In April, spring had arrived . Grass grew and flowers bloomed . Life was thriving everywhere . Spring was also the best season to go on nature hikes and outings .

It was a bright and sunny day . Clouds were scattered across the blue skies . An annual tulip flower fair was held in Daning Park; about 2 million tulips of 45 varieties had been planted this year . The planting area occupied about 40,000 square meters . The exhibition period only lasted for 15 days, from late March to early April .

“The flowers are gorgeous . This is too beautiful . ” Standing amidst the sea of color, Su Yun sighed in appreciation . Her pretty eyes were filled with excitement and delight .

“Let me take a few photos of you . ” Chen Jin took out the Hua Yao P40 Pro mobile phone that had instantly killed off the DSLR camera . He took several photos of her in different poses . In a sea of flowers, the woman either opened her arms with a face full of smiles, or she was bending down to smell the flowers . The golden rays of the sun lightly teased at her smooth and shining hair . Sometimes, she would gaze towards the far horizon and display her outstanding good looks .

Chen Jin’s photography skills were nothing out of the ordinary . Even so, he managed to take some photos that stunned him . The most beautiful scene of the woman caused his heart to tremble . “Su Yun, let’s take a few photos together . ” They had brought a selfie-stick with them for this nature outing so that they could take photos together without asking for help from the passerbys .

The woman nodded happily . “Ok . ”

In the sea of flowers, the two took many photos together . Chen Jin feasted on the beauty in front of him . He was constantly hugging her beautiful shoulders, and he always had an arm around her slender waist .  From time to time, he would sniff at the mild fragrance from the hair hanging past her ears . Now and then, he would hold her in his arms and admire the flush on her face . His mind was not focused on taking photos at all .

As they were returning, Chen Jin clasped her warm and smooth hand . They were like a young couple, walking shoulder to shoulder . Both were good-looking and well-matched in their appearances, attracting countless looks of envy .

She felt the man kneading her hand from time to time and Su Yun tried to gently extricate her hand, but it was futile . Her pretty face became flushed again as she admonished bashfully, “Don’t be like this . ”

“Why? You don’t like it?”

She lowered her head . “No… There are so many people here . The impact could be… negative . ”

Chen Jin smiled . “We’re just holding hands . Look at that elderly couple . They’re enjoying themselves just holding hands together . They’re so old but still acting lovey-dovey in public . ” He pointed towards an elderly couple who were at least 70 years old .

Su Yun glanced at them . She had never felt so envious in her life . She turned to Chen Jin and asked, “Can you hold my hand until we’re as old as they are?”

“I can do that . ” Chen Jin gave her a firm answer . “And I will hold your hand for 500 years, 1,000 years, even… forever . ” He spoke these words in a flat and calm tone, but they hit her heart hard .

Her eyes shimmered and she suddenly embraced the man . She kissed his face quickly . “I don’t need as long as a thousand years . It’s enough to grow old together with you . ”

Chen Jin was stunned at first, then he pulled her into his arms . Leaning in to her ear, he said, “Silly girl, I don’t do sweet talk . Sometimes, you might think that it’s boring to be with me and I also make mistakes occasionally… I hope that you will consider this carefully before answering . Are you willing to be with me?” Women were emotional creatures . Nine out of ten loved to hear sweet words . But sweet-talking was really not his strong suit . When it came to relationships, he had always been akin to someone quickly cutting through a complicated knot with a knife . If they were suitable, then they would get together; if they were not, then they would separate .  He never thought that his off-hand remark would touch her to the extent that she would reveal her heartfelt thoughts . Her words clearly expressed her attitude .

“I do!” She said with all seriousness, “As long as you don’t dislike me, I’m willing!”

Chen Jin shook his head . “You’re such a good lady . How can I dislike you?”

The woman was pretty, sensible, a filial daughter, as well as a hard worker . She was a good wife in all aspects . If Chen Jin did not have so many fortuitous encounters, he would find such an excellent woman would be the best wife material . There was nothing about her that he was unhappy about . After calming down, he slowly realized that his original idea of collecting more women and having more children was unrealistic . At least, they were not realistic here on Earth .

He could not even handle one Yuan Li . He was deluding himself if he thought he could get outstanding women that would limit their own personalities and independence to obey him in all aspects . If he wanted to have women that followed the Confucian moral injunctions for women, he would have to timetravel back to ancient times . It was impossible to establish a harem openly in modern society .

Of course, if one was rich, he could do whatever he wanted . There were many vain and shallow women . “I’m driving . But you kissed the wrong part of my face just now . I’ll be correcting it . ”

As his words ended, he hugged her waist and leaned his face down towards her . She lightly hit at his chest but could not stop the meeting of their lips . They fell into a kiss that seemed to last for ages .

After this incident, their relationship progressed very quickly as they became more intimate . They seemed to be a couple in their honeymoon period . They went shopping together, dined out together, and watched movies together . They were together almost every day . Their love became more natural and real . They shared their photos often on social media . Their families, especially Su Yun’s parents, were extremely happy .

Chen Jin even brought Su Yun to the villa in Junting Grand Court for two nights . He was about to break the last barrier in the relationship and take it to a new level .

“No, don’t do it . It hurts so much . This is my first time . I want to give my most precious possession to you on the night I become your wife . I’m begging you, don’t . ” The woman was in so much pain she started tearing up . This image stopped the man from continuing his penetration .
