Nian Xi honestly didn’t know what to say.
Why was he so shy? She wanted very much to pinch his ears.
“Can you give it to me now?” Said Nian Xi helplessly.
Jiang Yuning lowered his head and glanced at the crawfish, but still didn’t give it to her. “I’ll remove the shell for you,” he said, “Your way of eating is too unhygienic. You even licked the oil on your fingers…”
Nian Xi felt like crying. She was happy that finally, a guy was willing to remove a crawfish shell for her. What he said made her feel so embarrassed.
“I’m unhygienic, so what? I love sucking my fingers. Do you have a problem with that?” She asked aggressively.
Jiang Yuning was stunned to hear that. It was the first time he saw her being so aggressive. She was like a tigress, cute, though. “I… I’m fine with it. I like you, even if you like sucking your fingers…”
After saying that, his ears turned red. He dropped his head, and quietly started removing the shell of the crawfish.
His sudden confession made Nian Xi blush.
She hurriedly took a sip of water to calm herself down.
Jiang Yuning removed the crawfish shell for her very carefully. He even picked every slight piece of shell on the head of the crawfish. He wished he could wipe the crawfish flesh with a tissue.
“Just give it to me. It’s getting cold,” Nian Xi lost her patience and took the crawfish away from his hands with her chopsticks.
Jiang Yuning blinked. ‘She’s so gluttonous’, he thought.
“Do you think I’m a greedy eater?” Nian Xi figured out what he was thinking, “I’m telling you, I’m not. Compared with my sister-in-law, I am nothing in the world of eaters. I’m just hungry. I didn’t have lunch or dinner.”
“You can’t keep skipping meals,” Jing Yuning, on hearing that, wore a serious look, “Skipping meals isn’t healthy.”
Nian Xi almost burst out laughing. “You sound like my father, really.”
He sounded like a retired official.
What young guy would talk like that?
Jiang Yuning was so anxious that his face even reddened. “I don’t want to be your father. I want to be your… your… never mind. I’m not telling you yet.”
He couldn’t put pressure on her. He needed to be nice to her, so she would fall in love with him slowly.
Uncle Han told him that before he came to see her.
Nian Xi thought he would say “boyfriend” only he didn’t. Instead, he ended the conversation just like that. She wanted to laugh so much.
Did he think she wouldn’t know about his feelings as long as he didn’t tell her? It was so obvious.
Never mind. It’s a good thing he didn’t bring it up. She liked him, but after all, they hadn’t seen each other for a long time.
It felt nice to have somebody remove the shells of her crawfish. He was slow but willing to do that for her. Finally, she didn’t need to always be jealous of other girls.
She would have felt better if she had had a nice and gentle brother to care for her.
But her brother was a master of making her feel worse.
Every time her brother hurt her, she wanted a man to care for her.
Jiang Yuning removed the shall of all crawfish, then looked at the oil on his fingers. Thinking that Nian Xi liked sucking fingers, he had an itch in his heart. Without thinking much, he said to her, “Look, I have so much oil on my fingers. Don’t you like sucking fingers? Would you like to suck mine?”
Nian Xi was drinking the water. Hearing his words, she sprayed the water in her mouth and had her entire face turn red.
What did he say?
She dropped the glass, glared at him and said through clenched teeth, “Good for you, Jiang Yuning. You’ve learned to take advantage of me, haven’t you?”
