Chapter 239 - The Sound Beast Mountain  

“Your people? The demeanor on the old man’s face did not change. He seriously sat still, frowned a little bit, looking curiously at Shi Yan. “Did other people come here with you?”

Shi Yan shook his head. “Not with me, but I know them. Actually, they are my enemies. They have been chasing me from the outside world till here.. Hmm, I’m their target.”

“Is their hatred of you that big?”  Cu Bi was curious. “Hundreds of warriors of the same realm are now running after you to kill you. After all, what did you do?”

Shi Yan smiled miserably, “Nothing…”

“No matter what purpose of those people,, when they are in Demonic Sound Clan’s area, everyone had to act moderately.”

The old man frowned and said, “Yi Feng, go outside to arrest them. Bring some our warriors  with you.  Don’t let them escape.”

A skinny guy at the Nirvana realm nodded his head obediently and quickly left.

“OK, let’s continue where we’ve been left off.” The old man stolidly took one sip of his tea. “The outside world, what is the situation now? What is your area’s name? Is there anything special there?”

“The outside world?”

“Uh.”

“I came here from the Kyara Sea through the heaven gate of the Sky sea. In the Kyara Sea, there are many different forces of mankind warriors, competing to dominate the resourceful areas” Shi Yan was thinking for a while, then explained a little bit of what he knew about the Kyara Sea to the old man of the Demonic Sound Clan.

The old man listened to Shi Yan saying nothing.

“Father, the Kyara Sea seemed not to be our ancient land?” Cu Bi thought for a while and could not help but spoke up.

“Yes, it is not our ancient land. But don’t worry, we only need to go to the outside world, then we will definitely find our ancient land.” The old man nodded his head. “If those humankind warriors can come here, it means that the Control Style has recently been eased, hmm, it’s time to talk to the Wings Race.”

Demonic Sound Clan and the Wings Race should have belonged to the Grace Mainland previously. Moreover, these two tribes should have had powerful strength. Although they had been deported here for many years, they still had the intention of breaking out to go back to the Grace Mainland, their ancient land.

As the Control Style in the soul consciousness had been deactivated, Shi Yan inaudibly observed. He realized that inside of the royal hall, there were more than ten warriors at the Nirvana realm and the Sky realm, the old man also had the God Realm cultivation base.

The old man seemed to be one of the leaders of the Demonic Sound Clan. According to him, there were also other leaders. If they also had the same cultivation base like him, the Demonic Sound Clan’s strength could easily win over any forces of the Kyara Sea.

Demonic Sound Clan was fearful already, but the Demonic Sound Clan’s people were very precautious when talking about the Wings Race. The Wings Race’s strength seemed to be even powerful than the Demonic Sound Clan’s.

If this was the truth, once Demonic Sound Clan and Wings Race cooperated to escape from this place and went to the Kyara Sea, he could not imagine what problem they would bring to the Kyara Sea.

“Do you want to go back to the Grace Mainland?” Shi Yan suddenly asked while different senses kept coming up in his mind.

When the old man heard about the two alien ethnic groups, his face changed extremely strange. He suddenly spoke up after a while, “No worries, we only want to go back to our native land, we will not stay in the Kyara Sea for long, we will not get into trouble with them.”

However, the stone in this room seemed to have some power to prevent his soul consciousness from going through. When the soul consciousness flew out, it was blocked by a strong obstructive force.

Shi Yan reluctantly gave up and quietly looked at the old man.

After a while, Yi Feng who had left recently came back. After kowtowing, he respectfully said, “Great Master, we were a little bit late. The human warriors have been arrested by YaJi.”

“YaJi” The old man raised his eyebrows and calmly said, “I am afraid it is the end for those people. YaJi’s son was slaughtered by some human warriors who were assumed to come here a few years ago. Crossing a very long corridor, Shi Yan finally saw the bright sky.

He was on a rock bank of a big five-hundred-meter high architectural building. In his view, there were many ten-meter-high ancient stone structures nearby. Further along were another two mighty five-hundred-meter high ancient structures like the immeasurably high, magnificent, and splendid mountains in the sky, , which stirred his eyesight.

This was an ancient stone building.

