Chapter 24: Abandoned Railway Line – Get Off the Train at the Abandoned Station (3)

Xu Shenxing was not a baldy.

“Listen. I’m just a little worried about my hairlines.”

He carefully explained to the girl, who was still a little confused.

“Oh oh…” The girl nodded, though she did not understand. She blinked her big claret eyes, confused at why Xu Shenxing had such a reaction.

“Sigh…” Xu Shenxing found the girl was more simple and natural than he thought. He explained in so many colorful words, but she would simply treat them as noise. He felt a little tired in his heart. “Why should I care about this kind of thing…”

Xu Shenxing adjusted his mind, deciding to deal with her in a calm and mature manner.

At this time, it seemed the girl finally sorted out her thoughts.

“That is to say; you are very conscious of your hair because you are trying to prevent yourself from turning bald, right?”

Too bad. It seemed this girl had a naturally sharp tongue.

“All in all, can we just stop talking about this topic?”

Xu Shenxing rubbed his temples, trying to lower his sudden increase in blood pressure.

Since he understood the Qi of Dobe and became a Dobe [1], it had been so long ago since he had a feeling of “something which is difficult to deal with.”

Looking at the girl’s confused face, Xu Shenxing sighed.

“Well, let’s just start from the most basic… Do you know why you are turning into such a shape?”

“I don’t know!”

Why is your expression so cheerful…

“Then next. Do you have any RMB… I mean, the currency of humans?”

“None!” The girl continued answering with a happy face.

“I guess so, too…”

Xu Shenxing sighed again.

So, he almost had a clue about the next thing he had to do.

The first was to determine the reason she turned into such a shape – though he thought that her change was very likely caused by the rise of the Spirit Qi in Jiangjin city. However, there were many things older than Jiangyue Railway Line in this city. If it was simply caused by Spirit Qi, there should be already thousands of monsters wandering in the city now.

So, there must be some other reason which caused such a heavy and old train to turn into a cute girl.

Even if she turned into a girl, there should be a basic principle behind it!

Now, Xingyanemon wasn’t here. So, it was obvious that there was only one person who might know the reason in the whole Jiangjin city.

“Jiangyue… Ah, can I call you Jiangyue?”

“No problem. Or rather, please call me Jiangyue.” The girl nodded. Her bright eyes were smiling.

“I’m sorry, but can you wait til the end of my working time?”

Xu Shenxing asked a little embarrassed.

If he absented from work, it was very likely that he would lose this leisurely work…

“I see.”

The girl nodded slightly. Her black hair slipped from her shoulders and hung down in front of her chest, which made her as gentle as a daughter of an eminent family.

Then she huddled up under the cash desk. She raised up her little face, looking at Xu Shenxing with her claret eyes.

“…”

“…”

“Uh, Jiangyue?”

“Yes? Mr. Salesclerk.”

The girl smiled sweetly.

“Nothing. I just want to ask you why you want to get under the desk.”

“Eh? Isn’t this facility used for rest?” Jiangyue showed a surprised expression.

No person would choose to rest under the desk!

Xu Shenxing subconsciously tried to retort her.

However, soon after he remembered that this girl was not a human.

She was a train…

Could it be that in the eyes of the train, the desk was similar to the station platform?

Xu Shenxing paused for a few seconds, then asked, “Jiangyue. How did you acquire the knowledge of humanity society?”

“From the conversation of the passengers.”

So, that was the reason.

Jiangyue Railway Line was a tourist route. Though it would serve a lot of tourists every year, you could imagine that there weren’t too many people willing to talk about their boring daily life on the tourist train.

So, it was perfectly reasonable that this girl lacked the knowledge about people’s everyday life.

Though Xu Shenxing solved his doubt, he still didn’t feel happy.

He was quite aware that what trouble it could be to take care of a guy who was void of common sense… When Moli just came to this world, she always hid in the corrugated carton and cast hundreds of defense magic spells on it. She called it  “The evil overlord’s castle”.

In order to pull the otaku evil overlord out of her castle… no, the corrugated carton, Xu Shenxing wasted a lot of time and energy.

“Human beings won’t rest under any desk… If you can honestly sit aside, I would be very grateful.”

“Really? Rest by posing like this… Human beings are really incredible.” Jiangyue said with a sigh. She came out from the cash desk, posing as if she was sitting on an invisible chair.

No, no, no! Your way of thinking was the most incredible!

Xu Shenxing gaped at the girl.

However, because it was too much trouble to explain it to the girl, in addition to ordinary people couldn’t see her, it wouldn’t hurt if he let her keep that. So, Xu Shenxing decided not to explain to her and just let her squat there…

Anyway, the physical quality of supernatural creatures were far better than humans. Even if she performed a squat for a long time, it should be fine.

In order to save time, Xu Shenxing summoned the spirit spirits. Afterwards, under Jiangyue’s surprised and curious eyes, he ordered one of the spirit ghost to go to see the God of Land and tell this event to her.

Then the spirit ghost pointed to his own mouth.

“Oh, I forgot you guys can’t speak…”

The spirit ghosts had their tongues cut off when they were still alive, so they couldn’t speak.

Xu Shenxing had to tear off a paper from the notepad. He wrote a brief summary of the event on it, then folding it into a paper airplane and handing it over to the spirit ghost.

The spirit ghost was still quite childish at heart. He held the paper airplane as he happily left the convenience store.

The other spirit ghosts looked at the lucky one with envy.

Seeing their expressions, Xu Shenxing couldn’t help but sigh. He began to fold paper airplanes for other spirit ghosts.

“Ah, can I help you?” Jiangyue asked as she turned her head sideways and raised her hands.

“Of course.” Xu Shenxing passed over the notepad to her.

Anyway, paper airplanes were very easy to make. Even if it was Jiangyue, she should be able to fold the paper into an airplane.

After some little time, when Xu Shenxing almost folded paper airplanes for all the spirit ghosts, he heard Jiangyue’s cheer. “Done!”

Wasn’t she too slow?

Xu Shenxing raised up his head. He found that she wasn’t folding the paper’s into an airplane, instead assembled several papers into a steam locomotive.

“What degree of talent! How did you do that?!”

Xu Shenxing’s confidence of paper folding was completely destroyed by the paper steam locomotive.

“Hey hey. In fact, I secretly remember it when one of the passengers folded it in the train. I never really thought about it that one day I can personally fold one.” The girl smiled sweetly, then handed over the paper steam locomotive to the only spirit ghost who still hadn’t yet gotten any paper airplane from Xu Shenxing.

Immediately, all the spirit ghosts gathered around the girl, which made Xu Shenxing feel a bit lonely…

Jiang tore off several sheets paper from the notepad, then said with a smile,”Mr Salesclerk, it’s in fact very simple. Let’s fold it together.”

[1] Dobe is the Japanese slang word for “idiot”. Chinese youngsters use it to refer to a ridiculous person who is a stranger, or a funny one who is a friend. Besides, “Dobe Qi” has a similar pronunciation with “Battle Qi”.
