Chapter 2

  Sacrifice of the Domain

The girl tilted her head, looking at Al ready to fight. She wore a skimpy outfit without restraint, from under which white, smooth skin could be seen. Her shiny hair was the color of gold, and her eyes resembled precious rubies. The gaze she had just bestowed upon Al had a seductive power, capable of bewildering even those aware of the trap. She was almost pretty as a picture, almost delicate as a flower.

Almost - because unfortunately the impression was spoiled by the fact that one eye was hanging sadly from its socket and half of the face was massacred. Besides, "the pretty girl had a nasty character.

- Uhahaha! You make me laugh, you piece of meat! "Over your dead body"?! What kind of threat is that?! What's wrong with you? Uhahaha! What fun! - she laughed piercingly.

The Archbishop of Lust was able to manipulate the shape of her body at will, so that she now regenerated instantly after the fall. Not even a trace remained of her wounds.

- Oh, man, that's a nasty sight. I hate horror movies... When I see blood, it makes me sick.

- You're a charming man! You meet a woman and immediately tell her she looks ugly. I'm sure you're popular. Or maybe you're just playing the fool to catch me off guard so when I'm not careful, you can do something to me with that... strong arm?

- Women shouldn't make such ambiguous jokes. It's discouraging.

Capella raised an eyebrow. Her pretty face twisted into a mischievous grin.

- Uhahahaha! Such a big guy, and he's bothered by stupid jokes! What are you, an innocent virgin? I wonder what other fantasies you breed in that head of yours! I'll trample i6, I'll destroy it!

- Hey, don't make me repeat myself. I'm in a bad mood today, so you better watch out. To be honest, I don't really feel like it," Al said carelessly.

Neither seduction attempts nor provocations worked on him. Unlike Anastasia and Ferris, he didn't look like he was particularly determined to fight.

- Don't you want to? - Capella squinted her eyes. - You should not have set a trap for me! You wait for me here and then say that you don't want to. This is absurd. Who's to blame for all this fuss?!

- Who? You, who?!

- Well, maybe this particular fight happened because of me. But is it really all just my fault? Really? Everything that happened in this city is the fault of the Archbishops? - she said. She arranged her fingers into a square frame, through which she gave her opponent a meaningful glance.

Al sighed.

It was a very, very long sigh.

- What are you insinuating?

- Nooooothing. I just know there's someone here who got in my way a lot. I've been wondering for a long time who it could be... Yeah, yeah, yeah! For example, a few hours ago, someone opened the gate and flooded half the city. Ever since then, I've been constantly asking myself who could have done it! - She spread her arms and smiled beautifully and venomously at the same time.

- Huh? - muttered Al, then violently moved his head so that the vertebrae shot loudly. - I have no idea what you're talking about.

- Hmmm? Are you playing dumb? After all, you can tell me, I won't rat you out to your friends! Besides, I don't see why it should be a secret. If it wasn't, the city would have been in our hands long ago. If they find out, they'll only thank you! - Capella laughed out loud, - Maybe... Maybe you don't want it to get out that you were doing something in secret? By the way... You know I'm dying to get my hands on Witch's remains? And it just so happens that everyone who knew their location just took them and started dying... All unconnected, by accident, one by one. Interesting, isn't it?

- It is sad. In these difficult circumstances, all it takes is a bit of bad luck and you die," he replied in an indifferent tone.

- Uhahapffff! - Laughing out loud, the girl covered her mouth.

- What a pain in the ass... - He sighed. - You're different from the rest of the Archbishops.

- Oh, you know those piles of meat? The frazzled, brooding grandmother? The one who doesn't know what to do with a girl and doesn't listen at all? Or the boy who just eats and eats? You pick your friends poorly. Do your parents know you hang out with those types? Get yourself some better company!

- Shit, if I were to do that, I'd have to name all my friends....

- Uhahaha! I knew it! But my love is so great that even the likes of you can earn it! Take off that helmet, show me your face, let me love you!

Capella always thought only of love, even when the other person clearly rejected her. Unless, of course, that something in which there was no trace of humanity could be called love.

Al replied, raising the Blue Dragon Blade.

- I'm so glad you're into me, but forgive me... I'm not sure it's mutual. And besides, I'd be embarrassed if my friends found out I'm dating such an ugly girl. So it's not gonna happen.

- Uh... are you so afraid of what other people will think of you? That's cute. I even like cute boys like that who would want a woman to boss them around. Mmmm, masochists...

- What? What are you talking about?

- Arrogant, confident, a little aggressive. Sexy warrior body! Tall and with a bit of a bare chest. Plus he's cheeky, mouthy, but not stupid. He does what you ask him to do, but he doesn't socialize with others," said the Archbishop, and her body was changing. The young girl's petite arms lengthened and her outfit changed into an elegant gown with a deep neckline and exposed back. Now Capella was a beautiful woman with long golden hair, a confident expression and an intelligent gaze. - I wonder... Did I hit it?

Al looked at her doubtfully. She hadn't turned into anyone in particular, but she reminded him of someone.

- Hmmm? Not a fan of blondes, are you? I thought that in Lugnica blondes were considered the most attractive. - Capella kept changing her hair color, watching his reactions. She went through black, brown, green and blue and finally she started testing red shades. - Red didn't... Oh, so this!

She had hit on someone that Al associated with a close friend. Her hair was orange now.

- Yuck! Disgusting. How do you know what she looks like?

