It was already the middle of winter, but Su Yu only wore a simple white cotton coat . On first glance, it looked very similar to Huo Mian's coat, as if they were wearing couples' jackets .

Huo Mian and Su Yu didn't contact each other after the party . Huo Mian simply thought the next time she would possibly see Su Yu again would be at Xiaowei's wedding . Little did she know that they would meet again so soon .

The woman that walked in with Su Yu looked about twenty-five or six . She was about 170 cm tall, wore a white mink coat, and had an elegant complexion .

As the two of them walked in, Huo Yanyan was just on her way out . The woman went straight to the fitting room after grabbing a couple of pieces of clothing . Back in the day, Huo Yanyan would have immediately swarmed up to Su Yu . But now, after all that she had been through and the lessons of life she learned, she knew better .  

If Su Yu never glanced at her back then, when she was on the top of the world, he would never glance at her now . She down-casted her eyes and walked away quickly .

However, if anyone was to ask Su Yu, he had never taken an interest in people who didn't matter to him . He had seen Huo Yanyan a couple of times, but never once did he remember what she looked like . As they brushed past each other, Su Yu didn't even recognize her . He did, however, notice Huo Mian from afar .

She was also wearing a white cotton coat and speaking happily with Jiang Xiaowei .

As he watched a smile appear on Huo Mian's face, he felt his heart melt a little .

He wondered if he was lovesick . . .

Not long ago, he would have walked over to Huo Mian excitedly and asked her if there was something wrong with her that she didn't like him back .

But now, things were a little different .

Ever since he witnessed Huo Mian's love for Qin Chu and her willingness to die for him, he had lost all confidence . However, despite the loss in confidence, his feelings for her never changed .

It only got buried deeper .



Su Yu smiled and waved . "Hey guys, I wasn't expecting to see you guys here . "

"Su Yu, what's going on? Who's that woman?" Jiang Xiaowei asked . For the amount of time that she spent with Wei Liao, she would hear everything first-hand if something was going on with Su Yu . But Wei Liao had never mentioned anything about a woman .

"She's… someone that my family is set me up with," Su Yu dropped his eyes to the floor and said awkwardly . He was afraid to look into Huo Mian's eyes, scared that she would look at him with disdain and contempt .

But in fact, Huo Mian had no expectations for Su Yu whatsoever . She wouldn't freely comment on Su Yu purely on who he was with .

However, Jiang Xiaowei looked at him with surprise .

"Really? Why would you do that? That's so lame!" Jiang Xiaowei questioned .



"I had no choice . It was up to my grandpa," Su Yu continued awkwardly . He felt uncomfortable admitting to Huo Mian that he was on an arranged date .


"Oh… is it because of last time…?"

"No, it's nothing . You guys have fun, I'm going to check up on her," Su Yu interrupted Jiang Xiaowei before she could finish . Then, he turned and walked away, as if he was running in defeat .

"Hey! Don't be late for the wedding! You're Wei Liao's best man," Jiang Xiaowei called out after him .

"Yes, yes, I'll be on time . " Su Yu waved his hand without looking back .

After Su Yu went to the other end of the store, Huo Mian asked, "Xiaowei, does Su Yu being set up for a date have anything to do with me?"
 


"Why would you think that?" Jiang Xiaowei asked carefully, surprised by Huo Mian's sharp observations .

"Because he ran off before you even finished . I'm wondering if he's running away," Huo Mian guessed .
 
"Then it's because he doesn't want you to know . Maybe you should stop asking . " Jiang Xiaowei gathered up the clothes that she was trying on and walked towards the cash register .

"I'll take these . "

"Okay . " The sales associate nodded immediately .

"But I want to know, can you tell me? Xiaowei, I don't want to owe Su Yu anything anymore… you know?" Huo Mian said slowly as sadness crept in her voice .

"Why not?" Jiang Xiaowei looked at Huo Mian, her eyes glimmering .
