Chapter 126 – A Duel Between Men

“Junior Sister isn’t an object, how can we make a wager over her?” Xiang Qing was extremely disapproving of Seventh Senior Brother’s proposal.

Seventh Senior Brother slammed his fist onto the table causing the soup to spill. Fortunately for me, Xiang Qing had a quick reaction time, he grabbed hold of me and avoided soiling his own clothes.

The noise here attracted the attention of the other senior brothers. They gradually gathered around us to see what kind of interesting thing was going to happen.

Xiang Qing was very embarrassed at this display, and angrily scolded, “Seventh Junior Brother, are you finished?! This display is too ugly!”

“Yes! I am ugly, and you are beautiful!” Seventh Senior Brother was unwilling to give up.

“Let’s not quarrel here,” Xiang Qing attempted to calm things down, “Moreover, I do not wish to leave Maoshan Sect.”

“Then you’re saying I’ll lose for sure?”

Eh…..looking at Seventh Senior Brother’s expression, I realized that his and my way of words were quite similar. Xiang Qing continued, “I specialize in martial arts, and you Seventh Junior Brother, your talent is in business ordeals and the sorts. There won’t be a fair competition.”

Xiang Qing was very helpless. He put me down onto the ground, and then followed along. Seeing that the jerk wanted to do something to Shifu, I also followed behind, and so did the many people gathered around.

Yin Zi and Jian Nan waved to me from atop a tree. As I climbed up, they quietly asked, “Why did they get into a fight all of a sudden? It can’t be because of that…..”

Jian Nan gave a dejected response, “Should be a fight over Miss Yin Zi.”

“You should go and die!” I angrily kicked this stupid frog down the tree, “If Shifu dares fight over Yin Zi, then I will fight Yin Zi for my Shifu!”

Yin Zi was shaking with anger, “If you guys say anymore, I’ll get mad.”

I felt very wronged, and very depressed as well. Right now, the person I liked was fighting over another girl…..the heroine of this was that crow rather than myself. This kind of thing, I ought to be ashamed of.

Yin Zi had also suffered injustice, he said dejectedly, “Why isn’t it two beauties that are fighting for me, and instead…..these two grown men…..”

The white clouds turned into dark and menacing veil over the sky. The wind suddenly gusted, bringing along with it the leaves and dirt to the two figures over on the hillside.

The bottom half of Xiang Qing’s light blue robe fluttered in the breeze. The miniscule action of Xiang Qing raising his hand had caused Seventh Senior Brother to become tense. He brought forth his wooden sword and stared dead straight at his opponent in front.

“Can we not fight?” Xiang Qing hesitantly asked.

“That won’t do!” Seventh Senior Brother stepped forward and launched a surprise attack. Xiang Qing let out a sigh, and gently stepped away to avoid it. With a single push from Xiang Qing, Seventh Senior Brother lay sprawled onto the ground, but immediately shot back up.

The people who were watching nearby cheered on as the fight prolonged. From the crowd, a voice called out, “We should call over Miss Yin Zi so she can watch this scene.”

“Miss Yin Zi?” Xiang Qing’s movements became stiff. He walked over to Seventh Senior Brother and struck his waist, angrily asking, “What does she have to do with me?”

“Aren’t you in good relations with Miss Yin Zi?” Seventh Senior Brother loudly shouted, “Having secret rendezvous, are you planning not to admit them?”

“Since when was I in a good relationship with Miss Yin Zi?!” Xiang Qing was extremely perplexed.

Seventh Senior Brother said with grief, “I heard from her very own mouth!”

Yin Zi almost took a head-first dive off the tree. To ease his temperament, Jian Nan and I both gave him a comforting pat on the back.

To find out that the most popular woman of Maoshan Sect, Yin Zi, was in relations with another man, all the surrounding men fiercely glared at Xiang Qing. They all rolled up their sleeves and prepared to join in on the duel. Xiang Qing explained, “It’s not like that, Miss Yin Zi and I don’t have any relations.”

“So your plan all along was to make use of Miss Yin Zi’s feelings and then abandon her?” This voice was the tone of anger.

“It’s not like that.”

“You wanted to show off your popularity? And play around with the beauty’s heart? You hateful bastard!” This voice contained the tone of jealousy.

“It’s not like that.”

“You are simply a dishonoring bastard! Incompetent!” This voice was plain rude.

“It was never like that at all!”

No one believed his words. Blinded by anger and jealousy, a lot of people surrounded him. Xiang Qing did not wish to raise his hand against his fellow sect members nor did he wish to hurt them, thus he could only run around. At this moment, someone shouted out aloud, “We should invite Miss Yin Zi over so she can see the true colors of this guy.”

Hearing the words coming out these nosy people’s mouths, we suggested to first hide in a safe location and transform back into our human forms before reemerging.

Everyone immediately rushed over to reveal Xiang Qing’s evil doings one after another as Yin Zi and I approached. As they spat out heinous and villainous words against Xiang Qing, I really wanted to swipe my paws at these guys. I quickly defended, “Brother Xiang isn’t that kind of person! You are speaking nonsense! He is a good person!”

“Could it be…..that he wants to obtain Miss Miao Miao as well? He wants to swallow two in one bite!” Upon this discovery, a senior brother erupt in anger. He gathered several others to continue berating Xiang Qing.

Xiang Qing only arrived at my side and said, “Miss Miao Miao, don’t listen to the rubbish they’re spewing, I’m innocent.”

I certainly knew that he was innocent. I immediately stepped forth to blockade the other senior brothers, but unexpectedly, a wooden sword had suddenly flown in the direction of my head.

As I was about block this flying sword with my hands, Xiang Qing swiftly arrived before me and covered my eyes. That wooden sword had collided with his forehead leaving a cut and a fresh trail of blood.

Shifu was injured, and he was bleeding, would he die like this? The memories of the past flashed through my brain like lightning, fear and angst began to fill my head as I recalled past experiences. I put aside wanting to get revenge on that bastard that attacked Xiang Qing, held him and cried, “You’re injured again, don’t die, don’t leave Miao Miao behind.”

“It’s okay, I’m not hurt.” Xiang Qing gently stroked my head.

The last time he said he was okay, he lied to me. I raised my head up, and stared with teary eyes.

“I really am okay.” Xiang Qing repeated once more. He turned his head and very loudly scolded those senior brothers, “Have you guys played enough?!”

The senior brother who thrust the sword forward said with embarrassment, “Since everyone was causing a ruckus, I hadn’t had time to aim properly. I just casually threw the sword, and accidentally…..please forgive me Sixth Senior Brother.”

“If this sword were to have hit Miss Miao Miao instead, the damage would definitely been severe.”

“I’m…..sorry.” This senior brother arrived in front of me and gave me a long bow.

I gave him a vicious glare, wanting to take revenge in the future.

Yin Zi had also hurried over and faced Seventh Senior Brother who didn’t know what to say. Yin Zi gave the bunch a scolding instantly causing them all to become silent.

Xiang Qing led me away and walked towards the foot of the mountain, he said, “You don’t need to worry about them too much. This mountain is a bit lonely and more than half of them are still kids, sometimes when they play, it can be a bit too much. In the future, this won’t happen again.”

I halted my steps, grabbed hold of Xiang Qing’s hands, and seriously said, “The next time such things occur, don’t stand in the way to block it. Miao Miao’s head is quite hard, so I’m not afraid to take on a few of them.”

“What nonsense are you speaking?”

“I’m not speaking nonsense.”

“Why are you so nervous about?” Xiang Qing smiled.
