White fog enveloped the towering mountain, and another Xue Ying appeared in the middle of the three present before . The four figures looked toward the distant ugly man who wielded a blood-colored arc-blade and lightly greeted, "Wan Jiu from the Milky Way Prefecture . "

"That's me . " The corners of the ugly man's lip curled upward ever so slightly .

Wan Jiu had taken first place in both the ranking battle and the survival battle of the Milky Way Prefecture Selections .

"One-on-one . Even if one of us is about to die, neither of my comrades will interfere," the ugly man continued, his eyes betraying his expectation . He was currently ranked ninth in the Bloodshed God Palace Battle, and with only seventy people still alive for the moment, it was no doubt that he and his comrades would rank in the top hundred . However, there were only twenty three powerful existences, including the three grand elders and His Majesty, currently in the Bloodshed God Palace . Once the time came for the powerful existences select disciples, they would generally select about eighteen in total .

As for the rest?

Anyone who ranked in the top hundred but had not been accepted as a disciple by any of the powerful existences under their own initiative would still eventually end up as disciples, after His Majesty ordered the powerful existences to take about four to six each .

However, these Deities would usually not be emphasized as much by the powerful existences and would only receive casual guidance . It was only those the powerful existences truly regarded highly upon, or those whose characters they liked, that they would truly teach with more heart .

The difference between casual guidance and serious tutelage was insurmountable!

Wan Jiu had long decided to first secure a position in the top hundred before trying to make himself seem dazzling in the eyes of the powerful existences, which eventually led to him putting this plan into motion .

He first made sure to grab a Bloody Slaughter Deity warrior for himself and raised his rank to the very top . He then used his combat power to snatch a second Deity warrior which he then handed over to one of the Deities with a combat power similar to his, whom he ordered: I'm giving you this Bloody Slaughter Deity warrior so it may aid you in landing a spot in the top hundred . However, you must follow my orders for the rest of this battle .

Seeing how the other party did not have a Deity warrior, and therefore no certainty of getting into the top hundred, he had naturally accepted this proposition .

Using this same method, Wan Jiu then coerced another Deity into following him, the two of them now being ranked 15th and 18th respectively! They had both secured their positions in the top hundred .

Having used my strength to bring two other Deities into the top hundred, I've most likely already caught the eye of some powerful existences… Wan Jiu looked forward to the fruits of his toil .  It's still not quite enough, though . I've got to do a final stunt, where I defeat a Deity who's currently attracting the attention of all those powerful existences . That will cause more powerful existences to place their focus on me .

As for the person currently attracting the attention of most powerful existences?

Wan Jiu had selected Xue Ying for the role .  This Dong Bo is about evenly matched with me in terms of strength, but he's far too young, having cultivated for only 2,000 or so years! He's likely the expert most focused on by the powerful existences .

I'm also certain I can deal with him too .

It has to be him!

Wan Jiu therefore chose Xue Ying, bringing along the comrades he had previously aided to surround Xue Ying .

The other two would not participate in the battle, since their combat power wasn't on the same level as Wan Jiu's . They were only here to frighten Xue Ying, so as to dissuade him from fleeing . If he were to try to escape, they would immediately surround him! He had chosen those two comrades since they were quite close to him in terms of combat power, though they had a poorer fortune, seeing how they had been unable to obtain Deity warriors by themselves .

He felt that, with the three of them surrounding him, Xue Ying would be rational enough to make the right decision .

"One-on-one?" The four Xue Yings looked toward Wan Jiu . "A life or death battle between the two of us?"

"Right . " Wan Jiu's eyes were cold .

"Let's do as you wish, then," all four Xue Yings collectively replied . "Bring it . "

"That's the Dong Bo from the Calm Sea Prefecture I've heard about . Such courage . " Despite his words, Wan Jiu was inwardly rejoicing . The outcome he was most afraid of was Xue Ying trying to escape . With the three of them surrounding him afterward, they could certainly kill him, but that would do nothing to reveal his true personal value .

Standing a fair distance away, Wan Jiu's figure suddenly turned blurry before condensing into two bodies .

Two of Wan Jiu were now standing side by side, both holding two identical blood-colored arc-blades each .

"Mirage Deity Heart?" Xue Ying chuckled .

"I've not delved as far as you have in the Mirage Deity Heart, and I am only able to produce one avatar," Wan Jiu's two bodies said at the same time . "But can you tell the real body apart from the avatar? Do you know which of these four arc-blades is the real one?

As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding world began to distort as an invisible force surged all throughout the surrounding mountain region .

Sou! Sou!

Two of Wan Jiu came charging forward at the same time .

The four Xue Yings also stepped forward to block their advance, although they had became quite a bit slower under the effect of the quagmire .

Dong Bo Xue Ying put most of his focus on that Mirage secret skill of his, with his Star Deity Heart skills in second place . But inside my domain, his speed is greatly decreased . Even with four of them working together, there's little chance he'll defeat me! Wan Jiu was brimming with confidence .

The two finally began their fight .

Outside, everything was going according to Wan Jiu's plans .

Since Xue Ying was the main focus of a number of the powerful existences, this battle was sure to catch their attention .

"Interesting . This Wan Jiu person was able to put two other Deities under his command . Those two listen to all his orders . "

Wan Jiu was just a very slight step away from completing both the World Deity Heart and the Splitting Heavens Deity Heart . With his accomplishments in the Profound Mysteries of both these aspects, he could craft a nearly perfect blade technique with the base of 'one becoming the world!' This blade technique of his was practically flawless . Furthermore, the Profound Mysteries of Splitting Heaven brought the power of his blade technique to a terrifying stage . He had even created a domain-related secret skill with a taste of the world .

He had a domain secret skill focused on oppression!

His true body was working hand-in-hand with his mirage body!

And he was doing close combat using his virtually perfect blade technique!

Dang dang dang .  Xue Ying might have had four bodies working in concert, but he was having a hard time trying to break through the defense conferred by his opponent's blade technique .

"You can only stay alive for a bit longer because of those four bodies of yours, but I've no reason to fear three of them . As you fight frantically for your life, a gap will surely appear in your defenses, and I might just kill your true body instead," Wan Jiu's voice immediately permeated Xue Ying's mind . His eyes burned with excitement .

He was deliberately taunting Xue Ying .