- I don't know! I don't need to know what she looks like, I don't need to know her. Your reaction was enough for me. It's obvious that a devoted woman will do anything to change herself to suit her beloved's tastes.

- My reaction? Don't make things up. You can't see my face - he answered indifferently.

- Preferences can be recognized by the tone of voice, gestures, pauses between words, the angle of head tilt, posture. Everything comes out in conversation - she protested calmly.

Al suddenly didn't know what to answer. Capella was now looking at him with red eyes.

- I'm constantly trying not to miss a single move, not a single gesture. Look at me as I do for you. Just look at me,' she said, gradually becoming more and more like Priscilla. - My face, my body, my movements, my voice, everything is exactly the way you like it. Isn't it! - she exclaimed at the end, when she already looked exactly like Mrs. Al. She craved his love and she wasn't going to hide it.

- Sorry, but that's too progressive for us commoners. We prefer more natural.

- Why are you defending yourself? Have I made a mistake? Is there something about me you don't like?

- Don't get me wrong. I neither love you nor hate you. You're completely indifferent to me. Well, maybe I'm a little disgusted with you because I find you hard to look at. I'm sorry.

- Traitor! Fucking unfaithful piece of meat! - she growled furiously, stomping angrily. Her right arm immediately began to grow. At its end, the head of a large wolf appeared and whined. The arm lengthened, and armed with sharp fangs, the beast collapsed onto the torso of the still unmoving Al. At the last moment, he dodged to the side.

- You're not getting away from me!

Capella turned her other hand into a giant snake.

- I'm not going to! Now, backwards...

He jumped back slightly. As soon as he landed, he had to defend against the wolf again. Its sharp fangs stopped on the Heavenly Dragon's Blade's wedge.

- Whoa! Ooo! Donaaa! – he shouted the spell. A rock rose from the floor and pinned Capella's wolf arm to the ceiling, shattering the beast's skull. Blood gushed out.

Capella shuddered, so Al jumped toward her.

- Well then hoooop! - he shouted, cutting horizontally across her neck.

The head flew high into the air. Blood gushed from the body. Judging from what had happened to Crusch, one should have stayed away from her, but Al didn't jump away. He didn't even try to shield himself from the Archbishop's blood.

- You think I'm going to fall for that, you little con artist?

He fearlessly walked over the pool of blood that was still oozing from the bent corpse and thrust the Blue Dragon Blade between the girl's shoulder blades until it went all the way through, as if he wanted to once again kill someone who was, after all, already dead, just to be sure.

That was not enough for him. He leaned a foot against Capella's back and pressed her to the floor.

- We'll launch you into space... El Dona! - he shouted. Magic flowed along the sword's blade, to its very hilt. The Archbishop's body exploded from within.

Chunks of flesh flew in all directions, entrails and fresh blood splashed across the basement. Capella met a cruel end.

- Haa! Well? I think you've had enough! - said Al to the remains of his opponent, panting heavily. The air reeked of blood, why was he talking to something that didn't even look human anymore? A body torn into pieces could not answer...

- Terrible, really! You didn't have to massacre me like that!

And yet.

- Damn it... - snorted Al with displeasure, improving his grip on the handle.

He turned his back on the wet spot that had been Capella's body only moments ago to point the sword's hilt towards her head, which rolled into the corner of the room after being cut off.

The head with Priscilla's features lay touching the floor with its cheek, and stared at Al with hateful satisfaction.

- Hey, what's up? But I cut off your head, pierced your heart, and blew it apart! Why are you still alive? - he sighed tiredly.

- It may indeed surprise you, I agree, but your cruelty is also quite unusual. After all, I looked just the way you like it, didn't I? And yet this is how you treated me. Or do you just prefer it rough? - she asked, rising.

Where her neck had been slit, something writhing and black appeared. The organic mass helped her head to rise, then began to grow and change into flesh. Legs and arms sprouted, and the whole thing was covered in white skin. The Archbishop looked again as before.

- And these leftovers here?

- I don't need them anymore. I'll destroy them," she said.

The pieces of her body scattered around first turned black and then began to melt with a hiss. After a while only the smell of rot remained. Disgusted Al had really had enough.

- You didn't even hesitate. Weren't you afraid my blood would infect you?

- I don't know what's got to happen for that piss of yours to infect me. I suspect just spraying it won't be enough. There's no point in avoiding it.

- Hmmm? You didn't do anything like that...

- You wouldn't understand anyway. Anyway, I already know that cutting off the head isn't enough, piercing the heart doesn't do anything, blowing it up doesn't do anything... Next time I think I'll destroy the head. Damn, how I don't like blood... - He sighed tiredly.

It was apparent that all the measures used had not harmed Capella in any way. Al was right to conclude that the power of Lust was turning her practically immortal.

- Damn it.

- Bravo! You already know what a tough opponent I am, and yet you don't give up! That's so manly! I like you more and more! Now I even like you so much that I can't stand it! Uhahahaha!

Al didn't reply, just assumed a fighting stance. The contemptuous smile disappeared from Capella's face.

- Hmmm? I am really impressed. I see you're going to try - she said without mocking in her voice.

He sighed. His opponent looked at him with squinted eyes.

- Unfortunately, I have to. Otherwise I'd get my ass kicked by my lady... Your powers are terrible, but I'm even more terrified of her wrath. I can't back down.

- I guess I'll have to teach you that you don't tell a woman about other women. Just so you remember that once and for all.

Capella began to change again. Her body swelled, her bones shifted. Al watched her transformation with resignation.

- Shit... The stars are not in my favor today... - he muttered.
