I lightly wave my hand to Sisie, look up to the academy's gate towering before my eyes.
Altria academy is located on the east side of the royal capital.
Altria kingdom's royal capital Altonil, the entire district is surrounded by a circular wall.
Although the district extends outside the wall, the block outside of the wall is treated as a downtown.
Altonil has an existing main street running towards the royal castle located north of the city to the gate in the south, there is also a large street east and west in a cruciform cross.
If you go east of the street intersection is the academy, and if you go west spreads the district for noble residences.
There is a plaza at the intersection of the main street, from the plaza to towards the southern gate it gradually becomes the area where the homes of the common people are lined up aside from the nobility.
From the estate of the noble district in the west of Altonil, I arrived at academy by horse-drawn carriage.
The entranceway located between the academy's outer gate and inner gate is lined side-by-side with carriages of nobles who are attending school, the students headed for the inner gate one after another.
侯爵以上の貴族は内門の中まで馬車で入れるが、それより下位の貴族たちはここで馬車を降りて歩いて校舎までいく。The aristocracy of rank higher than marquis are admitted inside carriage the inner gate with their horse, nobility of lower ranks descend from their carriages here and walk to the school building.
この門をくぐると、ゲームが始まる…… Passing through this gate, the game commences……
ここまできたら進むしかないのだ。Having come this far there is no choice but to advance.
私は少しの緊張とともに、高鳴る胸の鼓動を感じながら門をくぐり抜けた。With a little nervousness, I passed through the gate together with the throbbing feeling of my palpitating heart.
画面越しではなくみる学園は、豪華できらびやかなことこの上なかった。The academy which isn't seen over over the screen, was extraordinary above and beyond gorgeous and dazzling.
広大な敷地に建つ白亜の校舎は、内門から続く緑の庭園の先にあった。The white school building is built on a large site, located before the verdant garden which continues from the inner gate.
庭園には春の花々が咲き乱れ、芳しい香りがあたりに漂う。Spring flowers are blooming in the garden, and a rich fragrance wafts around.
私はゆっくりとあたりを見回しながら校舎へ向かって歩いていく。I slowly walked towards the school building while looking around.
ううー緊張する。気を抜いたらこけそうだよ。Uuー I am nervous. It seems I've let my mind wander.
「おーい、コゼット！」 "Oーi, Cosette!"
後方から声をかけられ振り向くと、ゲオルグが走って近づいてきた。When I turned back from being called from behind, George was running drawing closer.
「ゲオルグ！ごきげんよう」 "George! Gokigenyou!"
「お前、大丈夫か？右手と右足が同時に出てるぞ」 "You, are you alright? The right hand and right foot are moving forward at the same time."
「うそっ気付かなかった！……じゃなかった、ありがとうございます、大丈夫ですわ、ゲオルグ様。オホホ」 "No way, I didn't notice! ……That isn't it, thank you very much, it is okay, George-sama. Ohoho."
ゲオルグはここ数年で見違えるほど格好良くなった。George has become attractive these last several years to the extent you can hardly recognize.
以前はやんちゃな美少年という感じだったのが、十五歳になった今は少年の面影はほとんどない。The impression before used to be a mischievous bishounen(pretty boy),now that he is a 15-years-old there is only a trace of his juvenile looks.
顔つきは精悍そのもので、鍛え上げられた身体からはそこはかとない色気すら滲み出ている。The countenance itself is masculine, from the thoroughly tempered body exudes a touch of seductiveness(sex appeal).
もう私が随分見上げなければいけないほど背が高くなった。恐らく百八十センチ近いだろう。He grew taller so now I have to look up quite a bit. It seems close to 180 centimeters perhaps.
「まぁ、知らない奴もいるし、緊張するよな。落ち着け落ち着け」 "Maa, there are others whom I do not know, so I feel nervous. Settle down settle down."
ゲオルグが頭をポンポンと撫でてくる。George caresses his head with a PONPON. (TLN: Not really sure who's head George is stroking here… so by default its George)
……昔は私が撫でていたのに。……In the past I did the stroking.
随分大きくなって……思わず微笑ましい気持ちで見つめてしまう。Considerably bigger…… unintentionally I stared feeling pleasant(kanjis for "smile").
「な、なんだよ。ニヤニヤしやがって」 "Wha, what is it. That grinning(smirking) feel."
ゲオルグが顔を赤くして横を向く。George's face turns red and looks away.
「ありがとう。ゲオルグこそ顔が赤いわよ。熱でもあるの？」 "Thank you. George your face is very red. Is it a fever?"
おでこを触ろうとしたが、手が届かないので頬を触って熱さを確かめる。熱は……ないな。I tried to touch his forehead, but could not reach it so I touched his cheek to check the temperature. Fever is…… not it huh.
