Volume 2 - Chapter 26: Summer Training Camp 1
On the day the calendar first flipped over to August—
Kyouya stood by the gate in the train station by himself.
At his feet stood a large bag. It was a luggage bag, packed tightly to the brim with several changes of clothes and swimwear.
It was already long past the meeting time, but Kyouya couldn't even catch a glimpse of anyone.
Kyouya had thought of himself as rather patient.
He thought he was rather calm.
But now, even Kyouya was beginning to run out of patience.
It was quickly approaching two hours after the meeting time, and no one was here. Isn't that a little... no, it was definitely too much, not just a little bit.
Kyouya had been gripping his phone tightly for a while now.
He had checked his email countless times.
He looked up "Prez" from the "friends" category of his address book and hovered his hand over the button.
He had done nothing but repeat the same meaningless motion again and again.
Today was the day they were supposed to leave on their "training camp".
Although, being a cultural club instead of a sports club, he wasn't sure exactly what kind of training camp they would even be having.
In the first place, he wasn't sure why the GJ-Bu even had these activities in the first place. Even though he had recently received a club badge and was promoted from "provisional member" to "apprentice member", he was still at a loss when it came to all of the club activities.
"I wasn't even told where we were going..."
Kyouya murmured under his breath.
All he was told was to meet at the station at seven, to bring changes of clothes since they'll be staying for a few days, and not to worry about the ticket.
Kyouya had a good feeling about this. Since it was Megumi-chan and Prez's family, as well as Shion's family of geniuses, maybe one of them even owned a villa. Perhaps that's where they were headed. That thought had Kyouya all kinds of excited.
"You guys are all late..."
Kyouya gazed up at the station's clock.
The longer minute hand had already moved quite a big since he last looked. It was now 3 minutes before nine in the morning.
It had been an hour and fifty seven minutes since the meeting time, almost two whole hours.
Predictably, even the ever patient Kyouya couldn't wait any longer, and pulled out his cell phone. Just as he was beginning to dial—
"Whoa, made it! Barely safe!"
Kyouya heard the president's voice from behind him.
He didn't turn to face her right away.
