Interlude

Location: Inside a tent where its fabric was suspended by tree branches.

There were several boxes decorated with extravagant ornaments there, as well as a circular table and a chair. A carpet was spread out along the ground; on it sat the Elf Princess, Shera—a blank expression on her face.

A slight distance away, propping himself up against one of the tent’s support poles while playing a flute—was the Elf Prince, Keera. His eyes flashed, and a purple light started to gather around Shera: it was the light of a spell.

The expression on Shera’s face twisted.

“Ahhhh...”

Taking the flute from his lips, Keera sneered.

“Heh heh heh... ‘Overwrite: Shera will answer any question I ask her.’”

“Ngh... Nnnnnnnngh...”

Shera’s anguish slowly subsided, eventually returning to the vague expression she had on her face from before.

“How about it, Shera? Feel like answering my questions?”

“Yes... Ask anything you like.”

“What did that Diablo guy demand of you? What did he order you to do? Not knowing that just pisses me off. Say it... I’ll have you do the same and more using ‘Overwrite’!”

“Um... Orders?” Shera looked confused.

“He used that collar to give you orders, didn’t he? He had to have been lying when he said he didn’t.”

“Hm... Oh, yeah... He did.”

“Ha! As I thought!”

“He said to ‘shake hands with Rem, and with a smile,’” Shera said, embarrassed.

“...What.”

“Haha... We were fighting over Diablo back then...”

BAM! Keera slammed his fist against a nearby tree trunk.

“Not things like that, you idiot!”

“But he didn’t order me to do anything else!”

“So he wasn’t lying... Damn it.”

Right then, far off in the distance—a sound similar to an explosion.

“Hm? Did some kind of beast show up or something? Even though they’re supposed to be elites, they’re having that hard a time with a few weaklings... I’ll have to punish them after this is over,” Keera said, his words laced with venom.

Shera stared in the direction the sound had come from. Her chest started to feel warmer.

“...Could it be...? No, of course not... I did something awful...”

“Hey, Shera, here’s the next one: ‘Overwrite: Shera cannot move.’”

“Huh!? Ngh!? Hngg...!?”

Shera’s voice was tainted with anguish once more.

“Hehe... No squirming around now, got it?”

Keera grabbed both of Shera’s hands and threw a pair of handcuffs on her that had been hanging on an adjacent tree branch.

“What are you doing!?”

“Watch, and you’ll see soon enough. After all, you can’t move, so that’s about all you can do.”

Saying that, Keera kicked over a large pot lying at his feet. It toppled over, the lid coming undone, and a viscous mucus oozing out from the inside. This wasn’t just any kind of mucus, however— It squirmed as it moved.

“Eek!?”

Shera screamed, but with her arms suspended in the air by her wrists, she wasn’t able to move.

“Hah! No need to get so scared,” Keera snickered. “It’s just a Slime.”

“N-No! It’s gonna melt me and eat me!”

“If it was one of the carnivorous types, it would. This guy only eats fabrics.”

With a sizzling sound, the carpet started to dissolve away. The expression on Shera’s face stiffened.

“I don’t want that either! Go away!”

“If you don’t like it, then just run away. Those handcuffs aren’t locked.”

“Nghhh... I want to run away... But I can’t move... Wh-Why? What’s happening to me!?”

Keera put the flute back into the sash around his waist, grabbing a bottle of some kind of alcohol instead. Using his teeth to remove the cork, he spat it out and began guzzling down the contents of the bottle.

The slime advanced on Shera. Dissolving the carpet as it moved, it slowly came closer...

“Eek! No, don’t come near me!”

Its movements were slow, but Shera could not move.

The slime started to wrap around her boots. It was so hot that the tips of her toes heated up, and the top of her boots started to dissolve. The slime entered her shoes, making contact with her skin.

“Nooooooo!!”

The slime was lukewarm; it was a sensation like being licked by a giant tongue.

The shoes that once covered her feet melted away. It left the metal and leather behind, showing that it really did only eat fabric. The sickening feeling of a tongue crawling over her skin made its way from her ankles towards her knees.

“Ah! N-No! What!?”

The moment it touched the back of her leg, it sent a jolt up her spine, making her shudder.

Shera couldn’t move of her own accord— It was almost as if she didn’t want to move. Even though she wanted to run away, the thought of “not wanting to move” completely overtook everything else in her mind.

Continuing to down his drink, Keera laughed as he watched her.

“Ha-hah! So you like it on the back of your legs, you lewd, lewd girl!”

“Wh-What are you saying!? This feels completely gross!”

Finally, the Slime had made its way up to her thighs, then wrapped itself around her waist. She was overtaken by a sensation she had never felt on the lower parts of her body before, making the rest of her body start to go limp.

“Fwah... Nrgh...”

She gritted her teeth. Her breathing sounded strange, but she absolutely didn’t want Keera to hear her voice now.

“Mmmph! Nrrrrrrgh!”

“Haha... You sure are putting up a fight, aren’t you. I’ll join you once I finish drinking this. I’m sure you’ll be good and ready by then.”

“Nghhh! Mnnn! —Ahh... Keera...”

“Yes?”

“I...hate you...”

“Ha! I already knew that. Don’t piss me off now, it’ll only make me want to kill you before we make a successor.”

“I’d rather you kill me than do that!”

“After all, I bet you think it, too— That it would have been better if I had been eaten by those monsters instead of our big brother, is that it!?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about! Our older brother died before I was even born!”

The Slime had wrapped itself around Shera’s entire body. It had made it all the way up to her chest, wrapping itself around her arms as well. She couldn’t move now even if she wanted to; it was like she had sunk into a pit of mud.

This lukewarm, soft, squirming mass was crawling over her skin. It stimulated her thighs, her bottom, her back, and a host of other places on her body. The feeling made Shera’s breath catch in her throat, sending convulsions throughout the muscles in her back.

“Gnh—ngh! Mnnn! Hrg! Ah—ahhhn!!”

Shera’s green clothes were turned to foam by the semi-translucent Slime, with her undergarments now exposed. She thought she would die from the shame.

“N-No... Stop... Stop it...” Tears dripped from her cheeks.

Shera knew that, even if she called for Diablo, there was no chance of him coming. After all, she was the one who had left the group after saying all those terrible things to him.

But even so, Shera cried out the Demon Lord’s name.

The side of the tent ripped open—