「大丈夫だって……なんかこのやりとり、覚えがあるな」 "I'm okay but…… Something like this exchange, do you remember?"
「あはっそうね、あれは……初めて会った時だったかしら。ゲオルグが私のことを睨みつけていて……」 "Ahah seems so huh, That is…… It was the time we met for the first time I wonder. That time George was glaring at me……"
「あれはっ……お前が殿下を惑わす悪女だと思っていたんだよ」 "That…… I thought you were a wicked(ugly) woman trying to deceive(mislead/tempt) his highness."
「悪女！道理でね。なんて目つきの悪い子だろうと思ったわよ」 "Wicked woman! Its no wonder huh. I thought it seemed like a child with bad(evil/poor) eye expression."
「ははっ」 "Haha"
私達は笑い合いながら校舎の入り口へと歩いていった。We walked to the entrance of the school building while laughing together.
なぜか通学中の生徒たちがモーゼの十戎ように左右に分かれている。さすがイケメン効果は素晴らしい。For some reason the students heading to school are divided into right and left like the ten ebisu(?) of Moses. As expected the ikemen effect is magnificent. (TLN: The characters were モーゼの十戎 which is 10 something of Moses. I haven't a clue what it means but that something character is used for ebisu the god of fishing and commerce or for brutish warrior/barbarians? Which makes no sense to me whatsoever so if anyone knows please help. Google-sensei also said something about 10 commandments but that doesn’t sound right either?)
入り口には人だかりが出来ていた。There was a crowd taking place at the entrance.
「混んでるなぁーなんかあるのか？」 "Given the crowding, heyー did something happen?"
「そうねぇ、タイムセールみたいね」 "Sees so huh, it looks like a Time Sale huh."
「タイムセールってなんだ？」 "Whats a Time Sale?"
「そうね……戦場、かしら……」 "Well is it…… A battlefield, I wonder……"
「お前まさか、戦場に……！？」 "You it can't be, to a battlefield……! ?"
タイムセール、そう……それは主婦にとっての戦場。Time Sale, yes…… It's a battlefield for housewives.
いつ始まるかもわからないタイムセールの始まりそうな箇所をあらかじめチェックし、何食わぬ顔をしてその周囲で待機したり…… When it starts isn't known checking beforehand the places where Time Sale is expected to happen, you make a nonchalant look then standby around……
「あれは、奇襲みたいなものだからね……」 "That is, something like a surprise attack……"
「奇襲？！襲われたのか？！卑怯な！」 "Surprise attack? ! Have you been attacked? ! Cowardly!"
そして、タイムセールが始まった瞬間に猛ダッシュして目星を付けていた商品をひっつかむ。Then, at the moment the time sale commences, make a hard(ferocious) dash to grab the item that had the mark(marked star?).
しかし…… However……
「戦果をあげられるとは、限らないのよ」 "To be able to raise war results, there isn't a limit."
「そうだな……戦場は生き残れれば御の字の場合もある。必ずしも戦果はあげられない……」 "Thats right…… The battlefield may be most satisfying in the case of survival. We can't always raise battle results……"
自分の目当ての品を必ず確保できるとは限らない。There isn't necessarily a guarantee that you can always secure the intended item yourself
他の客に確保されてしまっていたり、目当ての品がセール除外品だったりするのだ。If it is secured by other customers, then the intended item becomes an excluded sale item.
「残念な結果になることもあるわ。でも、私は諦めない」 "Sometimes the results become disappointing. But, I will not give up."
「コゼット……！俺の知らないところで、随分苦労をしていたんだな！」 "Cosette……! In a place unknown to me, was struggling so much!"
せっかく出向いたセール会場。必ずお得なセール品をゲットするのだ！At great pains to go to the Sale venue. Without fail the bargain sale item, will get(GETTO) it!
ってあれ？ Tte huh(are)?
「ゲオルグ、なに泣いてるの？」 "George, what are you crying about?"
「お前がそんな苦しい思いをしていたとは知らなくて……俺は……ううっ」 "I didn't know you had such painful experience…… I…… Uu."
ゲオルグが悔しげな声を出して泣いている。George is crying with a regretful voice.
まったく、体は大きくなってもまだまだ子供ねえ。Really, even if the body grew bigger he is still in some way a child.
「令嬢にしてはやけに図太くてたくましいと常々思っていたが、まさかそんな経験をしていたとは……コゼット、俺はお前を尊敬する」 "Although I always thought you were awfully bold and strong-willed for a young lady, by no means with such experience…… Cosette, I respect you."
「…………ありがとう…………？」 "…………Thank you…………?"
なんだか失礼なことを言われている気がする。Somehow the declaration feels a little rude in a way.
