After confirming the changes in Demon Immortal Realm as well as the matter of the demon emperor corpses, Wu Yu left Peak of the Granular Wooden Realm.

Wu Yu also seized this advantage to search the places which were inaccessible to others.

For now, he had not found anything yet, but he did not give up. He looked in places where others could not go, for treasures they would miss. It would definitely not be easy - otherwise how would the treasures have remained undiscovered for 40,000 years?

To do great things, patience was the first requirement.

Especially in the sky palaces, cultivation was easy. To reach eternal life, that was the real test of uncommon patience and perseverance. How else could one pass through the endless dreary and fruitless years?

There were actually more demon immortals than it seemed, except that they were all squirreled away and cultivating hard. Although their chances were slim, they had nothing else to work towards to. This was not an exciting world. All of the demon immortals worked towards the same goal - to becoming an eternal demon emperor.

That way, they could become a master of this place, as broken as it was. Perhaps they might find a way to leave in the future.

During one of the endless days, he came across another fragment of the void that had been well-traveled through. It was within an empty ruin, and Wu Yu had a tingling feeling as he reached this place. He had probably come to a place which had been completely sealed off, and no one had come to in a long time.

Although there was no guarantee of reward, there was at least hope. Many other places had more signs of demon immortals passing through.

Because this place was completely enclosed by void shards, it was extremely gloomy, and very little light passed through, swallowed up in the pitch blackness. Even with the Eyes of Fire and Gold, he could not see far.

Because he was in an unstable environment, Wu Yu did not let Full Moon of Nanshan and Ye Xixi out.

The pair of them had recently been cultivating in seclusion.

Wu Yu shrank his own body to the smallest and was on highest alert. A meaningless, yawning expanse stretched out before him. Looking closely, he saw that it was the Ancient Demon Realm door!

Wu Yu smiled. "Not necessarily. Nobody said that this thing is linked ot the eternal demon emperor corpses. Perhaps it’s something else. Best stay alert."

Luck was not such a straightforward thing. He recalled that both doors had been guarded by corpse puppets, and now they were pointing him somewhere. Who knew what it would be!

"Well, take a look. Your escaping skills are unparalleled anyways. What are you afraid of?" Full Moon of Nanshan chuckled.

Wu Yu of course was on the move. His body now in its smallest form, he carefully felt out the direction that the two pendants indicated.

He knew that it was possible that they were guiding him to the eternal demon emperor corpses, but there was also a high possibility that it was something else entirely.

"If it really can help me find the eternal demon emperor corpses, they will be of great help to me when devoured, even if they are but fragments. This would indeed be a bounteous place for me."

But Wu Yu knew that life could not be that easy. When the going was too good, it usually meant that some deeper danger was lurking insidiously in the shadows, waiting to deliver a fatal blow to him.
