Finding the Gold Dragon 18

Irlina spoke some helpful words.

“Although it has Dispel, it can only restrict regular magic, and has no effect towards spirit magic. The Dispel can restrict up to the middle ranking, Class 6 magic spells from the feeling I get from it. Not sure who created it, but whoever it is, they have quite the considerable skill.”

Listening to Irlina’s meticulous analysis, Illan became tongue-tied.

“Irlina, you’re able to feel all of that? Quite amazing. However, I don’t know any Class 7 magic spells. Do you by chance know any?”

Irlina’s facial expression did not seem too bright.

“Yes, I do have a few that I’m able to use, but it’s still unstable to use and apply mana right now…. If they attack me during the time I’m casting the spell….. I think it’d be best if we used spirit magic instead.”

Staring at the group who was busy thinking up tactics, Id simply proposed an idea.

“Hey, I think it’ll be easier if we were to just break the rod that guy is holding.”

It seemed like a complete obvious answer to Reindelph and Grey, but there was a different reaction from Illan.

“Id, that might be possible if we had a capable Sword Master in our group, but what you’re saying is almost impossible. The other guys will quickly defend, and we don’t have anyone who can pass through their defense. Even if someone could make it to the rod, there’s a strong protector around it. It’s nearly impossible to destroy it if the weapon isn’t good enough.”

Id nodded his head. First off, getting to the rod wouldn’t be difficult if he just applies a movement technique, and Lamia would be more than enough as a weapon. Thinking up his own tactics, Id twisted his neck and began to stretch.

“Doesn’t seem too hard to match those conditions.”

Illan wasn’t sure what Id was up to, but he could tell that Id was about to make a move.

“Nevertheless Id, I’m telling you it’s impossible with our current group.”

“Yes, alright.”

Not knowing if Id had understood their situation or not, he confidently walked to the front of the group. Grey kept calling out to Id and even tried to grab his wrist, but all he grabbed was empty air.

“He, he’s gone.”

“He’s over there!”

Hael yelled out as she pointed towards the man with the 2-handed sword. Id was just in front of them, but quickly disappeared and was now in front of the bandit holding the rod. And, the moment they had thought that Id’s hand and sword had moved, Id was already gone from that spot. He was now right in front of their nose again.

On his waist, a sword was mysteriously holstered to it, and it was difficult to tell when it had appeared. The only one who could see Id moving at high speed was the High elf Irlina. However, even she was unable to see Id swinging his sword.

While the group was sidetracked and absorbed into looking at Id’s movements, something happened to the bandits.

First off, the 2-handed sword was flopped onto the floor, and the bead that was embedded in the rod was cut in half and rolling around. Ignoring the absentminded boss, the rest of the bandits slowly began to retreat. Even the proud boss threw away his prized 2-handed sword and rod, and began to rush behind his subordinates’ heels. By the time the group had looked back at the hill, there was nothing left.

A mountain of questions began to pour onto Id from the group.

“Id, how did you…”

“How did you move like that?”

The first person to ask the question was Grey, and the second person to ask was Illan. Especially for a sword user like Grey, he was unable to breathe as he waited for Id’s response. However, not knowing how to explain himself, Id felt troubled. It was quite simple for him to go against the bandits, but it was a major headache to deal with this group. How was he to explain what ‘ki’ was. After pondering for a few moments, he spoke a few lame words.

“This is…….a combination of a movement technique and mana…..it’s quite troublesome to explain.”

At this moment, even the polite Illan pushed Grey aside and spoke.

“Id, what does that mean? I’ve studied quite a bit into the different theories of magic, but I have yet to come across or see what you’re talking about. Furthermore, it would be nearly impossible to see that type of movement speed from a normal swordsman.”

Not being able to explain things too well, Id felt stifled.

“Illan, either way, my movement speed came from physical strength, and it can be taught to anyone. If you’re that doubtful, I can even teach you if you’d like.”

The one to intercept Id’s words was Grey. Id’s surprising movement speed was worth more than any treasure in Grey’s eyes.

“Id, will I be able to learn it too? I really want to learn it no matter what. Please teach me.”

Instead of explaining things to the group, Id felt that it was better to just teach them. As soon as Id agreed to Grey’s request, everybody wanted to learn, and because he was unable to reject some of them while accepting others, he agreed to teaching everybody. Id was dumbfounded.

‘I need to hurry and go back to my hometown, but now I need to teach martial arts in this strange land.’

Telling the group that he’ll teach them when he had time, he was easily able to handle the situation.

The group continued to move their feet towards their destination, and their footsteps seemed to be lighter and stronger than it was before. Amongst them, Grey seemed to be the lightest and looked as if he would fly away at any moment. Seeing that this opportunity was a once in a lifetime deal, Grey was yelling in delight internally. Where else would he be able to learn such a thing.
