“Absorb!”
Energy in the surroundings was once again engulfed by Qin Feng’s limitless appetite.
“Spatial Leap!”
Bai Li cast the spatial skill and both of them once again leaped into the void.
“Don’t you run!”
The deeper they went, the more anxious Bai Li got. She never expected the Void Locust Kaiser to be this persistent.
But it was entirely understandable. In such a realm nearing its demise, the energy core left by the Immortal would be at its weakest. This was the only time one could get near enough and snatch the core into their personal dimension.
The energy emanated by the Immortal’s core was absurdly powerful. If one could get hold of the core, then the fearsome power could be controlled like how one harnessed the energy engraved in a sacred stone.
Qin Feng was not sure about the Void Locust Kaiser’s intention. He only knew that the energy core might be destroyed if the Void Locust Kaiser were to recklessly rip a giant rift in there.
If the core were to explode, then inevitably the blue star would instantly collapse, too. Qin Feng would not allow it.
‘Faster!’ Qin Feng was growing uneasy. Before he even said anything, Bai Li had sensed the urgency and quickened their pace.
However, both she and the Void Locust Kaiser were deity-tier spatial beasts. Bai Li could barely shorten the gap between them.
When they were at the Aether Realm, the time needed to reach the energy core from Dragon Island was more than ten days. Now that they were traveling through Spatial Teleportation, they had passed through the lava layer in less than half a day.
A different world came into sight.
The center was filled with a translucent, amber-colored flowing liquid.
The liquid was as viscous as molten metal. Infused by energy, the liquid radiated violently.
In facing the dangerous and unstable substance, Qin Feng did not dare to let Bai Li attack the Void Locust Kaiser.
If the Void Locust Kaiser decided to retaliate, Qin Feng did not know whether they could muster enough resistance without triggering the liquid.
“You can’t pass through that. Give up now, or I will make you,” Qin Feng warned infuriatingly.
The Void Locust Kaiser ignored him and continued to teleport forward.
They had no other choice but to chase after it.
Slowly, a starglobe came into sight.
Even from afar, the starglobe looked humongous. The globe appeared idle. Fire runes flickered dimly and sparingly on its surface.
It was a scarlet core. Instead of scorching heat, Qin Feng felt warmth as they approached it.
More so, he felt connected to it.
He was born on this starglobe. The core seemed to recognize that and was embracing him.
Qin Feng was an orphan. This warmth must be how a mother’s hug felt, he reckoned.
Actually, he should not be feeling any temperature as he was leaping through an isolated realm.
But the unexplainable, vivid sensation lingered.
Qin Feng got a better look at the globe as they drew closer to it. The ice starglobe’s diameter in the Aether Realm was at least three hundred meters wide. The scarlet starglobe in front of him had only ten meters left now.
Without vast energy surrounding it, the core could be easily absorbed by an S-tier.
It was no different for the Void Locust Kaiser.
That was the reason why it was rushing here.
Qin Feng commanded as he saw that the Void Locust Kaiser was getting closer and closer to the core.
“Attack!”
Bai Li did not hesitate. Her spatial runes charged straight at the Void Locust Kaiser.
The Void Locust Kaiser did not expect Bai Li to launch an attack this close to the core. It retaliated furiously.
Spatial runes exploded within the realm. Qin Feng reflexively pushed Bai Li away.
She managed to get away in time but Qin Feng was not as lucky. The shockwave hit Qin Feng and blasted him as well as the Void Locust Kaiser out of the realm. They both plunged into the amber pool.
Instantly, Qin Feng felt the water rippling through every cell in his body.
Boom!
A flame ignited on Qin Feng’s body.
Rapidly, the Divine Flame Imperial Robe on him was burnt away. His battle suit caught fire and disappeared in no time too. Even his Verdant Emperor Saber was on the verge of melting.
Bai Li’s eyes rounded in despair.
“I am fine!” A sound came through her consciousness.
In the next moment, Qin Feng began to move inside the energy pool. He retrieved the saber into one of his spatial rings, then endured the infusion of the amber energy.
He was indeed in pain as his cells were scorched by the amber liquid. But almost immediately, new cells proliferate to replace the destroyed old cells.
The fire could be destructive, but could also nurture new life.
Qin Feng’s physique was already sturdy. Yet, the flame seemed to have further reconstructed his body. His physique did not instantly level up but its potential was raised to a new, limitless height.
He did not indulge in the upgrade for too long but hastily jumped into the air.
“Rampage Influx!”
Qin Feng burst into speed and landed on the back of the Void Locust Kaiser. He grabbed its wings tightly.
“You can’t run this time!”
Chirp!
The Void Locust Kaiser shrieked pathetically. In contrast to Qin Feng, it faced a different fate after being dropped into the liquid. The flame had softened its outer shell considerably.
Qin Feng did not draw his Verdant Emperor Saber. He believed in his physique more at this point.
Crack!
Qin Feng tore the Void Locust Kaiser’s wing brutally. Silver-colored blood spurted out from the lesion and turned into spatial stone immediately.
A normal beast would have dropped dead at this point. But being a spatial beast, the Void Locust Kaiser was far more resistant to all the other types of runes.
But such resistance still had its limit. The beast was not invincible.
Qin Feng extended his arms and grabbed on the next pair of wings. He tore off the rest of its wings.
The Void Locust Kaiser was half-submerged in the amber liquid while being attacked by Qin Feng from the back. It wanted to trigger a spatial rift to escape but found that its power was being suppressed by even greater strength.
Qin Feng stepped on its body and strolled to its head.
In the next moment, he raised his fist and struck it right between its antenna.
Crack!
His fist was buried deep into the Void Locust Kaiser’s head.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Qin Feng threw his fist relentlessly. He smashed the head into a mush until his entire body sank into it.
The red liquid flowed down and was wrapped around the beast. It had lost all signs of vitality. The Void Locust Kaiser had stiffened into a giant spatial stone.
Boom!
Qin Feng’s consciousness rocked the space around him, signifying its upgrade!
