Su Yu woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep again.
Usually, he didn’t have any problems with his sleep, but he had had three nightmares recently.
Huo Mian was in each of them.
If it was in the daytime, he’d have called Huo Mian immediately.
But since it was before dawn, he couldn’t do it.
He got up, went downstairs and took out a can of iced Coke from the fridge.
Turning on the TV, he sat on the sofa and sipped the Coke.
An was a light sleeper and immediately came out of his room on the first floor when he heard his boss was up, thinking something had happened.
“President Su, are you okay?”
“I’m fine. I just had a nightmare.”
“Huh? Did you dream of ghosts?” Hearing An’s words, Su Yu almost spewed out the Coke.
“I think you look like a ghost.” Su Yu was exasperated.
“Tell me what you dreamed. My grandma used to tell me that we can’t tell others if we have a good dream, otherwise the good thing in your dream won’t happen; but if we have a bad dream, we must tell others so the bad thing in your dream won’t happen.”
“Indeed?” Su Yu looked at An doubtfully.
“Old traditions are sometimes superstitious, but many people still believe them. If you believe me, just tell me what you dreamed.”
At An’s coaxing, Su Yu began to recall the details of his nightmares.
In each dream, the scenes were the same and a bit vague…
“In the dream, Mian and I were in a big forest and some people chased after us and tried to… kill us. Then we were both wounded. Mian lay on the ground covered in blood, yelling for me to leave her… Then…”
Su Yu couldn’t continue; it felt so vivid in the dream.
He didn’t want to speak out loud the bad things happening to Huo Mian.
But An could guess the rest, seeing the scared expression on Su Yu’s face.
“So you dreamed that you and President Huo went to play PUBG?”
“PUBG?” Su Yu looked puzzled.
“A popular combat game.”
Su Yu: “…”
“Forget it. President Su, don’t dwell on it. The scenario won’t happen. I think you’re overwhelmed with stuff lately and the dream is the result of the great pressure you feel. Or you placed your hand on your chest while you slept. Just think. President Huo is about to have the baby. She isn’t even working; why would she go to a big forest? Besides, who’d dare to hunt down you and President Huo?”
“Yeah. I, too, don’t think it’s possible. It’s just the dream felt so real and it gave me a bad feeling after I woke up.”
Su Yu gulped down a big mouthful of Coke.
“They are just dreams and you can’t take them seriously. You’d better get some sleep. Tomorrow Han Yueyao will enter the second round of the dancing show.”
“Yeah. I wonder if that damned girl is ready for it or not.”
If An didn’t mention it, Su Yu would have totally forgotten about it.
During the day, he worked in the company and after work, he went to persuade Wei Liao; meanwhile, he was busy with the procedure to get Xiaoxiao into the Northwest military legion.
Buried in work, he had forgotten about Han Yueyao’s second round in the live show.
They hadn’t seen each other in the company, either.
Meanwhile in a foreign country.
Jack knelt on the ground while the masked woman tossed a pink pill onto the floor.
She ordered him contemptuously, “Swallow it.”
“Young Madam…”
