Chapter 681: Little Sweetie and Madam Cow

Good-For-Nothing was the name of the stupid-looking Husky, and it turned to glare at its owner .

Snowy was used in the conflict between Good-For-Nothing and Snowball . It's said that when a cat meets a dog of the same size, or even larger, that the cat would be at an advantage .

However, the Husky never learned its lessons, so it always came back for more, probably because of its bad memory .

As expected, Good-For-Nothing stretched out one of its paws and tried to smack Snowball, but just as it raised its paw, Snowball retaliated and went to scratch its face . Thankfully, Snowball's legs were short, so it missed .

Good-For-Nothing was shocked and hid in a corner . It couldn't seem to beat the cat, but it couldn't admit defeat so easily . It decided to go to its owner for help . It ran to Jin Er and started to roll around on the ground, pretending to be sad .

Jin Er despised its shameful appearance, so he ignored Good-For-Nothing and continued to fish .

Plan A backfired, so Good-For-Nothing started Plan B . It started squirming its body forwards, placing its mouth right beside a pile of dirty snow . It had heard that the snow had some kind of industrial salt all over it, so it pretended to commit suicide to get its owner's attention .

Jin Er sighed and said, "Something must have gone wrong with my brain to think I could raise this Good-For-Nothing!"

He shifted the fishing rod to one hand . With the other hand, he reached in the cooler, dug out a honey-roasted chicken drumstick, and threw it at the Husky . Good-For-Nothing stood up to eat the chicken, its defeat forgotten .

Snowy brought Snowball into the forest and walked towards Jin Er .

Good-For-Nothing was just about to dig in when it heard noises . It turned around to see its mortal enemy, and Good-For-Nothing immediately panicked .

The lake was right in front of it, and although it knew how to swim, the water would be freezing, and the drumstick wouldn't be good if it was cold .

If they were to battle it out, Good-For-Nothing would definitely lose, and even if it wanted to run, there was nowhere to go . In a panic, Good-For-Nothing held the drumstick in its mouth as it dashed towards a tree and tried to climb it . To no one's surprise, it slid down .

With nowhere to go, Good-For-Nothing retreated back to the lake and glared at the cat .

Jin Er placed a hand on his forehead, ashamed .

"Uncle Jin, Happy New Year . " Snowy grinned with her hands behind her back .

"Happy New Year, Snowy . " Jin Er awkwardly laughed . He stretched his hand into the cooler again and fumbled around for a while . "I didn't bring any red packets with me when I left today . Do you want a drumstick? I roasted it personally . It's still hot . "

"No, it's okay . Mom made a cake at home, and I'll eat that when I get back . " Snowy quickly shook her head . She didn't want to stand there eating a drumstick in front of Snowball . It would despise her .

"That's a pity . It's quite delicious . " Jin Er took out another drumstick and took a bite .

Jin Er finished the drumstick in a few bites and threw the bone back into the cooler before he let out a dry cough . He pointed to the Husky and said, "The dog isn't actually mine . I'm just helping someone by looking after it . It's adopted . "

Snowy intelligently decided not to say anything even though she knew he was lying .

Good-For-Nothing quickly lowered his head and chewed on the drumstick . When it heard what its master said, Good-For-Nothing raised its head to look at him as if it wanted to call him out on his lie .

Jin Er knew his lie wasn't smart, so to prevent Snowy from asking questions, he tried to change the subject . "You must have received a lot of red packets today, right?"

Snowy nodded . "It's not much different from last year . "

Snowy noticed that Jin Er wore a down jacket, thick gloves, a pair of waterproof boots, and a fisherman's hat as he sat on a foldable chair . He had a carbon fiber fishing rod in front of him and a white cooler next to him . He also had a blue bucket that was used to store fish, but it was empty .

Snowy often found Jin Er fishing by the lake . She knew that he didn't eat them . He'd just throw them back into the water . Jin Er just enjoyed the process of fishing . The blue plastic bucket was only a temporary place for the fish he caught .

"Today is the first day of the New Year . Shouldn't there be many people visiting you today?" Snowy squatted . "Why aren't you at home to receive the visitors?"

"Ha!" Jin Er wiped his greasy lips . "Well, I'm not like your father . I don't have a beautiful daughter to receive a whole bunch of red packets . If I stayed at home, I'd have to give people red packets . It's a great loss for me, so I might as well be out here to fish!"

Although his excuse sounded reasonable, Snowy didn't believe a single word . She also didn't really care . She was only looking for a subject to talk about .

Snowball stood next to her leg and glanced at Good-For-Nothing from time to time .

Snowy looked at the hole for a while . Ever since she came over to Jin Er, the fishing float didn't budge . It was as if the float was frozen . This made her doubt whether there were even any fish in the lake .