The whole structures, the lowest one was tens of meters high, which covered thousands of square meters; the biggest one was similar to the one he was standing on, hundreds of meters high and covered about tens of thousands square meters. It was even bigger then the biggest one he had seen in the outside world. He did not know how it had been built.

In this Giant Stone Ancient City, every person in Demonic Sound Clan looked very pale with full of yin spirits and unusual physical strength. They seemed very light and did not have much weights.  Either they were at the earth realm  or the Nirvana realm, they were able to hover freely around regardless of their realm.

The whole Ancient City was surrounded by a gray-white fog. There was extremely violent fluctuating power in this fog, which might be some kind of control style  to protect the City.

Heaven and earth’s heavy aura was overflowing to every corner. Although heaven and earth’s aura here was not as good as the one in Mortality Island, it was still very good compared with that in other places of the Kyara Sea, enough for the warriors to use.

“Shi Yan!”  A low voice suddenly came from a distance, it was Cao Zhi Lan’s.

Shi Yan’s face changed, looking at the direction where the voice came from. From far away, he saw a big wooden cage pulled up to the sky by some weird beasts’ heads.

These beasts had small thin wings like a flesh layer with very strong yin Qi. Their featurs were somehomw similar to those of  Demonic Sound Clan’s pagans.

The beasts were spreading their five or six-meter-wide wings like falcons, their whole body were turquoise and had moving lights.

The wooden cage pulled up by the beasts was fully covered by creepers on top. Those creepers were like spiritual snakes, wrapping the wooden cage, flaring a green light, creating a miraculous constraint, and binding the wooden cage.

Inside the wooden cage, Cao Zhi Lan, Qu Yan Qing, Gu Ling Long, Pan Zhe and a number of warriors were all under the Control Style. They were like slaves confined in a cage. They looked sullen, gloomy, and seemed to be tortured so badly that they seemed to be honestly obedient without daring to struggle anymore.

Those who rode the beasts were some guys with gloomy pale faces in dark green armors. They were gathering and discussing with each other in low tones.

Cao Zhi Lan’s scream turned some of the guys’ head. They coldly glanced at her, noticing  her happy look towards Shi Yan’s direction.

Those guys riding the beasts pulled the wooden cage away. It  seemed they wanted to shift direction. Cao Zhi Lan’s special Star Martial Spirit which was not affected by the control style quickly realized the living energy in Shi Yan’s body right at the moment he had gone out of the architectural structure. She could not help but scream out.

From one hundred meters away, Shi Yan frowned, looking at Cao Zhi Lan, Pan Zhe, and Qu Yan Qing being confined like livestock. He felt pity for them and let out a sigh.

Although Cao Zhi Lan and others were his opponents, they also came here from the outside world, being captured like livestock and probably tortured to death in no time. He could not feel good as he looked at them.

“Cu Bi, was it you who had captured this human being?” A guy of Demonic Sound Clan leading ahead suddenly signaled the beasts to stop. He then gently flew to this side, hovered in the air, looking at Shi Yan with his frozen eyes.

“Ah”, Cu Bi quickly said, “Demonic Sound Clan’s soul has advantages from heaven. Those aliens obviously cannot be compared to us. If you have already captured them, you should leave soon. Why do you need to waste your time with me?”

“How can talking to you be a waste of time?” YaJi smiled.  Seeing no reaction from Cu Bi, he pointed to Shi Yan and said, “I am also interested in that guy. Cu Bi, give me a price, I will take him of your hands. What do you think?”

He was concentrating his powers to resist the energy. Suddenly, there was another flow of soul like a wind zooming over, quickly covering his head.

Ya Ji’s soul power was wiped out in a blink, disappearing from his head without a trace.

“This guy belongs to me, without my consent, no one can touch his soul.” Cu Bi’s clear but cold voice rose up, unpleasantly stared at Ya Ji. “You can torture those in the cage however you want, but you are not allowed to touch mine. If you dare to do it,  don’t blame me for treating you badly.”

“I can bargain.” YaJi smiled recklessly. “With a very reasonable price, you give me this guy, is it ok?”

“You have already captured many warriors, why do you still want him?” Cu Bi felt a bit strange when listening to what he said. “You already have many, why him?”

