From the Diabolical Dragon King’s memories, Wu Yu learnt that the two demonic empires were Olden Empire and Perpetual Demonic Empire.
These were two other empires run by a 9-heavens demonic emperor.
The Olden Empire was ruled by Olden Demonic Emperor, whose true form was the Olden Golden Mountain. He was a golden mountain, and very few of them became demon. But through the endless passages of time, enough spiritual qi had awoken its sentience.
It was said that this Olden Demonic Emperor could control all metals, and was above average amongst the five demonic emperors in fighting ability. These demonic emperors all still had potential to mine, and they were far from the end of their lifespan. If things continued this way, they seemed on course to become eternal demon emperors.
The scant resources in Demon Immortal Realm had put the brakes on their progress, but it was still merely a matter of time for Olden Demonic Emperor.
Such demons had boundless potential, and onen could only imagine how devastated they must have been when they ascended into a broken world. Otherwise, they would already have been eternal demon emperors long ago.
As for Perpetual Demonic Empire, of course it was run by Perpetual Demonic Emperor.
Perpetual Demonic Emperor’s true form was the Perpetual World Tree. Perpetual Demonic Emperor was a unique case. He had not ascended, but rather had been born into the Demon Immortal Realm, and finally gained sentience as a demon immortal, immediately showing great ability and potential from the time of awakening.
His body had been located in an area much like the Peak of the Granular Wooden Realm. After the epic battle in the Demon Immortal Realm, many lesser demon immortals had risen up to take shelter and rest nearby.
The Perpetual World Tree had absorbed enough spiritual qi, and eventually turned demon. The process was greatly helped along by a battle in the area, where numerous corpses were buried within the root network of the Perpetual World Tree, eventually becoming nutrition for the Perpetual World Tree which helped awaken it.
The other places were also run by similar demonic emperors. They were all uncommon objects which had gained sentience, and shared a strange kinship. These three demonic empires were relatively close.
Rumor had it that the Unending Demonic Emperor, Olden Demonic Emperor, and Perpetual Demonic Emperor would often gather to discuss cultivation, and progress together.
The Demon Immortal Realm currently had no histories or forebears to gain guidance from. If they wanted to become eternal demon emperors, they would have to work at it themselves. Discussions became extremely important. Each time, they met for centuries, and it would save them millennia of cultivation.
All of this had come from Diabolical Dragon King and Taotie Demon King’s memories.
People would occasionally drop by to look for Unending Demonic Emperor regarding some matter or another, but it was also common for Unending Demonic Emperor to disappear for some time, and it was assumed that he had gone to find the other two demonic emperors.
Of the three, the oldest and most qualified was the Perpetual World Tree.
Perpetual World Tree had already been strong when Unending Demonic Emperor and Olden Demonic Emperor had ascended. If not for the fact that he had been fighting with another mighty demonic emperor at that time, the entire Demon Immortal Realm would probably be his.
That adversary was Celestial Demonic Emperor.
Like Perpetual Demonic Emperor, Celestial Demonic Emperor had been born directly into the wasteland that was the Demon Immortal Realm, and far surpassed the other demon immortals who had newly ascended.
Back then, the battle was still recent, and there were not many demon immortals who had flown up from the lesser realms. There was no one strong in their midst, and the Demon Immortal Realm had been in a state of disorder.
Celestial Demonic Emperor had fought against Perpetual Demonic Emperor back then.
Perpetual Demonic Emperor was a Perpetual World Tree which had gained sentience. As for Celestial Demonic Emperor, he was a star before becoming a demon. He had been on one of the realms within Demon Immortal Realm, and had been at demon king level already when he turned demon.
Both were at the apex of the Demon Immortal Realm. Neither would give way to the other, and they stood evenly matched in the Demon Immortal Realm. They were the oldest in the Demon Immortal Realm.
Many of their other similarly-aged peers had already ceased at the end of their lifespan. The eternal demon emperor realm was too unattainable for the demon immortals.
Celestial Demonic Emperor ruled the Celestial Demonic Empire, a huge territory in Demon Immortal Realm.
Because they had once fought so fiercely before, their relationship was lukewarm, and would not correspond unless something big cropped up in the Demon Immortal Realm.
The dynamics between the demonic emperors were ultimately rumors and hearsay that Diabolical Dragon King and Taotie Demon King had picked up, but they were probably reliable to some extent.
Celestial Demonic Emperor and Perpetual Demonic Emperor were ancient beings who had come into power directly in the Demon Immortal Realm. Unending Demonic Emperor and Olden Demonic Emperor had flown up later, and then joined forces with Perpetual Demonic Emperor.
As for Celestial Demonic Emperor, he too had a helper, which was Dignified Demonic Emperor, who ruled over Dignified Demonic Empire.
As for Dignified Demonic Emperor, his true form was the Dignified Lava Beast, from an ancient bloodline that was born within magma.
