Director Zhang hesitated and then asked, “What? The pants? That can’t be true! Why would pants lose color?”
“People like you haven’t had a hard time. Of course you don’t know that cheap pants lose color,” Qin Haodong turned back to the young man and asked, “I guess they cost you 20 yuan tops.”
The young man remained silent. The old woman answered embarrassedly, “Eight yuan, actually. I am saving money for his future wedding and family, hoping that he can find a nice girl. So I was cutting off our budgets. Now I feel ashamed.”
Qin Haodong said, “It’s fine, go back and get changed. Take a bath and it will all be gone. Remember, no matter how hard your life is, don’t buy those cheap and nasty things. The dye stuff is bad for your skin. It might get you sick after wearing them for long.”
“OK, Dr. Tang. Thank you so much, I’ll be careful in the future.”
The old woman and the young man expressed their appreciation again and again.
The young man put on his shoes and turned back to Director Zhang. Then he shouted, “You quack! I’m not sick at all. You stole 1000 yuan from me! Give me my money back!”
Director Zhang looked so humiliated and replied, “The hospital charged you, not me. I don’t know how to give it back to you.”
“Forget it, son. Let’s go home.”
They walked out of the clinic together. Before leaving, the young man spat on Director Zhang and the others, “You couldn’t even tell it was the color stuff from pants? What kind of expert are you? You quack!”
The two had already left, but those experts felt deeply ashamed. They were there to humiliate Qin Haodong, but they had become the ones humiliated instead. They lost the fight because of a pair of underpants.
They felt so ashamed to stay there, so they turned back to leave. Qin Haodong stopped them and asked, “Wait, are you leaving?”
Dong Kai was furious. What Qin Haodong did just now made them look so weak. He turned back and shouted, “I’ll leave when I feel like leaving! It’s none of your business!”
Before he could finish his words, Qin Haodong’s finger poked on his chest. Then Dong Kai froze right there like a wax figure. He couldn’t move an inch.
Dong Kai was frightened when he found his own body was running out of control. He yelled in anger, “What are you doing? Let go of me!”
Director Zhao stepped forward and said, “That’s a personal attack. I can sue you!”
Before he finished his words, Qin Haodong hit his acupuncture point, too. Seven people who had provoked Qin Haodong were all frozen there like wax figures. The only parts on them that could move was their mouths.
“Not to do anything more than three times. I bet you people from Celestial Land know the rule clearly. Now that you’ve provoked me again and again. I’ll have to teach you a lesson! Or you’ll see me as a pushover!”
Qin Haodong stood with his hands clasped on his back. He looked at those people with a bantering face and asked, “You said you were the believers of science, and you insisted that the meridians of TMC didn’t even exist, and you said the acupuncture points were nonsense. Now I’ve hit all your acupuncture points, I dare any of you to take one step forward!”
Those doctors had never been hit on their acupuncture points before. They were currently terrified and screaming, “Dr. Tang, you can’t do that! Please let us go!”
Qin Haodong walked around them and said sarcastically, “Are you the believers of western medicine? Aren’t you medical experts? Explain this! How come? How come you were all frozen with just one hit!?
“I dare you to open those acupuncture points by yourselves. Don’t you beg me for it!”
Dong Kai and others struggled for quite a while, until their foreheads leaked sweat. They still failed to take over the control of their own bodies. They couldn’t stand still right there like mummies forever. Director Zhao was the first one to compromise. He said to Qin Haodong, “Dr. Tang! I was wrong! I’m begging you! Please let go of us!”
The others followed suit and begged, “Yes, Dr. Tang! It’s all our fault today! Please forgive us!”
“We used to misunderstand Chinese medicine. Now we know acupoints are real!”
Since those people had changed their altitude. Qin Haodong took a glance at them and sneered, “Now you know you were wrong?”
“We know that we’re wrong! “We apologize to you and to traditional Chinese medicine!”
Those people couldn’t stop apologizing, looking totally different for those mincing posers they had been just then.
“Apologize? Does that really work? If an apology could really settle everything, why do we need laws and cops?”
Qin Haodong’s face changed and said with a stern face, “TCM is the precious treasure our ancestors left for us. It is the essence of our five-thousand-years culture. It is the research result of multiple generations. That’s why it can cure any disease. It saw the human body as a system, not as single parts.
