Upon seeing this, Zhai Yunsheng’s bodyguards became more alert.
“Master Sheng, should we wait for the others to arrive before we go in?”
However, Zhai Yunsheng completely ignored his bodyguard’s words. He followed Superintendent Ruan into the building.
Once he entered the building, he realized that the interior design was quite different from the exterior.
In fact, it seemed as though it was merely an ordinary office building.
Superintendent Ruan took Zhai Yunsheng to the second floor. He stopped at the door of the autopsy room for a moment before he pushed the door open.
Zhai Yunsheng quickly entered the room. He walked into a medical change room.
Then, he saw Jian Yiling through the glass window. Currently, Jian Yiling was busy with her work.
When the two bodyguards saw the scene in front of them, they almost threw up. Superintendent Ruan’s warning had been fair.
Although they were well-trained, they were only bodyguards.
And thus, the scene in front of them wasn’t something that they saw often.
However, Zhai Yunsheng did not react. Instead, he stared at Jian Yiling. The anger in his eyes began to disappear.
Previously, when he waited at the front door, Zhai Yunsheng had already realized that there was strange about the place.
However, he wouldn’t be at ease until he saw Jian Yiling in person.

After Jian Yiling finished up with her work, she realized that Zhai Yunsheng was waiting for her.
“Why are you here?” Jian Yiling asked.
“I’m waiting for you to go home,” Zhai Yunsheng replied. He did not mention what had just happened.
However, Jian Yiling was quite smart. She was quite good at deductive reasoning.
On the way here, Superintendent Ruan had told her that someone had been following her. They had broken away from their tailing.
And thus, now that she saw Zhai Yunsheng, Jian Yiling easily deduced what had happened.
“Did you think something happened to me?” Jian Yiling asked.
Zhai Yunsheng turned his head away. He did not answer Jian Yiling’s question.
Despite not receiving a response, Jian Yiling still got her answer.
Jian Yiling patted Zhai Yunsheng on the chest. Then she said, “Don’t worry. I’m perfectly fine. I can protect myself. You don’t need to worry about me like last time.”
Her small hand softly patted Zhai Yunsheng on the chest.
She was trying to reassure him in her own way. Her actions were trying to express her desire to appease him.
Upon seeing this, a smile appeared on Zhai Yunsheng’s face.
He reached out to hold Jian Yiling’s hand: “Let’s go home.”
And thus, Zhai Yunsheng took Jian Yiling back to their nest.
As usual, the two of them cooked, worked, and played games together.
Then, they went to the balcony to gaze at the stars,
“Accompany me for a bit longer tonight,” Zhai Yunsheng said to Jian Yiling.
Upon hearing this, Jian Yiling nodded.
Then, the clock hit twelve.
Zhai Yunsheng turned around and said: “Happy birthday.”
Ahh, so that’s why he asked her to accompany him for a bit longer.
Zhai Yunsheng lowered his head and dropped a kiss on Jian Yiling’s red lips.
Jian Yiling widened her eyes in shock.
The look on her face was quite confused.
However, she did not fight back.
This was a good sign to Zhai Yunsheng.
Jian Yiling’s hand touched her lips that were just kissed by Zhai Yunsheng. It appeared as though she was deep in thought.
When he saw Jian Yiling deep in thought, Zhai Yunsheng turned his head away.
He did not know what that little girl was thinking.
He shouldn’t ask her about it.
If he did… He was afraid that he would do the same thing again.
“This is… A birthday present.”
Zhai Yunsheng did not turn his head around to say this. Instead, he said this very assertive manner towards Jian Yiling. Despite the assertiveness, his voice still wavered a little.
Jian Yiling did not respond to his words.
Then, Zhai Yunsheng added: “Don’t shun my gift. I’ve treasured this kiss for twenty-two years!”

“Well, I can take my kiss back.”

“No. I’m not stupid…” Jian Yiling replied quietly. She was small, not stupid. She knew what he meant…
