Monster Paradise Chapter 34

The girl walked up to them, lifted her head and addressed the yeti, “Thanks, Little Ice.”

“You’re too kind, protecting you is a part of my duty.” The yeti replied with barely contained excitement.

“We’ll continue chatting later. Let’s attend to our guest first.” The girl nodded and turned to Lin Huang.

“Greetings fated person.”

“Hello…”

The girl’s graceful features captivated his gaze. It was as if she was an immortal who had just walked out of a painting. Her beauty left him stunned as he barely stammered out a greeting.

“My original name was Xue Ling Er but Xue Ling Er is dead so addressing me as such is no longer appropriate. Fated person, you may call me Xue Luo.”

“By the way, My name is Ice King.” The yeti finally remembered that he hadn’t introduced himself.

“I’m Lin Huang.” Lin Huang introduced himself as well.

“Mister Lin Huang, thank you for changing my fate. If it wasn’t for you, I would have never been able to revive myself.” Xue Luo bowed slightly. As she bowed, her gaze locked onto Lin Huang’s abdomen. “Your Life Wheel seems to be damaged?”

“Yes, I was born with a cracked Life Wheel and Prana Consumption Rate 10 times as high as a normal person.” Lin Huang unreservedly revealed.

“Can I look at it?” Xue Luo continued with her inquiries.

Lin Huang was slightly taken aback by this but nodded his head in the end.

Xue Luo took a few steps forward until she was a meter away from Lin Huang. Reaching out with her hand, she pressed down on his abdomen.

An icy sensation circulated in his Life Wheel as she did so. He inspected his Life Wheel. His eyes grew to the size of saucers as he saw the cracks in his Life Wheel began to mend themselves. In a few seconds, the cracks were gone, revealing a perfectly formed Life Wheel. Even his Prana Consumption Rate had dropped to the level of a normal person. Seeing that her work was done, Xue Luo retracted her arm.

“This…” He couldn’t believe the problem that had plagued him for so long was resolved so quickly. “Please accept my gratitude, Miss Xue Luo!”

“It’s a small matter, even without me, you would have found a way to fix it sooner or later. I should be the one thanking you.” Xue Luo faintly smiled back at him.

“Little Ice, go prepare some tea. I want to have a chat with Mister Lin Huang.” Xue Luo raised her head as she addressed Ice King.

“Sure!” Ice King beamed with pleasure as he turned around and left.

Seeing Ice King leave, she turned back to Lin Huang, “Let’s head to the Snow Cottage.”

The pair admired the scenery along the lakeside as they strolled towards small bamboo cottage.

The atmosphere within the cottage was surprisingly serene.

They sat around a small bamboo table facing each other. In the center was a small bamboo tea set. As they sat there, the earthy herbal aroma of the freshly grown flora wafted into the room .

“I designed this cottage and Little Ice built it according to my blueprints. How is it?” Xue Luo commented as she noticed Lin Huang’s reaction to the house.

“It’s nice, really clean and serene. With an entire gorge as its courtyard, it’s pretty impressive.” Lin Huang smiled back at her.

Noticing the light teasing within his response, she smiled back, “ I  never knew Mister Lin Huang was such a humorous person.”

Lin Huang had to admit, being called humorous was surprising and very pleasant.

Before long, Ice King brought a tray of teaware. An invisible force supported the tray as it levitated into the room. It slowly descended, landing softly in the middle of the bamboo table.

With the entire tea set prepared, Xue Luo started brewing the tea. She carefully placed the dried tea leaves into the clay teapot and poured the hot water prepared by Little Ice into it. She covered the pot and let the tea steep. Lin Huang quietly observed her as she did this.

He had seen a tea ceremony before on Earth and did not take too well to it. However, seeing Xue Luo gracefully brewing the tea, he felt a sense of beauty from it.

Each movement was extremely precise and graceful containing a certain hypnotic quality within. As the strange sensation filled Lin Huang, he slowly entered a meditative state.

Even the system messages sent by Kuro were completely ignored.

This state lasted till Xue Luo finished brewing the tea and served it to Lin Huang. Finally coming to his senses, he noticed Kuro’s messages.

[You have attained Epic Rank 《Grand Desolation Blade Scripture》 fragments x700. Do you wish to merge them into the 《Grand Desolation Blade Scripture》 Beginner Script to form the complete Epic Rank 《Grand Desolation Blade Scripture》?]

Lin Huang did not expect such a bountiful haul from witnessing a tea ceremony. He gained a massive amount of fragments was thus able to form the complete scripture.

Lin Huang immediately agreed to merging the fragments.

