Chapter 314: Where?

Clip clop clip clop. The rumbling of animal trotting surprised many birds around, causing them to fly up in shock.

The smaller animals were all running from the sound frantically for their lives.

A group of teenagers riding rare beasts and spirit animals were chasing after them, laughing and yelling.

The youngest was only fifteen or sixteen, while the eldest was not more than twenty, in the prime of their lives.

A girl dashed forward, pointing at a wild boar in front of her and yelling at her friends. “That one is mine! Watch!”

Soon, an arrow flew out, and a black wild boar that was running for its life dropped to the ground.

“Great!” Her friends beside her all cheered.

The elder counterparts who were following behind them watched with smiles.

A handsome and smart-looking guy among them was all smiles. He sighed, “This girl… only wants to be in the limelight!”

A guy who was next to him and held a saber laughed. “She’s still young. When could she have fun if not now? It’s not a bad thing either.”

“How is it good if she can’t remain seated for a moment?” The guy shook his head in disagreement.

“Ai, what’s there to worry about?” The girl in blue beside him laughed. “The sister of you – Ji Xulin – can do anything she wants, and you would still have her back!”

Hearing this, the guy with the saber burst out in laughter. “Ruo Yu is right. Xulin, are you perhaps frightened?”

Ji Xulin sighed and pointed at them as if he was reprimanding them. “You guys don’t do me any good, do you?”

“That’s because you’re capable,” Ruo Yu said without the slightest hesitation. “You are the only one who can represent us, Bell Woods, in the Sea of Cloud’s debate.”

“I’m not that good,” Ji Xulin answered humbly. “Bell Woods’ new generation is filled with many strong competitors. I may be ranked among them, but I may not win for sure.”

“You’re too humble. Other than you, there’s only Lu Shiheng and Zheng Cai who could compete with you. Previously, Lu Shiheng returned from his trip wounded, and Zheng Cai is facing a bottleneck now. Who’s left to compete with you if the two of them are down?”

“Who knows? There may be some talent hiding among the rest….”

“Do you mean the aliens?” Ruo Yu asked disdainfully. “What can they do?”

Suddenly, they heard screaming from the front, and there were rumbling sounds everywhere.

The three of them looked up, and what they saw shocked them.

“Oh no! A Scarlet Fire Beast!”

Three days passed, and Lu Mingshu’s injuries had almost fully healed.

Yan Wugui gasped in awe, admiring her recovery speed. “Wow, such a serious injury yet you can recover at such a fast speed. Is it perhaps because your zodiac sign is a lizard?”

Lu Mingshu raised her eyebrows.

“Well, they can regenerate their tail if they happen to lose it!”

“…”

Yan Wugui laughed at his own joke, but seeing that Lu Mingshu didn’t respond, he stopped. “Since you’re okay, then let’s move on. We don’t even know where we are, and it’s not a good idea to keep staying around here.”

“Agreed.” Lu Mingshu stretched herself. “What about you? Are you okay?”

“Ah, nothing much.” Seeing her stare, Yan Wugui looked down in guilt. “I may need more time.”

Lu Mingshu nodded. Of course, she trusted that Yan Wugui would recover. The Seventh Truth Platform was good with medicine, and Xie Lianzhen was good at it too.

Suddenly, birds were flying everywhere.

Yan Wugui looked up abruptly and pointed toward a direction. “Hide well, someone’s coming.”

He then kicked out the fire he started and jumped up, disappearing into the woods.

Lu Mingshu sighed. He was gone before she could even protest. “I am not that weak, right? You don’t have any faith in me?” she muttered.

With that, she leaped up onto the tree to have a look.

This was the first time in Ji Xulin’s life that he wanted to curse out loud.

When had he – the young master of the Ji Family – ever been in such a sorry state? He came out happily to have a walk and hunt, yet he met up with a Scarlet Fire Beast? What luck was that? His companions were mostly Misses and Masters from huge aristocratic families in Bell Woods. If anything happened, he would be in big trouble. And the Ji Family was the head among the aristocratic families, so how could he not step forward to take care of the situation?

Who would have expected a Scarlet Fire Beast in the Purity Soul Realm would break through to the Freezing Spirit Realm so suddenly? Maybe it ate something wrong, but regardless, it was now chasing after him.

Wow, this is going to be the best joke ever. The Young Master of the Ji Family is being chased by a Scarlet Fire Beast.

But he did not have any more time to think about this right now. There was a big difference between a Purity Soul Realm beast and a Freezing Spirit Realm one. If they came face to face, he couldn’t take it down.

Run, just run. Preserve my life.

“Whoa!” The temperature behind him was getting higher. Ji Xulin jumped up, dodging the fireball in time.

The big fireball landed in the bushes, setting them on fire.

The beast shot more fireballs as it chased Ji Xulin, making the whole place a burning mess.

Ji Xulin sped through the woods. He saw a figure pass by and shouted to it. “Hey brother, can you please lend me a helping hand? I’m Ji Xulin from the Ji family, and I’ll thank you generously if you do!”

But the other party only took a glance at him before disappearing into the woods.

Ji Xulin gritted his teeth in anger. Asshole, if he knew who I am, he’ll… wait, there was no Spirit Seal on his face? An alien, huh…?

Yan Wugui sped back to where he left Lu Mingshu and yelled. “Run! A beast is coming for us! It’s in the Spirit Realm!”

“What?” Lu Mingshu jumped down from the tree.

Yan Wugui grabbed her tightly and ran down the mountain at the speed of lightning. “No time to explain, just run.”

They were both seriously injured, so how could they deal with a beast in the Spirit Realm? Thus, Yan Wugui would rather not lend a helping hand.

How could I lend a helping hand if I can’t even save myself? Does that guy think I’m nuts?

And that guy doesn’t look nice anyway. That beast is going crazy and he called out to me? To divert its attention toward me? Where’s his conscience?

So, the both of them sped through the woods, only stopping when they were out.

“Is it still behind us?” Lu Mingshu panted.

“I don’t think so.” Yan Wugui wiped off his sweat. He looked around, and when he saw the scenery below, he hummed happily. “Oh, this is not bad!” It was a vast place with lots of buildings. It looked like a prosperous area.

After a while, he turned to Lu Mingshu. “This isn’t China, huh?”

Lu Mingshu stared at him blankly. She never mentioned where this was, and Yan Wugui never asked after he saw that she did not say anything.

“Yeah.” She nodded.

“Nice.” Yan Wugui chuckled.

“You’re not going to ask?” Lu Mingshu looked over at him, surprised at his short answer.

“What am I supposed to ask?”

“‘Why are we here?'”

“Aren’t you unwilling to say?” He shrugged.

So if I say nothing, you’re not even going to try and find out? But Lu Mingshu didn’t voice that out.

“Do you even care if we can ever get back?”

“We can’t?” Yan Wugui looked at her with wide eyes.

“Nah, I’m just fooling around with you.” Lu Mingshu laughed.

She went forward immediately. This time, it would be different. Xiao Sang mentioned that going back would be hard since being here physically would have a direct impact on the world.
