350. Alo's Evolution

I managed to shake off all the disarrayed monsters by flying in the air.
As chaotic as their all-out brawl is, they’re still just wild beasts in a state of confusion.
If I’m far enough, they won’t come after me, and they can all just kill each other.
It seems that the Basilisk planned to get me involved in that hectic monster rumble, but thankfully, the difference in our magic power was so wide, I didn’t completely fall into confusion.

Looking back, I can see the mayhem of monsters fighting in the distance.
Despite the Adam randomly firing〖Gravidon〗everywhere, it’s already crushing all enemies in its path just by stomping its feet.
Adam is a combat type monster specializing in attack and speed.
No lower ranked monster could possibly hold a candle against one.
…… And, it just dawned on me that the Basilisk was able to petrify one, ignoring rank differences.

After flying a significant distance, I make an early landing.
Nightmare managed to recover the jar carrying all the materials we gathered, but since our flight was so rough, some contents inside fell on the way here.

The Basilisk that Partner wanted to eat is also in tatters, with its feathers shaved off and skin all scraped over.
It was sorta expected since I was flying low and it got dragged around in the ground, crashing into thorny bushes and sharp pebbles, but it’s still awful to look at. It’s like a horrid display of public torture and execution.
Regardless, due to its〖Poison Sash〗characteristic, its poisonous body fluids, that have been leaking out of the cuts and grazes on its body, were corroding the grass and soil while it was being dragged around.

…… That’s definitely not in my menu anymore.
Partner, are you really sure you want to eat that?
I know you’ve been a really good help to me, and I appreciate that, in fact, I still do, and if you tell me that you want to eat that, then I’m really okay with it.
It probably won’t upset our stomach much, considering all our resistances, right?
I don’t recommend it though.
If you can just be patient, I can provide a much better food for you, us, both.

After landing safely, I put Treant down, put my jaw near the ground and open my mouth, then Alo comes rolling out my tongue.
Alo, who is covered by my saliva, has started turning into soil from her head down.
Oof…… my bad.

Alo stands up and nods at me, not minding it.
She nodded without speaking.
Oh yeah, that’s right! Alo should be at max level right now!
If she is, she can finally evolve again and get closer to being human.

Alo looked downhearted at first, being covered in my slobber and all, but after seeing my excited face, she realized that her level is finally maxed out and joins me in excitement.

These guys may have leveled up quite a bit as well.

Well, she did help us in assists and stuff.
I know that it’s easier to level up in the early levels, but this is already quite the feat.
If I’m not careful, she might just take over me without my knowing.

It doesn’t look like she’s particularly fond of me complimenting her, so Nightmare spits a web on Partner’s forehead and climbs herself up.
Partner seems to be bothered by Nightmare spreading her saliva all over her head as she climbs up and almost shook her off.
I feel you, Partner. I really do.

Now, as for Treant……
Treant walks to me, brimming with confidence.
Fufu, well, since you’re that eager, let’s see what you got, big guy.

Partner growls and Alo gets surrounded in a veil of black light.
Soon afterwards, the black light fades away.
Alo is seen just standing in place with eyes closed.

So…… did she evolve?
Her soily head that was drenched in my slobber earlier is now clean. I don’t really see any particular change in appearance other than that……
Although, she has grown taller and looking more…… sexy?
Like, if she had the body of a 10 year old before, then this feels like she aged by 3 years.

I haven’t seen her use it yet so I don’t know what it does, but I wonder how effective it’s gotten now that it’s leveled up……

As for her new skills……〖Undead Maker〗is her only new characteristic skill, huh.
It sounds disturbing…… does it mean what I think it means?
Then there’s〖Charm〗,〖Wide Drain〗, and〖Dark Sphere〗…… oh damn, charm, huh.
〖Wide Drain〗must be an AoE version of Drain.

It doesn’t specify…… but, does it drain HP or MP?
Lastly…… she has〖Final Evolutionist〗and〖Undead Queen〗as her new titles……
So this is Alo’s last evolution, then. Even Nightmare is only at C+, and she’s already at her final evolution.
Treant’s the only one who doesn’t have〖Final Evolutionist〗yet.
Could this be Treant’s time to shine?

In any case, Treant, Nightmare, and Alo have all evolved successfully…… a team of C+, C+, and a B+, huh.
Since it’ll still take a while for me to evolve…… I guess we can all level up a bit more before entering the ruins again.

There could be something to do with me in there.
Besides, now that I sort of get the gist of what this world is and my previous one, I don’t think this problem involves just me.
The number of important things I’ve got to take care of has increased because of this mysterious island, and most of all, I contain knowledge of my previous life and yet no particular memory comes to mind when I try to remember.
This only makes me more curious, and I want to know more.
