She had her head slightly raised, and looked at Gu Chaoyan with pride. In the meanwhile, she made a slight move towards Lord Ling.
Lord Ling, on the other hand, seemed quite patient.
When Gu Ruxue and Liu Hanxiang were showing off in front of her, he did not even show any impatience or disdain. Instead, he was wearing a small smile, which made him look like a very friendly man.
“Who is this?” Lord Ling asked politely.
“Lord, this is my sister. She is divorced and made efforts to make it into Saint College. If you have any nice man, you can arrange a suitor for my sister. She is not living an easy life, you know.” Gu Ruxue said with a regretful tone. She seemed rather concerned about Gu Chaoyan.
Lord Ling turned to Gu Chaoyan. The brief smile on his face stiffened. He had looked into the Elder Miss of the Gu Family before. The report said that she was tanned, chubby and ugly, and that she even had a terrible morality so she got divorced by Duke Changning’s Mansion. Therefore, he did not think that a woman like that would be the Phoenix Girl.
The only girl who was capable of being the Phoenix Girl, should be Gu Ruxue, the daughter of the present Mrs. Gu. Therefore, he was going to offer the last position of Princess Concubine to Gu Ruxue and give her what the other concubines could not possibly get, but now… As the real lineal lady of the Gu Family stood right in front of his face… He got a bit messy in his head.
It seemed that she was not the same as the report said. Dressed in a long blouse, she looked thin and calm. Apart from the conspicuous red mark on her face, everything else was perfect about her. And she even showed great composure as she heard his identity.
For one moment, Lord Ling was not in his right state. He even started to suspect the real identity of the so-called Phoenix Girl.
Destiny Monk said that Phoenix Girl’s reincarnation was born at the Gu Mansion, but he did not mention which one of the ladies of the Gu Mansion it was.
Gu Chaoyan and Li Yuanxiang stayed in the greeting posture for a long while, yet still failed to hear Lord Ling’s response. Gu Chaoyan frowned slightly, thinking that Lord Ling was helping Gu Ruxue to embarrass her too. So she cooled down her tone and repeated. “Greetings, Lord Ling.”
Hearing the highly-raised voice, Lord Ling was brought back to reality. And his eyes became clearer than before.
He moved his hand. “Just get up, please.”
Then he looked at the way Gu Chaoyan was heading, and asked in confusion. “Elder Miss, which department are you in? Why are you heading in this way?”
He was quite familiar with Saint College. And Gu Chaoyan was not heading towards any department.
Gu Chaoyan’s face twisted. What did this Lord Ling mean by asking them that? She was not heading towards any department, she was just visiting Qing Niang so that she could arrange a nice place for them to live, but she could not possibly tell him that.
She thought for a while and said, “Medical Department. However, we are not familiar with Saint College, so we are just strolling around.”
Not familiar with the school?
Lord Ling thought that it was time to save his own face, so he said, “I know where it is, let me lead you there.”
Gu Chaoyan had a very complicated look on her face.
What was wrong with Lord Ling? Was there something wrong with his mind? Gu Chaoyan thought of Zhou Huaiyu’s face and knew one thing – no wonder they were born by the same mother!