“I don’t hold any hostility toward western medicine, but you guys are being really ridiculous. You’ve learned western medicine for a couple of years, and couldn’t wait to use it against TCM.”
How old is western medicine? 100 years? 200 years? How could it be the match of TCM that has lived for more than 5000 years?”
Dong Kai was reluctant to apologize just then. He was yelling, “Tang Feng! We’ve already apologized! What do you want from us?”
“I did insult TCM. So what? I’m slapping your face now!”
“How dare you!?”
Before Dong Kai finished yelling, Qin Haodong walked to him. He raised his hand and slapped heavily on Dong Kai’s face.

Director Li also exclaimed in anger, “We’re all elites in the hospital. How dare you, a young doctor, assault us! You’re way out of line! You’re so fired!”
Qin Haodong frowned. Those people didn’t learn their lessons yet. They started yelling at Qin Haodong again as soon as they were released. Just when Qin Haodong was about to teach them more lessons, somebody yelled at the door, “Who’s yelling? How dare you offend my brother-in-law! You want to get fired or what?”
They looked at the man at the door, only to find Zhang Hao was there.
“Our boss’ son?”
They surely knew Zhang Hao. He was the only son of Zhang Lijun, and would inevitably inherit the ownership of Guangren Hospital.
Those people were so confused. They looked into each other’s eyes and wondered who was Zhang Hao’s brother-in-law.
Dong Kai was confused, too. He kept thinking who was the low key guy that had secretly become Zhang Hao’s brother-in-law without anyone else knowing it.
That didn’t matter much to him. He wanted Qin Haodong to die so eagerly. Zhang Hao would directly kick Qin Haodong out of the hospital because he had offended Zhang Hao’s brother in law.
He became prouder thinking of that. He pointed at Qin Haodong and said, “You offended our young boss’ brother-in-law. You’re so dead.”
But before he finished speaking, Zhang Hao knocked him on the back of his head and scolded, “Have you lost your mind? Watch your tone when speaking to my brother-in-law!”
“Uh… Mr. Zhang, I’m not talking to your brother-in-law, I’m talking to this guy…”
Dong Kai was knocked bewildered and hadn’t realized what was going on. Zhang Hao knocked on his head again and said, “He is my brother-in-law!”
“What?”
Now everybody was dumbfounded. They had never expected Qin Haodong to be Zhang Hao’s brother in law. “How’s that possible?”
They wouldn’t have dared to provoke Qin Haodong if they had known that. He was the hospital owner’s brother-in-law. What kind of idiot would be so arrogant and provocative to challenge him?
They were all experts and authorities in their regard. As one of the best private hospitals in Jiangnan, they were paid very generously. Once fired, they would barely have any chance to find another generous offer like that one.
Zhang Hao went to Qin Haodong and said with a flattering face, “Brother. Those people offended you. Tell me what you want me to do to deal with them.”
Qin Haodong looked at those people with an intriguing look. They started to avoid eye contact with him because they were so afraid that they would irritate him.
Dong Kai was the most regretful one at the moment. He could’ve been staying in the hospital and flirting with some nurse, but he chose to jump in that muddy pond. His heart was jumping in his throat out of the fear of being fired.
Qin Haodong hesitated for a second and said, “Let them leave. Stay away from TCM clinic from now on.”
Zhang Hao was a spoiled rich kid who held no manners to anyone else. He yelled to them immediately, “Did you hear that? My brother-in-law wants you to leave. Now get out of here and never get him upset again, or I’ll teach you some lessons.”
He was being a little rude actually, but those people felt that a burden had been released. They ran immediately out of the clinic, taken over by fear of losing their jobs.
After kicking them out of the clinic, Zhang Hao said to Qin Haodong with a smiling face, “Brother, if anyone in the hospital offends you again. You can tell me. I’ll get him fired immediately.”
Qin Haodong certainly didn’t care about those things. He smiled slightly and said, “Keep low-key, like I always say.”
Zhang Hao patted on his forehead and apologized, “Sorry. I was angered, and didn’t restrain myself much.”
Qin Haodong said, “Anyway, it’s all over now. What brings you here?”
Zhang Hao said, “Today is Rubing’s birthday. I want to discuss the birthday present with you.”
