Island Adventure (Part 4)

Maybe it was just a trick to blend water by the Soviet Union troops before their withdrawal to avoid their enemies get the diesel oil .

Well, with no available diesel oil, he could only go back and tell Ivanov the bad news .

Although it was a pity for Chen An that the oil could not be used, the thought of going back to find Ivanov relieved him .

He walked at a faster pace, but there was only weeds and ruins in the bleak cold wind in his vision, and he could not see the damn bear .

The bear wandered around in front of you every day when he should not appear, but he disappeared without a trace when you needed him, thought Chen An .

“Ivanov!” Chen An shouted .

He was surrounded by nothing, and no one answered him .

“Goo goo goo - goo goo goo -”

He could not tell what creature was shouting . The setting sun had begun to retract her soft light, and it was getting dark .

After shouting several times without hearing Ivanov’s response, Chen An gradually became a little bit anxious . Had something happened to that damn bear?

“Ivan-”

“Where are you? Answer me when you hear me!”

He remembered Ivanov was coming this way . Chen An kept looking around as he shouted . The setting sun had touched the sea level as if the next moment it would be swallowed up by the deep sea .

With the advent of the night, the whole island was plunged into an eerie atmosphere . Unknown birds flitted across the sky in a low profile, whirring toward the abandoned building .

Chen An’s eyes rested on the deserted building . Would Ivanov run in there?

He took out his flashlight and walked towards the building . In a short time, he came to the entrance of the building . Inside, there was a rotten smell of no one living for a long time . Dust was everywhere . Boots left by former Soviet soldiers fell on the ground askew .

“Ivan, are you here?” Chen An stood at the door and shouted . His echo came from the empty building .

“You fucking bear, don’t let me find you, or you’re finished, damn Ivanov!” Thought Chen An in his heart .

Breathing out a sigh of relief gently, Chen An entered the deserted military building . He used a flashlight to shine around, the corner of the room was full of spider webs and dust, the ground filled with broken old furniture .

“Ivan, have you heard my voice? Answer me when you hear it . . . ”

He could still only hear his own reply . It sounded like the shabby house was playing games with him and repeating his words .

More and more cold sweat broke out from his palm and forehead . He hated the feeling that he was the only one in the world . He hated being alone . He hated being alone on this damn island .

As his pace became heavier, Chen An suddenly felt a little bit tired . He stopped gradually and sat down on the dusty ground, holding a flashlight in one hand and his forehead in the other, as if someone was pinching his heart, making it hard for him to breathe .

“An-”

Was it an illusion?  He seemed to hear someone calling him .

“Chen An . Where are you?”

The rattled voice sounded just like that damn bear .
