“Wait, What!?”

I fell with a raised voice.

Okay. Was that the reincarnation transportation? My body feels the same as it was when I was still alive. This alternate world reincarnation feels more like a restart than a rebirth.

“Oh dear, what hit me.”

As far as the eye can see is open fields. Nearby is a big windmill and a small brook, and the whole scene is somewhat idyllic.

Of course it’s not Japan, as in the sky a big lizard is flying by. This really does appear to be an alternate world.

Huh? There’s something creeping around under my butt……

“Gyagya……gya……gii…..”

I looked below me and saw a goblin lying underneath me.

“Wow! It’s really a live goblin!”

I hastily retreated from there. It doesn’t appear to be much larger than a small dog. On which I have appeared to have fallen onto.

“Gi, gigi……”

Wait, shouldn’t that have been really painful?

Ah, It died. It’s HP is at zero. When I stare at it consciously, I appear to able to see its status.

As something fell out of its mouth, it ceased to move any further.

To die from my falling on it, I feel sorry for it. Approaching it, I picked the item that came out of its mouth and saw that it was a clear silver stone.

“What’s this, then?”

Whatever it is, I’ll go ahead and pocket it. I should probably find out where a town is or someone to ask about it.

“Well, despite my not knowing about it, my first battle went off without a hitch. What should I do from here?”

Maybe I can find out if I go to the town, so I decide to go there. But I have no idea of where to go to find it.

There’s a road, perhaps if I walk along it for awhile…. Where am I going to find some food?

“Self sufficiency? Eh, seriously?”

This alternate world seems to be difficult to live in, don’t you think?

I seem to be low in stats and level, but this luck of 999,999 how did I get this?

Now that I think about it, there isn’t a goddess around to ask about my circumstances.

Goddess Rifua rubbed her bottom as I turned around to look for the source of the sound and voice.

“Mou…. Hello, is anyone there? This is Life and Death Division goddess Rifua speaking. I request a transference back to heaven. Hello, is anyone there?”

“Hey, what’s the matter?”                                        

“Ah! Some time ago I…..! What is this!?”

“It’s Jinta. Who are you trying to call?”              

“Because……of a certain idiot’s transferring me along on his reincarnation forcibly….. I can’t call the home office.”

“Was there perhaps a chance of a bug in the system somewhere?”                                                 

“You couldn’t…. Whatever in the status that isn’t visible to the goddess is never seen….”

“In my status, my Luck is now 999,999.”            

“Eh? The Maximum for Luck is 99!? Is it visible in your status, Jinta?”

…….If there’s a reason, it’s probably because I pushed the reincarnation button forcibly. Though if I said that, it would be a serious thing.

Rifua was already in a state close to tears.

“Eh~, Because Jinta pressed the button unreasonably, …… I can’t go back….”

“……This is really bad. I really didn’t mean to involve you in all of this.”

I lowered my head meekly, and heard a sigh.

“I’m okay now.”

“I intend to continue living on in this world, but what do you want to do, Rifua? Try to wait and see if your call goes through?”          

“Ok…… I can receive…. a call from anywhere…..”

Rifua does appeared to be troubled. It’s my fault that this happened to her.

“Then, why don’t we travel together? If possible, I do want to apologise to you.”        

“Okay, if just for a little bit.”

It was then that I could see her status properly.

Isn’t it really low, this goddess’ stats?

There’s not too much difference from the goblin from a while ago.

“Rifua, what’s your level?”                                    

“You can see mine? Maximum 999?”                  

“By the way, what was your luck?”                    

“98.”

Is the lowering of Rifua’s status the cause of my increased luck?

“By the way, your level is now 1, Rifua.”          

“eh………. It dropped?”

I clapped Rifua’s slumped shoulder suddenly.

“Can you cheer up?”                                                

“You’re to blame for this Jinta.”

Rifua sighed.

“Since you’re so lucky Jinta, I should spend some time with you.”

Pooh, and Rifua’s face turned unpleasant towards me.

According to Rifua, there’s a town called Hohin about two hours away from here on foot. Along the way, I learned a lot of things about this world.

This world, called [Liberia] is a so-called swords and magic fantasy world. As for where we’re currently walking, it’s called the Refon plain in the northeastern area of the Argast kingdom.

