The bird didn’t forget about the small Demon Chimpanzee, but it had to time it correctly. If it told the Demon Chimpanzee too early, the latter would go after Feng Wu and might catch up with her.
So, the bird decided that it had to stall…
Little Phoenix looked panic-stricken as it said, “Hey, I’m not some sacred beast! I’m a stinky one! Eat me, and you’ll become very stinky! Not only will you lose all your cultivation ability, you’ll be cursed as well!”
The Demon Chimpanzee laughed. “Really? What curse would that be?”
It was standing in front of Little Phoenix now, and its giant shadow covered Little Phoenix completely.
It then picked Little Phoenix up and opened its mouth.
It was going to eat the bird whole.
Little Phoenix realized that it couldn’t stall any longer.
“Hey, aren’t you worried about your baby?” Little Phoenix gave it a half-smile.
The Demon Chimpanzee suddenly froze.
Little Phoenix smirked. “Did you never wonder why I provoked you out of the blue?”
The Demon Chimpanzee stiffened.
Little Phoenix said, “I have to have a death wish to simply challenge you when I know that I’m not your match.”
The Demon Chimpanzee was speechless.
Little Phoenix said, “So, you really didn’t notice that human hidden in the bushes when I lured you out?”
The Demon Chimpanzee’s face twisted, and it glared at Little Phoenix. “I’m going to eat you!”
Little Phoenix said, “Go ahead, but I have a special farting ability. Ha, did you think I was making up that stinky smell? After you eat me, you’ll have a stomachache. Who will save your baby then? Someone might be skinning it alive even as we speak!”
The Demon Chimpanzee was shocked!
It tossed Little Phoenix away like a piece of garbage. After that, it ran back toward its cave as fast as it could.
It realized that something had gone terribly wrong when it arrived.
There were signs of fighting!
And even the Demon Spider, which it had brought back for the baby’s cradle, was gone!
Roarrrr —
It pounded its chest in frustration.
“My baby, where are you?!”
Luckily, it didn’t lose its head. Immediately, it dashed off to look for its baby.
The small Demon Chimpanzee was still nursing, so the Demon Chimpanzee was able to follow the scent of the milk.
After narrowly escaping death, Little Phoenix lay on a rock and was too exhausted to move a muscle.
“Little Feng Wu, I’ve done everything I can. You have to stay alive…”
Little Phoenix had no confidence in Feng Wu’s survival at all.
After all, Feng Wu was being chased by a Spiritual Lord assassin and a Spiritual Lord Demon Chimpanzee at the same time. How could she possibly survive that?
Meanwhile, Feng Wu was running as fast as she could.
She knew that she was facing an impossible situation, but that only made her want to fight harder!
She would become an amazing cultivator, but she just needed more time!
The wind howled in her eyes as she flitted past the trees, stones, bushes, and creeks…
