Chapter 469: Qilin Grass Spirit

With the formation of the Pharmacist Guild and Jiang Feng preparing a Pharmacy competition for the pharmacists, all the pharmacists that were online all headed toward the Ancient City.

Many of the players that were not pharmacists had also gone to the city, to look at such a grand Pharmacy Competition.

At this time, the Ancient City had become very lively.

“Old Xia, you are a high-level Pharmacist, right? What kind of pill are you going to make?”

“I am going to try and create a new pill. Since Pharmacists that have created new pills could increase in rank without any prerequisites. Even if my ranking is not that high in the competition, the Shifter Emperor has already said that he will reward us handsomely.”

“There are no limits to the ingredients that you can use when you create a new pill, but it consumes too many ingredients. While there are only three chances if I were to create a pill following the official formulae, at least the success rate is much higher and it wouldn’t incur too much losses!”

Many of the pharmacists found a place to stay in the Ancient City, and then groups of them would stay together and analyze the competition.

The rules that Jiang Feng had set for the competition was quite simple.

Pharmacists of any level were allowed to join the competition, but they must create pills of the same level.

There were two ways that they could approach this. The first way was to create new pills. There was no limit to the ingredients that they could use. As long as they could create such pills, they could advance through the rankings in the competition without any other requisites. And they would also be rewarded handsomely.

The second way was to create pills via available formula. Everyone could get three tries. Those that spent the least amount of retries and able to create the most difficult pill would be allowed to increase in rank. Otherwise, they would be removed.

The prizes were also quite good. The champion of each rank could gain 500,000gp as well as a Divine Artifact. The first-runner-up would gain 200,000gp and an Immortal Artifact, while the second-runner-up would gain 100,000gp and an Immortal Artifact.

That was why there were so many Pharmacists joining this competition.

Jiang Feng still did not know that because of his competition, the Ancient City of the Shifter Emperor was filled to the brim with people.

At this time, he was within a mountain range.

When he reached a cliff, he said to himself, “The coordinates stop here. That means that after this wall, I would then reach Lihuo Village!”

With that, he took out Deicide and transformed it into a sword.

With the sword in hand, he cleaved the wall of stone in front of him, and there was a crack on the cliff.

After giving it a few move swings, he managed to cleave open a stone entrance.

After he entered through the stone entrance, a barrier appeared in front of him.

His guess was that the barrier was used to isolate the Starter Village.

Looking at the barrier, he took out the Ruler of Hakai within the Lianyao Flask and cut in front of him. A hole instantly appeared on the barrier, and he immediately teleported through it and entered the barrier.

After he entered the barrier, the barrier was restored and the rock door was also slowly reformed.

After passing through the barrier, he appeared on a mountain in Lihuo Village.

He was quite familiar with the mountains too, as that was where the Fire Qilin was bound in the past.

He once again took out Deicide and jumped into the air as he began to spin in midair, and then rushed toward where the Fire Qilin was originally imprisoned.

After a short while, he then arrived at where the Fire Qilin was first imprisoned.

The Fire Qilin was no longer here, but the fire still kept on burning.

He managed to find the Qilin Grass by the flames.

“Harvest!”

He walked over to the Qilin Grass and immediately used harvest.

Ding. System Prompt. Harvest failed. Proficiency +100.

“Looks like Divine Level harvest is not good enough,” he mumbled to himself and took out the reward from the system, the “Craft-Profession Proficiency Scroll.” He was going to use it to upgrade his Harvest level.

The proficiency that the scroll gave was very high. It immediately increased the proficiency of his Harvest skill to the next level and there were extras as well.

Ding. System Prompt. Congratulations, you have gained the Archmaster Level Harvest skill!

With his Harvest skill having reached Archmaster level, he once again used Harvest on the Qilin Grass.

Ding. System Prompt. Harvest failed. Proficiency +100.

He did not give up. With the Ruler of Hakai in his hand, he used the Harvest skill continuously.

The Archmaster level Harvest skill could be used to harvest Sacred Level herbs, but the failure rate was a bit too high.

He did not mind the failure rate, however, as he had the time. All he needed to do was to harvest it slowly.

Ding. System Prompt: Harvest Successful. Congratulations, you have gained one Qilin Grass. Proficiency +50,000.

“I did it. Let’s see if there are other Qillin Grass!” Jiang Feng mumbled and began looking nearby.

Very quickly, he saw one more in a lava pool. He quickly went over to harvest it happily.

After he had gotten that, he continued to look for more.

Since the space underneath the mountain was quite huge, there were still plenty of lava and caves in this place other than the area where the Fire Qilin was trapped in.

It was impossible for there to only be two or three Qilin Grass since the Fire Qilin had been imprisoned here for so long. There must be more. He just had not found them yet.

One hour passed by and he had found a total of 23 Qilin Grass.

Whoosh!

Just as he was going to continue to search for more, he saw a red light flash through in a distance.

“Hm? Did some other monsters migrate here after the Fire Qilin’s death?”

The red light flashed through so fast that Jiang Feng did not notice what kind of monster that was. He thought to himself in suspicion, and then he quickly used his Sacred Stealth skill to become invisible, waiting for that monster to appear once more.

Perhaps it noticed that Jiang Feng had suddenly disappeared. The monster once again reappeared.

Then he saw not far from where he was that it was a small humanoid the size of his palm with green leaves on it. There was a Qilin Grass* on its head that was shooting out flames.

T/L note: Raw said it’s Qilin Horn. But it should be a Qilin Grass since it’s a spirit of a Qilin Grass.

Qillin Grass Spirit: Great Saint Level Herb

Introduction: A Spirit that was created from a Qilin Grass. It can manipulate flames and can be created into pills once transmuted.

‘Shoot! A Great Saint level Qilin Grass! And it has even given birth to a spirit! If I can use it to create the Providence Pill, its effect would be much stronger!’ With that thought in mind, Jiang Feng approached the Qilin Grass Spirit bit by bit.

There were many Great Saint herbs in this world. But for an herb to be able to give birth to a spirit, quality-wise it must be better than other normal herbs of its kind by at least one level. Just like pills.

Screech!

It was as if the Qilin Grass had noticed Jiang Feng’s existence, it quickly headed toward the lava and dived into it.

“You want to run away?”

Jiang Feng did not expect that the Qilin Grass Spirit could sense his existence. He was surprised, but that did not stop him from chasing after the Qilin Grass Spirit as he jumped into the lava pool.

When the Qilin Grass Spirit saw Jiang Feng, it kept controlling the nearby lava and used them to attack him as if he was shocked.

Unfortunately, it did not know that Jiang Feng was also a manipulator of fire, and he was not afraid of flames as well.

Jiang Feng and the Qilin Grass Spirit quickly zoomed through the lava as one tried to escape and another tried to chase it down.

After chasing it for a few dozen minutes, the Qilin Grass Spirit that was in front of him suddenly disappeared, and he began to get suspicious as he thought to himself, ‘Huh? Where did it go?’
