Liu Ze smiled. “The best thing about me is that I have a superb memory. When I was studying at Second High School, I often saw you eating at Ah-Xin’s Ramen. You went so often that it left an impression on me.”

“Yeah, Ah-Xin’s Ramen is tasty and cheap, so I really liked it back then.” Huo Mian nodded.

“Mhm, that’s why I ordered takeout from this place.”

“Not really.”

“Okay then, I guess I would like you to go easy on me. After all, I’m a new doctor here.”

“You’re funny, Dr. Liu. You’re a medical superstar who was educated abroad, it’s an honor that our hospital was able to get you. Plus, even Director Wu’s said so many great things about you, so why would you need me to go easy on you?”

Liu Ze smiled, and he only replied with one word, “Sure.”

He knew Huo Mian did that because she didn’t trust him. That was why she decided to switch last minute. This woman’s guard was up so high that no one could climb over it.

For some reason, the ramen wasn’t very good. Although the taste was the same, the feeling was very different.

Once they finished eating, Huo Mian changed out of her hospital clothes and left South Side. Liu Ze didn’t say much; he knew that getting Huo Mian to trust him wasn’t a simple task, and he needed to take it slow.

Huo Mian had left in her white Porsche, but the black Mercedes was still parked outside. It looked mysterious under the dim glow of the moon.

“Boss, Miss Huo has been leaving early and working late. So has Qin Chu. They… don’t seem as happy as they used to be.”

“Ha, this is just the beginning, there’s more to come. What’s the rush?” Huo Siqian muttered as he played with the lighter in his hand.

“Let’s go. Tonight’s a good night, we should drink to celebrate.” Then, the Mercedes slowly drove off into the night.

Qin Chu received another video from that mysterious number; there was no sound, just the visuals. It was a video of Huo Mian eating ramen with Liu Ze. He could see the words ‘Ah-Xin’s Ramen’ on the takeout bag.

Qin Chu quietly watched the video without saying a word.
