Huo Yao placed her foot on the flower bed with a mild look in her eyes. She did not keep harping on the subject and simply said, "Did something happen to him yesterday?"

The assistant had already flagged a cab. Perhaps owing to Huo Yao’s imposing voice, he did not want to hide things from her. He proceeded to tell her about the incident Huo Tingrui encountered at court yesterday.

It just occurred yesterday and now his boss was taken hostage. There was no concealing the matter considering that things had come so far. After all, Huo Tingrui’s life was at risk.

The assistant could not wrap his mind around it. Huo Yao had called to ask about Huo Tingrui earlier. However, she called him 30 minutes later informing him Huo Tingrui was safe. He found it unfathomable how she managed to pull this off.

Huo Yao touched the plant gently. Since she knew it was impossible to squeeze any more information out of the assistant, she hung up before long.

Huo Yao contemplated briefly standing outside before sending Yang Yi a text message.

Shortly after she had sent the message, she received a call from him. "Miss Huo, is your brother okay?"

Huo Yao said, "Thanks. He’s fine."

Yang Yi heaved a sigh of relief on hearing this. After chatting briefly, he said, "Don’t worry. I will update you with more information in an hour."

"Uh huh. Thanks a lot." Huo Yao nodded.

Before Yang Yi hung up the phone, he remembered something and asked. "Are you okay?"

Huo Yao turned back and headed into the hospital holding the phone. She replied softly. "I’m good."

"Great."

Yang Yi finally hung up the phone.

Yang Yi gave orders to find out what exactly happened at the courts yesterday. Also, he wanted a report on Huo Tingrui’s current case. After giving the orders, he pondered briefly before sending his boss a text message.

For some reason, he had found Miss Huo’s voice to be unusually calm.

The red light was still on outside the emergency room.

Huo Yao walked over unhurriedly and sat down beside Huo Changfeng. She looked at him and said, "Uncle Changfeng, why don’t you go back and rest? I can wait for him to come out."

Huo Changfeng smiled and shook his head. "It’s fine. I will go after he comes out."

Huo Yao did not insist. She leaned her head back and sat quietly, thinking about something.

The red light outside the emergency ward finally went off 20 minutes later.

The doors opened and the nurses came pushing the sickbed out.

Huo Tingrui was dressed in a clean set of a patient’s gown with white bandages on his head. His face was slightly swollen and scratched, but it was unlikely for him to become disfigured.

Huo Yao followed the nurses into the hospital ward. Huo Changfeng asked the doctors about Huo Tingrui’s condition before going in.

It was just as Huo Yao mentioned earlier.

However, some time was needed before the X-ray and blood test were ready.

After hanging an IV, the nurses left the hospital ward.

Since the doctors had given Huo Tingrui anesthesia, he would be out for a while. His assistant showed up in the hospital ward anxiously.

The moment he entered the room, he saw his boss lying on the bed. Just as he was about to check on Huo Tingrui’s condition, he saw Huo Changfeng standing in the room. Since Huo Changfeng had an intimidating aura, he did not dare to speak.

Huo Changfeng did not spend too much time in the hospital ward. After receiving a call, he left the hospital first.

The assistant finally sighed in relief and asked. "Miss Huo, who was that?"

"An elder from the family," explained Huo Yao before inviting the assistant to take a seat.

The assistant nodded.. In his heart, he felt that Huo Changfeng had a terrifying aura.
