Alright, the talk about the promotion has ended for now.
Although A-Rank was impossible, I was able to get to B-Rank quite easily.
With this, I can receive high difficulty requests from the guild. Well, im not going to go for it just yet.
First, i'm going to raise my level appropriately before going for a request. Since I don’t know what there could be because this is a different world. I will take it slowly and safely.
Now, the rank request. Well, the Ripper seems to be active during the night because most of the cases have happend during this time.
The problem is that the Ripper Demon, is Bakiru.
Is Bakiru strong enough to defeat me or not? Well, he might be bad, but he is on the same level as Grace.
If I am not careless, then it won't be a problem.
Well, there is quite a lot of time before its night. For now, shall I go back to the hall and look at the request board?
And so, I headed toward the hall.
When I got back to the hall, the excited Grace-san came over,
“Oi! Yuma, you’re back. How was it? Did that ossan do anything?”
“He did. The second I went into the room, he threw a fist at me.”
I would have definitely fought back if it was a little bit more.
Bu~t, I felt pleased since I won the fight with that battle maniac even without fighting him…..
When I said that, Grace-san started to laugh wryly,
“Ha~a, that man doesn’t change even after so many years.”
Grace-san seems to have been both a little shocked and a little happy for some reason.
“What rank was Yuma’s increased to?!”
When Grace-san asked me this question, all the surrounding adventurers turned toward me. I seem to have attracted quite a lot of attention.
“My rank has been upgraded to B.”
When I said that, suddenly, the whole hall got excited and screamed out.
“““OH OH OH OH OH!!!”””
“AWESOMEEE. Head Hunter has reached B-Rank already!”
“Ah, In the guild, no, in all of the guilds up until now, this is the first time I’ve heard of someone reaching B-Rank in just three days!”
“Probably! If he keeps this up then S-Rank, no, even SS-rank is not that far for him!?”
“Oi oi! There hasn’t been an SS-rank guy in quite a few years. It might be an absurd thing even for Head Hunter, right?”
Isn’t everyone a little bit too excited?
While I was thinking that, Grace-san,
“Whats wrong, Yuma?”
“Its nothing, I was just thinking that they were exaggerating a little too much.”
“Not really, this is not really being exaggerated. In fact, adventurers of B-Rank amount to only a few percent of the total. And, you reached B-Rank in three days time! I don’t think them exaggerating this is strange at all!”
I see. There were already only a few B-Rank adventurers.
Then, I guess I can understand what all the fuss is about.
“I see, I understand now.”
Ah, so Bakiru was in the guild previously right?
Then, that means that Grace-san might likely know about him, I could get information from asking about him.
“Grace-san, I have a question, Do you perhaps know of a person called Bakiru who was a former guild member?”
When I asked that question, the guild which was noisy up until now, became deathly silent.
“Yuma? You probably got a request from the ossan about the Ripper Demon, so you must already know that it is about Bakiru, huh?”
The Grace-san who was making an excited face suddenly turned serious in an instant. As I thought, you know about Bakiru huh.
“I did, I just received the Promotion Request!”
“I see, If I had a weapon then I could have caught him myself but, you must make sure to be careful Yuma. That guy is someone who would do absolutely anything to make sure that his goals are achieved.”
I see, I was wondering what kind of a personality he had since he was named the Ripper Demon but now, I guess I don’t have to hold back at all.
“Understood. I shall not be careless, I will excersie my full power.”
“Then I can feel relieved!”
Grace-san seems to be relieved that I said that.
Now, that’s a request though.
“Then Grace-san, there is still a lot of time until the night when he will appear, even though its early, I shall take my leave.”
Before the fight with Bakiru, shall I go raise my level, even if its just a little?
And also, there is still that weapon that I have yet to test out...
“Oh, lets go for it.”
Alright then, which request should I pick?
And so, I moved to front of the request board. The board i'm looking at is the one for C-Rank's.
Of course, there are quite a few people already here.
Now, oh, Orc suppression is there again.
