“Where are you?”

“I… just got out from my home.”

“Where are you now? I’ll go and pick you up.”

Hearing the hesitation in her tone, Shen Mingxi insisted on knowing her location.

After a moment of consideration, Wei Ying told him.

Shen Mingxi drove his race car to pick up Wei Ying who was staying in the black Audi Q7 driven by the Qin Family’s chauffeur sent by Pudding.

Wei Ying got out of the car and thanked the chauffeur. She had never imagined that she’d one day need two three-year-olds to rescue her; after all, the combined age of Pudding and Yunchu was less than 7 years.

“Thank little Pudding for me. I’ll treat her to desserts,” she told the Qin Family’s chauffeur.

“Okay, I’ll tell Miss Pudding. Miss Wei, take care.”

After the chauffeur drove away, Shen Mingxi grabbed Wei Ying’s hand and ushered her into his racecar.

“What happened? Ying, why are you out here so late at night?”

Having not seen Wei Ying for a few days, Shen Mingxi was a bit emotional.

While her nephew drew away the bodyguards in the house, Wei Ying had escaped dressed only in a while short-sleeved T-shirt and a black Burberry classic style windbreaker.

“It’s embarrassing…” Wei Ying bit on her lip and then told him the whole thing.

Shen Mingxi blamed himself. “It’s my fault. Uncle got so angry because of me and you have to take the consequences.”

“No, it’s not your fault. The whole thing was caused by that bastard Ye Zhaoyang. I’ll deal with him when he’s out of hospital.” Wei Ying was furious with Ye Zhaoyang.

Then her stomach growled, which was very distinct in the quiet night.

Wei Ying lowered her head and blushed in embarrassment.

“I remember you love shrimp dumplings. There’s a Hong Kong tea restaurant nearby that’s open 24/7. Let’s go and grab a bite.”

Without waiting for her reply, Shen Mingxi started his car.

After the night meal, he brought her back to his house which he had bought after breaking up with Huo Yanyan.

Considering Huo Yanyan might come here to harass them, he stationed several bodyguards around the house, so no one could enter it without permission.

When they reached the house, it was 3:30 in the early morning.

“It’s almost dawn. You must be fatigued. Go get some sleep. I’ve had the sheets in the main bedroom changed. You can sleep in there.” Shen Mingxi gave her his big bedroom.

“Mingxi, how about you?”

“I’ll sleep in the guest bedroom.”

“I can sleep in the guest bedroom…” Wei Ying was embarrassed.

“No. Go to bed now. I’ll go to the company in a few hours anyway.”

So, Wei Ying stayed the night in Shen Mingxi’s house. She was worried that her little nephew would be scolded severely by her dad when they found she was missing in the morning.

On the next morning, Wei Ying got up early and helped the housemaid cook congee in the kitchen.

When the breakfast was ready, Tiantian walked into the kitchen; seeing Wei Ying, she was surprised at first.

Then she smiled and walked over to greet Wei Ying, “Aunt Wei Ying, nice to see you.”

Shen Mingxi was astonished to see her act so nicely; he had thought Tiantian would be hostile toward Wei Ying.

Wei Ying nodded at her.

“Tiantian, Aunt Wei Ying will stay here for a few days.”

“Really? That’s great. I was feeling bored staying home by myself.” Tiantian looked happy.