“You gain experience and levels from defeating enemies, and there are even item drops. It doesn’t mean that there’s a demon king or such running about, but things are relatively peaceful. However, things like level or status is only known to those of us from another world.”

“So there isn’t a demon king? Oh, but I got this from a goblin, any idea what it is?”

I took the silver stone out of my pocket and showed it to Rifua.

“Oh. I was about to talk about this. It’s not silver, it’s a crystal stone core!”

“?”                                                                                      

“The colors change in accordance to rarity. The silver ones have a 3% drop rate.”              

“Huh, it’s a rare one. What’s this good for?”

“Because the magic can’t be extracted if there isn’t a special tool, it’s a sale item for the common folk. Because there are collectors for this sort of thing, you might be able to get 100,000 rin for selling it to the right person.”

“Rin?”                                                                                

“100,000 rin is roughly 100,000 Japanese yen.”

Is it the same? Then if the prices are the same as Japan, then we can avoid starvation and homelessness for the foreseeable future.

“So we don’t have to sleep outside tonight?”

“Eh? ……I am good?”

“Yes, I can combine the apology and take care of you.”

“I want to show you this world in various ways, and include the reward. Rifua is the navigator who came with me from the world outside.”                                                                        

“Thank you? Jinta.”

And I saw it…. The awesome power of the goddess’ smile….

Furthermore, animals and plants affected by a dead demon and the residual magical power of people seem to to turn into demons I was told after asking. It appears that the crystals grown in human bodies do agree with the demon crystal cores.

So therefore the crystal cores are favorable to magic.

It has something to do with the status according to Rifua. Nothing new there.

HP: Measurement of health. I’ll die when it hits zero.                                                                  

MP: Magic Points. These are spent to cast spells. Strength: Relates to physical attacks.

Intelligence: deals with magical attacks and defense.                                                                    

Endurance: Physical defense.                          

Agility: is related to evasion, and avoiding being hit.                                                                    

Luck: Pertains to critical hits in battle, and is difficult to raise.

In that case, anyhow, the numerical values of Strength and Intelligence should be there anyway.

“Gurooooooooooooo!!”

Shrugging, I turned in the direction the sound that I heard. In the distance is a really big monster.

It had two angled, blood red eyes, a long tail, and tusks. Black scales covering its body reflected the sun dully.

Did it just bark? Huh…… It appears to be surrounded by dozens of men. In comparison, it was a monster 10 times bigger than any man.

“It’s a behemoth. Perhaps there’s a group quest to take it down or something.”

Is is possible to defeat such a large monster? ……Well, I’m certainly worried about it.

I went on ahead to the town of Hohin. It had the atmosphere of an idyllic rural town, and was surrounded by a tall iron fence. At the gates, two guards were holding a conversation.

As we entered, the guards were enchanted by Rifua’s great beauty, and because of this, the guards waved me, who had the appearance of a common traveller, through the gates without any difficulty.

With Rifua as my guide, we wandered through the fascinating brick town, and found someone to sell my crystal core to.

“It appears that yes, there is also an item box as well as the status menu. I think I can probably open it, but what’s the voice command for it?”                                                    

“Try saying ‘box open’.”                                          

“Box open.”

A black void appeared in the air before me.

“Were you able to open it? Because it is unseen to other people, you can take out and replace anything anywhere or anytime.”

Putting things in is okay, and there doesn’t seem to be a weight or size limit. I sent the 10k rin, which I had received inside of a wallet into the item box.

“When you’re done, just say ‘Close’. It should disappear then.”                                                        

“Oh it really closed. This is really convenient.”

“By the way, is the item box unusable for non-reincarnated people?”                                     

“This world is prepared to be lived in fairly easily.”

Though I’m at a loss at where to find a meal, but for now, I’ll look for an inn. While looking here and there for the inn, I head something not unlike the bark of a small dog from nearby.

Rifua held her stomach suddenly and looked away.

“……….”                                                                        

“Are you hungry? Then let’s look for a place to eat dinner.”                                                               

“Is that so? Because there is a restaurant in…. It’s on the street over there–”

Rifua pointed out the way, but I managed to see a certain shop sign. Why was the writing on the sign was easy to read? I read it.