A short while later, Kuro’s message window appeared once more.

[Merging completed. Congratulations Master, you have attained Epic Rank Skill Card ----- 《Grand Desolation Blade Scripture》.]

Lin Huang peered into his Life Wheel and inspected the card.

Grand Desolation Blade Scripture’s card had changed into a Blue Crystal card. The front was the same as before but the back had undergone some changes.

Having finished his inspection, he picked up the tiny earthen teacup and drank from it.

“It’s been awhile since I last brewed tea. My skill is kind of rusty.” She laughed, ignoring the obvious changes in Lin Huang.

“Miss Xue Luo, your tea brewing can only be described as godlike. I’ve benefited greatly from it.” Just watching her brew some tea made him gain a bunch of skill fragments, one can only imagine how strong this girl was.

Xue Luo smiled but did not respond. Seeing the empty teacup in Lin Huang’s hand, she poured him another cup of tea.

“This gorge is made from your dimensional techniques?” Lin Huang asked.

“Yes, it was just a minor technique.” She nodded in response.

Lin Huang had a number of questions regarding the Deity race but felt it was inappropriate as it might dig up some of her scars, so he decided to keep quiet.

Noticing Lin Huang’s hesitation, she questioned him, “ Mister, if you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them.”

“I’ve heard that Miss Xue Luo is a member of the Deity race, according to the history books, 800 years ago, the monster that opened up 3,000 Void’s Eye was rumored to be a Deity as well. Can you give me the details on that guy?” Lin Huang had a lot of questions regarding the events from 800 years ago.

“While he can be considered strong, he isn’t a member of the Deity race. He was only given a small portion of the divine powers of a Deity.” She explained with a hint of disdain within her voice.

“Deities, are the real descendants of the gods. Divine blood flows in their veins and they possess a perfect human form from birth. That monster who called himself a Deity did not possess such a form.”

“As for questions regarding the Deity race itself, I’m afraid I can’t answer those questions. You can try asking other questions and I’ll do my best to answer them.”

Lin Huang continued asking questions about that event while Xue Luo answered each of them in detail.

After clarifying all doubts, he fell silent and pondered on the recent revelations.

Xue Luo momentarily fell silent as well before speaking up,” Mister Lin Huang, once you leave this gorge, I recommend leaving this area quickly as you might get ambushed by monsters.”

“ I noticed that as well. Recently, the surrounding monsters seem to have gotten unusually aggressive. Is there any special reason for this?”

“I just noticed a monster ascending into the Transcendent realm. It seems to possess a bewitching skill that compelled the surrounding monsters to hunt for it.” Xue Luo explained.

“So that’s why. It should be okay, once I cross this mountain, I’ll be at my destination.” Despite this revelation, Lin Huang heaved a sigh of relief.

“We will leave this area after you and return to our world.” Xue Luo pondered a while before saying this.

Ice King was pleasantly surprised at this declaration, “There’s no point staying in Mankind’s world after all.”

Lin Huang was saddened by this news. It was likely they would never meet again.

“As a farewell gift, I’ll perform a dance.” She finished her tea as she said and turned towards Lin Huang.

Lin Huang nodded in acknowledgement.

“Please follow me.” With a wave of her sleeves, Lin Huang and Little Ice took to the air.

The pair landed softly on the lakeside while she flew to the center of the lake.

With the moonlight shining at her back, she looked like an immortal descending onto the mortal realm as her white dress fluttered in the air as she lightly landed on the lake surface with barely a ripple made.

The lake started snowing as she began her dance. A thin layer of ice formed at her feet as she skated around the lake. The snowy winds followed her every movement as they wrapped around her arms and shoulders forming an snowy scarf that fluttered in the air. With every wave of her arms, her snow scarf mixed into the silvery moonlight forming a dazzling performance of snow and light. It was as if she was a snow goddess.

“Perhaps this was the origin of the name, Goddess Ridge…” Lin Huang quietly gasped as he took in the heavenly sight before him.

This dance conveyed the multitude of emotions she experienced in her life here, love, hate, joy, anger, apathy and a hint of loneliness…

Lin Huang was silent for a long time as Xue Luo walked towards him. The sorrowful look about her made her seem not like an almighty Deity, but more like a normal human girl. His inner thoughts escaped his lips as he said “I believe that one day, you will find the happiness that belongs to you.”

“Thank you.” She replied after a momentary pause, a smile on her face and her previously dull eyes brightened.

By the time he left the gorge it was the dead of night.

He recalled Shirou and summoned the guard ogre before crawling into his tent.