“Haha, I myself see it’s useful.” YaJi thought for a while and said, “Cu Bi, if you are interested in humankind warriors, we can exchange. Um, those warriors over there, except the three ladies, anyone of the rest can be exchanged to you. Even two. What do you think?”

“Dangerous?” Cu Bi contemptuously whispered a sentence, coldly glanced at Shi Yan, and continued, “You should better be honestly obedient. If not, I will make your soul disappear in a second. Maybe you haven’t known, it is not difficult for Demonic Sound Clan to ruin humankind.”

“Yeah, I know your soul accomplishment went beyond the one of the human warriors.” Shi Yan’s face unchanged. “Your physical strength is very special, brain is also peculiar, very suitable for cultivating soul. Hmm, your soul is very strong, it can be compared to warriors at the Sky realm, but the body power is even much better than the Sky realm. You can use your strong soul to dominate and easily destroy my sea of consciousness. Isn’t that so?”

That Shi Yan did not say anything from the beginning did not mean he did not know anything.

He had been observing those people in silence for a while, realizing that all the pagans of Demonic Sound Clan were very powerful.

In terms of cultivating soul, people of the Demonic Sound Clan were much stronger than many of the humankind warriors.

Their knowledge about the soul was absolutely much more profound than the humankind warriors.

However, it was because of their special physical structure, the bodies of Demonic Sound Clan’s pagans looked very feeble.

Not to mention  how strong Shi Yan’s body was, their bodies were much weaker than those of the ordinary humankind warriors.

Not only this, the profound Qi in their bodies were also peculiar. Profound Qi did not concentrate in one place, instead, it spread out everywhere in the body dispersedly. Nerves and veins were also extremely weak and narrow, which made it impossible to receive too much profound Qi.

Through the strength of the sea of consciousness, Shi Yan gradually understood.

“You, you can see through many things in such a short time?” Cu Bi was terrified. A shocking look appeared on her face, she was staring at Shi Yan carefully for a moment, and said, “I should have used more soul control style on you.”

“Don’t, I am a trendy person. I know your sense of soul is very strong. If I do something wrong, you can easily recognize it from this short distance. You can use your soul to kill me easily before I can do anything. Therefore, I will not do anything stupid, so you should not waste too much of your power. Don’t worry, I will try my best for you.” Shi Yan quickly shouted.

Shi Yan slightly shivered, his eyes flared up coldly, ready to risk his life.

“I’ve already known you are very cunning, hmm, don’t think you can take anything from me. Right now, I just don’t want to kill you yet, if you dare to protest, you will know your consequence.” Cu Bi’s face kept its strict countenance, although there was a slightly hesitating look on her face. “If you can help me catch the sound beasts at the fifth or sixth level, I will set you free. “Sound beasts? Aren’t they the demon beasts?”

“Sound beasts are one kind of demon beasts. They only live in Sound Beast Mountain. It is very miasmatic there. Sound beasts are made from Yin. Their demon spirits are dark. They are very useful for us. If we have these demons while cultivating, it is extremely fortunate for us. The Sound Beast Mountain has “Ancient Thunder Formation” which will project lightning. Strong sound beasts do not have any big problem with being hit by the lightning. We can only stay outside of the mountain and catch the sound beasts that venture out.”

In order to catch them, we also need direct attacking weapons. But once the sound beasts cannot win, they will withdraw and hide inside the Sound Beast Mountain, thus  we cannot do anything after that. Sound beasts are afraid of  burning fire. If you can use burning fire, it is easier to catch them. Of course, we should also see if your burning fire is effective or not, weak burning fire cannot affect the sound beasts.”

“Ok, I understand. I will help you arrest the sound beasts. Hmm, our deal is ten sound beasts of the fifth or sixth level, ok?

Shi Yan suddenly remembered Cao Zhi Lan, Gu Ling Long, and Qu Yan Qing. The three ladies that were being confined by YaJi.

“Rotten!”,Cu Bi saw the lust in Shi Yan’s eyes, and could not help but scold him. “Human beings, no one is good indeed! My father was right.”

“Demonic Sound Clan’s people have a strong prejudice against human beings I assume?”

