Chapter 9: Soul Contract, Capturing the Evolving Fox

“This little fox couldn’t have evolved could it?” Chu Mu held the little fox in front of him and observed carefully.

“Even if it did evolve, it should only evolve from the Red Cloud Fox to the Blue Star Fox, how did it suddenly evolve into the Moonlight Fox? Unless this little guy evolved not just once, but twice.”

Chu Mu continued to mutter to himself, but as he rambled, his voice became softer and softer.

He was only rambling randomly, and did not seriously believe that there is soul pet which can evolve multiple times. After all, evolving is a very rare occurrence, and multiple evolution……it means a super soul pet which can increase its grade endlessly!

However, as he rambled, Chu Mu realised a very important detail. The Red Cloud Fox and Blue Star Fox he encountered before have the same silver crescent mark on their forehead!!

“I’ve read about evolution in the books, the evolved soul pet will inherit its original marking somewhere on its body.”

Chu Mu’s expression changed, from relaxed to serious, and gradually to shock!

“Evo……evo……evolved soul pet, and it’s……multiple evolution!! A soul pet who can evolve multiple times!!!!”

Chu Mu remembered the first time he encountered the Red Cloud Fox, its tail was injured. To confirm his guess, Chu Mu hastily grabbed the little fox tail, and spread its fur.

A shallow scar!! Chu Mu froze, staring unbelievably at the scar which appeared on the same spot.

“Multiple evolution soul pet…..it really is a multiple evolution soul pet…..I’m not dreaming am I……”

In this moment, Chu Mu’s heart pumped heavily, and he could feel a wave of heat sweeping through his body!!!!

For the majority of soul pets, being able to evolve once is already a luxury. And yet Chu Mu, in his luck, encountered a priceless soul pet which can evolve multiple times!!!!

A soul pet which can continuously evolve, possesses limitless potential, and limitless room for growth!

The Thorn Demon is low grade, with the weakest potential. The Mandy Monster is medium grade, with a little more potential than the Thorn Demon.

The Blue Bird is high grade, its potential even higher than the Mandy Monster!

If one has the Mandy Monster, there is hope in attaining top ten. If one obtained the Blue Bird, he can definitely defeat all his rivals, all because the Blue Bird is a high grade soul pet.

However, this Moonlight Fox Chu Mu has obtained, has evolved from low to medium grade. If it continues to evolve to high grade, it will possess the same potential as the Blue Bird, and Chu Mu can definitely obtain first place!

Not only that, if it continues to evolve, and evolves past high grade, Chu Mu can even take on the enforcers in the future!

Chu Mu laughed. It has been a long time since he laughed heartily like this!!

Chu Mu wiped the corners of his eyes, and after a long time, he gradually calmed down.

He knows that now is not the time to celebrate. Even if he has a soul pet which can evolve multiple times, he needs to raise it step by step, allowing it to grow strong.

And the first step, is to seal a contract with this soul pet.

Chu Mu looked the small fox in the eye, and noticed that even though the little guy has been completely restricted by the white silk, it was still thinking of ways to break free. From the little Moonlight Fox eyes, Chu Mu saw its tenacity and determination!

No matter how the Moonlight Fox feels, Chu Mu must definitely obtain this soul pet!

Chu Mu closed his eyes, and using his soul to guide his soul power, he activated the power of the soul contract!

“Fourth soul contract, activate!”

A special, light blue ring of light appeared in Chu Mu hands, radiating a beautiful brilliance.

Chu Mu palms softly pressed on the Moonlight Fox, and the ring of light immediately surrounded it.

The Moonlight Fox’s eyes revealed its fear, and it started to struggle madly. However, the white silk that the blue worm produced is too flexible, and the weak fox could not break free.

The soul contract’s ring continued to emit its water-like brilliance, but as the Moonlight Fox struggled, the light blue ring started to dim.

The light continued to dim, until at last the soul contract ring disappeared.

The disappearance of the blue ring, symbolises the failure of the contract. The soul pet is resisting strongly, refusing Chu Mu’s soul contract.

Chu Mu knows that the probability of succeeding on the first try is not high. Fortunately, the White Nightmare Demon has been dormant recently, and the soul power in his body is plentiful, enough for him to cast the soul contract ten times.

Chu Mu once again expended his soul power and released the light blue soul contract ring.

The ring surrounded the Moonlight Fox, and the stimulation on its soul caused it to immediately reveal its pain and anger. It struggled madly, and before long, the light blue soul contract ring disappeared again.

Chu Mu obviously would not give up that easily, and continued to cast the soul contract.

For six consecutive times, Chu Mu did not manage to successfully contract the soul pet.

On the seventh try, Chu Mu did not immediately cast the soul contract. He looked at the stubborn Moonlight Fox, and said: “Little guy, I know that you do not want to be controlled by others, but you are too weak now. It is very difficult for you to survive on this island, and you may very well be killed while you are still young. You don’t want to die like this do you? You desire to be strong, and I am the one who can make you stand at the top of the world!”

“Accept my soul contract!!!”

Chu Mu spoke seriously, as he believed soul pets can understand the human language.

Saying that, Chu Mu casted for the seventh time, the soul contract. He pressed his palms on the Moonlight Fox, and the light blue ring surrounded its body again.