Diabolical Dragon King had seen the true face of Dignified Demonic Emperor before, and Wu Yu could also see that through his memories. Dignified Lava Beast had no hands or legs, a formless mass surrounded by lava. This creature had a huge mouth that seemed entirely capable of swallowing the smaller demonic beasts whole.
These were not beings that the Diabolical Dragon King could deal with. If the Diabolical Dragon King found himself up against one of the demonic emperors, he could only submit.
Just like how Taotie Demon King had been completely helpless before Wu Jun. This was the difference between an 8 and 9-heavens demon king. Only one cultivation realm apart, their strength was completely different.
Five demonic emperors, five demonic empires. Wu Yu explained it all to Wu Jun.
"Unending Demonic Empire, Olden Demonic Empire, Perpetual Demonic Empire, Celestial Demonic Empire, and Dignified Demonic Empire...... these demonic emperors are really living their best life!"
Wu Jun guffawed heartily. "Although the Demon Immortal Realm met with calamity, who’s to say that it wasn’t a blessing in disguise for these five demonic emperors? From what they had been through, it seems like if the eternal demon emperors were still around, they might not have reached where they are today. Of course, it’s hard to say. Fate works in mysterious ways. And who’s to say if that supreme being is controlling it all......"
He was thinking about the sky palaces, about places like Green Lotus Sky and Primordial Immortal Empire. They were all ruled by eternal immortal emperors, and there would not be anything like these demonic empires.
"As carefree as their lives are, if they can’t reach eternal demon emperor status, it will all have been for naught. Besides, the Demon Immortal Realm is still deteriorating. If they can’t find a way to get out of Demon Immortal Realm, then they might well die with this world, even if they become eternal demon emperors."
Wu Yu sighed.
He really wanted to know what had happened in the great battle.
Would he get a chance to find out the answer......
Wu Yu and Wu Jun were in Unending Demonic Empire, looking for signs of eternal demon emperor corpses. They found nothing out of the ordinary.
The five demonic empires were developing peacefully, and there were few major wars. Any small conflicts that arose between the demonic empires could be dealt with by their lieutenants, and the demonic emperors did not need to be personally involved.
The demonic emperors’ lieutenants included only 8-heavens demon kings, such as Diabolical Dragon King and Taotie Demon King.
These 8-heavens demon kings would definitely be protected by the demonic emperors in return for their services. They were allowed to build their own small territories, such as Diabolical Dragon King’s Fiendish Underworld Metropolis, or Taotie Demon King’s 10,000 Demons Ancient Lands. Of course, they had to seek permission from the Unending Demonic Empire.
Just like within the Fiendish Underworld Metropolis, where the demon immortal residents had to offer tributes to the Diabolical Dragon King, the Diabolical Dragon King also had to offer tributes to the demonic emperors - and a considerably higher sum at that - in order to be granted protection.
Once something major broke out, virtually all of the 8-heavens demon kings would be mobilized by the demonic emperors to take to the battlefield.
Besides the 8-heavens demon kings, all the demon immortals who lived within Unending Demonic Empire would also have to submit to the demonic emperors’ rule.
For example, Primitive Demon King. Although he had not belonged to Fiendish Underworld Metropolis, but if the Unending Demonic Emperor commanded his service, he too had to fight.
Now the Demon Immortal Realm was relatively peaceful. No word of eternal demon emperor corpses meant no fights were breaking out.
The five demonic emperors had all secluded themselves in their own territories in a bid to reach eternal demon emperorhood. Ordinarily, they would not bother with matters in the Demon Immortal Realm, unless it was something of great importance.
Wu Yu and Wu Jun roamed freely within Unending Demonic Empire, but came up empty-handed.
Just as they were preparing to leave Unending Demonic Empire and try their luck in one of the other four, a bounty suddenly appeared from the Unending Demonic Emperor, on the "Heaven Devouring Titanic Beast".
This bounty made Wu Yu guess that the Unending Demonic Emperor had probably sensed the Diabolical Dragon King’s death.
Unending Demonic Emperor’s true form was the Unending Crepuscular Sea. In the Unending Demonic Empire, Diabolical Dragon King and Taotie Demon King were both important lieutenants. Their long disappearance must have alarmed Unending Demonic Emperor.
If not for the tributes, Wu Yu might even pose as Diabolical Dragon King and Taotie Demon King to ease the situation.
But Wu Yu could not possibly give tributes to the Unending Demonic Emperor.
"Someone must have seen the Heaven Devouring Titanic Beast during the fight at Underworld Dragon’s Den, and the Unending Demonic Emperor found out. He must have linked it to the disappearance of Diabolical Dragon King and Taotie Demon King."
Wu Yu surmised. However, since he did not usually move around in the Heaven Devouring Titanic Beast’s form, this bounty did not affect him much.
