Yan Jin rolled his eyes while Yan Su was left completely speechless; he was shameless, without a doubt. She did remember his family having a washboard but it was by no means a family heirloom.
The washboard looked old and used—he might have stolen it from Xu Zhengxuan.
Yan Lv was held speechless for a moment before continuing his rant, “Stop putting on an act in front of me. I’ve seen plenty of young people like you—always full of big talk.”

Yan Su was unable to respond.
He was telling the truth.

When he was done, he looked up emotionally at the two elders with his deep colored eyes and chiseled face.
Yan Su had no chance to interrupt at all. She had to give it up to him—it was no wonder he was an award-winning director. The plot truly was exceptional…
He made up an excellent speech without telling a single lie. Of course, he deftly excluded what didn’t serve his narrative, effectively making himself look like a saint whose only sin was being madly in love.

Yan Su winced when her father shouted at her. She didn’t know if she should go along with the story or not. It seemed like she had to bear the brunt of this one.
“Susu, you can add whatever you would like to say.” Mo Liuxi sighed, magnifying his perceived tolerance and kindness.
Yan Su couldn’t say anything.
If she had brought up An Ning, it would have just made things more complicated and she would have dug a deeper hole for herself.
“It’s… it’s all true,” Yan Su said, reluctantly agreeing to the narrative that had been laid out before her.
