Huo Yao’s car arrived at the estate ten minutes later.
Before Huo Yao got to her entrance, she could see a black car in the distance. When she saw the man standing outside, she raised her hand and pressed her forehead.
Things were going to be so awkward now.
Min Yu had already turned to look in her direction when she drove over. Even though there was some distance between them, he could see the driver since there was some light.
She had claimed to be asleep just ten minutes earlier but showed up outside now. Min Yu leaned against the car door lazily with an ambiguous smile on his face.
Huo Yao straightened her hair before gradually driving the car towards the villa entrance.
She killed the engine but did not get off for some time.
Min Yu leaned against his car with his hands in his pockets. He kept looking at Huo Yao through the car window without moving.
It was nearly 11:00 pm. The sky was very dark and the lamps in the estate were some distance away from each other. After she turned off the engine, it went dark inside the car.
Huo Yao could detect him looking at her intently. She touched her nose before finally getting out of the car and walking over unhurriedly. She stopped in front of Min Yu and asked calmly. “You’re back?”
Min Yu raised his brow. “Sleeping?”
Huo Yao finally cleared her throat and said, “It’s my elder’s birthday, so I went out with him.”
Min Yu nodded before he sighed gently. “From the looks of it, I didn’t stand here for nothing.”
After calling her, he had planned on going straight home, but he inexplicably ended up parking here.
Perhaps he had a hunch.
Huo Yao finally noticed his clothes were different from his usual ones and he was clearly exhausted. She paused before she said, “Have an early night. We can talk tomorrow.”
Min Yu looked at her quietly. He acknowledged her softly but did not move. The cold wind gusted in the air and a few small drops of rain fell on his face. The rain felt cold.
Min Yu gazed at the sky. He straightened himself and finally reached his hand out from his pockets. He gently pulled up the hoodie on Huo Yao’s sweater and covered her head with it to block the rain.
Huo Yao was stunned. Her eyes were beautiful and her face looked increasingly petite and exquisite under the hood.
Min Yu’s eyes turned dark. His fingers stopped on the edge of the hood. In an instant, he held her by the back of her head and kissed her neck gently.
After some time, he finally let go of her. The rain was starting to get heavier, so he straightened her hoodie again. “Go on in.”
Huo Yao glanced at him. The emotions in her eyes gradually subsided. She nodded. “Good night.”
She turned around, opened the door, and drove the car into the villa.
Min Yu disregarded the rain falling on him. After she had gone in, he turned and got into the car. He was in a good mood as he drove back to his villa.

The next day at the Apothecaries’ Association.
Chairman Wang’s assistant went over to the Chinese herb storehouse to collect the material on Huo Yao’s list of Chinese herbs.
The deputy chairman and Pei Rong happened to be in the Chinese herb storehouse at the time.
Assistant Wang greeted them politely.
The deputy chairman glanced at the list Assistant Wang had just handed the storeman. He asked quizzically. “Hasn’t the chairman stopped refining pills for a long time?”
Assistant Wang wanted to say the herbs were not for Chairman Wang, but he suddenly recalled the new honorary deputy chairman’s request to keep a low profile and said, “That’s right. Maybe he is busy researching a new prescription.”
The deputy director tapped his fingers on the table. “An ancient prescription?
Everyone in the association knew about Wang’s keen interest in ancient prescriptions.