“Humankind is blamable. If it was not because of you, we would not have been deported to this place. Hmm, because of you, we could not return to our native land, being forced to stay here forever where there is no sun, no moon, nor stars.” Cu Bi coldly said.

“So, why have you been  deported to this place? How could humankind do it if there was no reason for it?”

“Shut up!” Cu Bi jangled. Her beautiful face suddenly sharpened.

Shi Yan surprised but said no more. He was afraid of Cu Bi in not being able to control herself and fight with him.

After getting out of the Giant Stone Ancient City, crossing immense forest openings, it had been long until a mighty, ten-thousand-meter high mountain struck his eyes.

The mighty giant mountain dominated the skyline, masses of white clouds hovered in the middle of the mountain flank. The mountain peak went straight up into the sky. Each striking lightning like a giant dragon mincing around the giant mountain; dazzling flashes were projected with strong electric currents one by one.

On the giant mountain, it was full of ancient trees and deep black abysses around the mountain cliffs. In those abysses, there were big beasts’ figures. The beasts’ loud howls could be heard of from inside. Those howls had a powerful energy that terrified him.

Hearing those howls, Shi Yan’s sea of consciousness continued vibrating, the soul consciousness was not stable.

“Sound beasts are made of gathered dark spirits. The soul is also very specific. Their howls can badly hurt ordinary warriors. You heard that howl but have not been much affected, you are not just an ordinary person indeed. Hmm, so, I don’t need to worry too much. Delivering soul protection to your head has decreased my energy.” Cu Bi soon set loose her vigilance.

She and Shi Yan stood together on the big long branch of an ancient tree. She raised her head looking at the sound Beast Mountain in front of them, and said, “What is the strongest level of sound beasts on the Sound Beast Mountain?”

Shi Yan raised his head and looked ahead. Because his sea of consciousness was vibrating, even his soul consciousness could not be released. It was hard to recognize the real strength of all sound beasts on the Sound Beast Mountain.

“The strongest Sound Beast…” Cu Bi shook her head. “Because of the lightning rod, Demonic Sound Clan cannot intrude inside, so we don’t know what is the level of the strongest sound beast is. Um, the Wings Race used to invade the Sound Beast Mountain, but it was heard that there was no one who ever got out alive.”

“You and the Wings Race have always been fighting?”

“Almost, the Wings Race people live just behind the Sound Beast Mountain. They consider themselves to be the true lords of this land. They want to rule Demonic Sound Clan. In recent years, the Wings Race’ strength has been really stronger than ours, if the Wings Race people united, we could become their slaves.” Cu Bi discouragingly said.

“The Wings Race!” Shi Yan thought for a moment. “You have godsend-soul advantages from Heaven, you can easily destroy our souls, but can’t you deal with the Wings Race?”

“The Wings Race is more dangerous than humankind. No human being can compare with their firm physical body. Although the Wings Race’s spiritual soul is not as good as human beings’, they still have many ways to protect their soul from being violated. Humankind absolutely cannot compare with them.” Cu Bi coldly said.

“Boohoo boohoo”

A strange noise like a baby crying suddenly came out from one of the caves on the Sound Beast Mountain.

At the moment, strange noises rose up, gray yin plunged out from that cave. The spirits came out strong and fast, spreading into an entire small area in a blink.

A bunch of long figures hovered around in the middle of the gray yin aura. Together with that gray yin aura, they flew down to the Sound Beast Mountain, then approached towards an icy lake in the distance.

“Demon child.”

Cu Bi’s face changed dramatically. Her subtle body slightly shivered while she was staring at the place where the gray spirits gathered. She horribly said, “This thing cannot appear at this time. Is the shelter really weakening? Irrational, really irrational! No, our plan should be canceled at this time.”

Turning her head suddenly, Cu Bi, with one hand holding Shi Yan, shouted out loud, “We should leave now. Forget this . I have to inform our clan about the Demon child!”

“Are you sure we will be able to escape.” Shi Yan’s eyes slightly changed while he was pointing ahead. “That thing seemed to have detected us, do they start to change direction?”

“What?”, she shouted in a panic. Cu Bi’s white face got chalky.