If its Orc suppression, then its just the right thing for my Test!
Then, let's do this one, I guess. I bring the Orc suppression request to Meru-san.
“Thank you for the help, Meru-san. I shall take this request for today.”
“Yes, Orc suppression, right. Yes, it has been confirmed. Yuma, this may be unnecessary, but I shall tell you this; please make sure to be careful, and also, this is your B-Rank Adventurer Card.”
I recived the B-Rank card from Meru-san.
“Thank you very much. Then, I will be off.”
And so, I left the guild and then the town gates and kept moved forward.
Now then, this Orc suppression is at the same location as the previous one.
There is no problems about the direction. Therefore, Run!
I ran at full speed from the gate! The gatekeepers were astonished, but it doesn’t seem to be a problem.
Since I ran with my full power, I was able to arrive at the location in a matter of a few minutes.
“Ive already reached it. As usual, the power of my body is definitely strange.”
All the previous records in my previous world would have been completely broken. I rather feel like i'm on the same level as the existence of a monster……
“Now, lets quickly search for an Orc and start the experiment.”
The new weapon, Demon Ripper, I feel excited since I will be able to use it.
I enter the Orc forest to search for them quickly. Just for this experiment, I hope there is even an Orc King because that would help me greatly. We~ll, I dont think it's possible though.
After I started searching for a few minutes, I was able to find an Orc quickly.
“Oh, isn’t this a good omen!”
Alright, let's quickly take it out.
Firstly, I take out the Demon Ripper from the Item Box.
As usual, it looks terrifying. Then, I prepare to activate Sign Isolation.
“Let's go!”
And so, I proceed to make my way toward the back of the Orc while quickly stabbing it in the neck!
“DIE!
And then, the Orcs head separates from its body as if there was no resistance at all, like a hot knife through butter. There wasn’t even time for it cry out its usual death cry.
“This guy…is way sharper than I expected.”
Honestly, I didn’t put in much effort into it at all.
And this was the result. If I put in all my strength, then maybe, I can cut the body up into two halves easily.
Now then, let's take down a few more.
And then, after a while, I was able to take down three of them.
“Fumu, as I thought, if I use Sign Isolation along with Demon Ripper, it takes quite a lot of MP.Then, I guess it's better to quickly level up and increase my MP. ”
Right now, I can see an Orc in front of me. For this last one, shall we try to take this one down using Magic Imbue? Since I don’t know how much magic it will cost, let's first take an MP potion and fill it up. Alright, this is final experiment.
“Lets go.”
I proceed to make my way to the back of the Orc since he still hasn’t noticed me yet.
I send magic power into the Demon Ripper, and the Demon Ripper seems to have extended, even if it was just a little.
Now!
Magic Imbued Demon Ripper with full force was slashed toward the neck!
And so,
“Is this…….real......?”
The neck of the Orc was cut cleanly.
But, that wasn’t the end. Somehow, three tress behind the Orc were cut down in the same way as the Orc’s neck.
I was really shocked at the sharpness of the knife,
“Guu~, what is this…I feel dizzy all of a sudden.”
Suddenly, my vision got blurred and dizziness struck.
Don’t tell me! And so, I check my Status and notice that my MP has only a little bit remaining.
“First,……… I can’t lose consciousness in the middle of the forest.”
With my consciousness blurring, I managed to somehow take out an MP potion from the Item Box and safely consume it, which lets me successfully recover.
“Haa haaa, thank god that I bought the potions during the time I took the Cockatrice request.”
Slowly, my consciousness began to return to normal.
“Fuu, still, that one attack with Magic Imbued Demon Ripper. It was definitely a deadly attack. But still, just because of that one attack, my MP was almost at it's limit, and with a single use it caused me to be unable to fight for a while.”
This is, I have to definitely raise my level as quickly as possible.
Hmmm, I still have time before it turns night.
“Alright, until then, I guess i'm going to keep hunting Orcs for a while.”
I kept hunting there for quite a few more hours.
