Probably because of the Sirens’ distorted shrieking, but my vision is getting blurrier. I feel nauseous.
I can’t think straight.
This feeling feels like having the〖Confused〗status condition…… so then, are they using〖Confusion Song〗instead of〖Death Song〗?

For the sake of remaining sane, I headbutt Partner’s face.

“Gra~a?!”

Sorry Partner, but hearing your pained cries managed to clear my head somehow. Or maybe it was the headbutt.
A large stone near us gave me the idea to counter the confusion.
Since we can just heal ourselves, it won’t matter how injured we get, even if it’s us who’re causing it.

Alo was about to hit me with an earth spell, but when I give her a quick glance, she sighs in relief and cancels her spell.
…… I’m glad I broke free from confusion early, otherwise I would‘ve received a huge blow to the head.

I check how Treant and Nightmare are doing.
Nightmare has buried her feet unto the sand and is staying still.
I see that she doesn’t want to show her clumsy side while in a confused state.

What a smart spider.
I know there are situations where being unable to move would pose a disadvantage, but in this case, where only Alo isn’t affected by the enemy’s status attacks, Nightmare and Treant would only hold us back, and she knows that.

As for Treant…… he’s walking away from me like a drunkard.
Nani the heck?! He’s completely confused!
At least have the tiny shred of competence like Nightmare here!

“Gishaaaa~aaa!”

Treant cries and a ring of black light surrounds Treant.
He’s using his〖Gravity〗skill.
…… I didn’t know he can make sounds like that, or maybe I have but I just forgot.

Treant seems to have used up a bunch of his magic into his〖Gravity〗skill, widening the range, putting me, Alo, and Nightmare within radius of the skill.
Alo falls off my head and lands on my back, holding onto my mane, while Nightmare sinks further unto the sand, getting even more stuck.
…… Looks like someone’s gonna get wrapped under spider web when we get home.

“Gru~uooo!”

I roar and fire a〖Wind Slash〗at the hovering Sirens in the sky.
But since my vision was blurry, I shot haphazardly. My〖Wind Slash〗just passes by the Siren I tried to hit who was positioned right over it.
Damn! I should’ve aimed a little higher……

The other Siren flies up behind me and retaliates with its own〖Wind Slash〗.
I simply swipe it away with the tip of my tail.
Then, the two Sirens start flying all around, singing in constant disharmony.

…… Despite the ear-wrenching screeches they’re singing, the Sirens are flying more coordinated now.
If I focus on one of them, then I’ll lose track of the other. It’ll use that chance to attempt an attack on Alo and the others.
Even while I think of a way to do something about it…… their constant racket makes it hard to think straight.

Maybe I should just focus on one thing and not overthink stuff.
I mean, no matter how much I think about it, there’s just too many things to keep track of.
So yeah, I really should just focus on one thing, and avoid thinking of anything else that would give me more headache.

The Sirens’ MP should be cutting it close by now after fighting against an Adam.
The ones who’ll be in a disadvantage if they keep shooting〖Wind Slash〗here, are the Sirens.
And when that happens, they’ll be forced to change tactics.
I’m sure that their new tactic will leave them with more openings than this current one, being low in MP and all. Should I wait until then?

I try my best to stay calm and only focus on dealing with their incoming〖Wind Slash〗attacks.
Occasionally, Alo would use〖Clay〗to snap some sense into Treant, only for him to get confused again.
And, if she saw a chance, she would cast〖Gale〗on the two Sirens to distract them from their singing.

The two Sirens continue to fly around me, as I try to shoot them down with〖Wind Slash〗, and sometimes, when Alo restores Treant’s sanity again, he would offer support with〖Gravity〗or〖Clay Sphere〗to slow down the Sirens.
Time passed and our straightforward exchange continued to go on in repeat.

I then realized the Sirens’ aren’t shooting 〖Wind Slash〗 much anymore.
And, I think they’re getting tired from their singing, since I’m starting to think clearly now.
They must be reaching their limit.

I took initiative and fired a〖Wind Slash〗at a Siren who was flying upward to avoid Alo’s〖Gale〗.
But, since its guard was still up, it avoided Alo’s〖Gale〗with minimal movement as it used all its strength to evade my〖Wind Slash〗.
Then, as if coincidence, Treant’s〖Clay Sphere〗was already on its way to the position where it evaded my attack.
Since the Sirens were too busy watching our every move and weary from their constant shrieking, they failed to notice Treant, who is now perfectly sane again.

It didn’t really deal much damage, but it was enough to convince the Sirens to change their strategy.
After receiving a〖Clay Sphere〗to the face, the Siren’s makes a revolted expression and shakes off the dirt.
Then, it looks at its fellow Siren.
After a quick glance at each other, they resume their cacophony noise and fly around me once again, only this time, narrowing the radius of their flight circle and getting closer and closer.

The closer they get, the louder their confusing song gets and the more I feel sick about it.
But, that’s fine by me since I’ll clearly have the advantage at close quarters.
So, if you’re coming, then come. I’ll blast you away in one hit.
In the nick of time too, as I was clearly fed up with all their status attacks.

Then suddenly, the Sirens’ singing changed tone.
The constant shrieking and disharmony they were singing started to mesh with each other and turned into a verbally intense song.
I can also think clearly again.
My confused status slowly disappearing could mean that…… they switched to〖Death Song〗this late in the game? That only gives us more reason to finish this with haste.
I start building up power in my hind legs.

Nightmare, who was submerged under deep sand, unburied herself and got up.
A black light gathers in front of her white mask.
It’s〖Dark Sphere〗.
Since the Sirens stopped using a confusion attack, Nightmare’s back to normal now, and it looks like she was already plotting for payback the instant she gets back up.

That said, the Sirens are still faster than Nightmare.
Even if they stopped singing their〖Confusion Song〗, I bet she’s still having trouble readjusting her composure.
She may not even be able to aim properly…… so I wonder what her real plan is.
