, you will be mistaken. Terribly mistaken!
“Your failure is inevitable because no matter how many glorious and righteous banners you carry and how fancy and glorious you disguise yourself to be, you are a mere mortal if we get to the bottom of it. Your plan seems flawless, but its error-tolerant rate is simply too low. As long as one point goes wrong, it will inevitably lead to a total collapse!
